The DWMA Staff Member would be listening quietly in the background, humming to herself while being extra jealous now that her kitty friend had decided to take up roost on her meister's shoulders! The woman pouted, trying to shower this cute kitty in kisses and pets and affection! Why would it want her instead?! Was it because Evelyn was smaller and more cute!? "Curse my old age! I'm cute too, damn it!" she thought to herself before continuing on with their impromptu meeting and then looking to the two new boys that had arrived. She offered a wave, as if they hadn't just ruined a scene. "Hiya! Are you two guys here to help us too?" Lucky them, they were! But one would call the kitty a witch?! Mary's eyes widened, looking to the cat with a look of betrayal.
"Kitty noooo! Please don't be a witch! I was gunna take you back to work and keep you as my future office kitty!"
Her poor heart! The kitty transformed into a witch, tearing the woman's heart completely out as she let out a sullen pout, crossing her arms underneath her chest in a sort of sad fit. "Uwaaaaah! No fair, I wanted a kitty, not some witch!~"

Michael Whitmore Jonathan Highwind
Mickey looked to Ryan and Serah, happy to see their friends. "Yeah. Heard we'd get to fight some vampires so we hopped at the chance. Well, I hopped, Jonathan just tagged along so I, and I quote, *ahem* "Don't get a bite taken out of my a**." end quote. " He looked over to Jonathan. "Keep looking at me like that and I'll smack your eyes back to normal. Besides, I'm just saying; you go head long into s**t and can never get yourself out." Jonathan looked over to a girl who was dressed in what appeared to be some form of priestess clothing. She appeared to be a bit on guard around him and Mickey. Good. He nodded to her then turned to the now transformed witch.
"We're not really here for a witch, but if it's found out that you're involved in these kids going missing, you'll wind up becoming the strings Mickey's bow form." Mickey, a bit in shock replied "Wow. I'd uh, I'd rather not have cat guts, or any guts for that matter wrapped around me. " he looked over to the witch "I'm gonna ask you once, and ask you clearly: Are you involved?"
The fact that Mouse was a witch seemed to be a topic of disdain. Mouseโs shoulders slumped and she looked visibly deflated at all of the sudden animosity.โHey now, I havenโt attacked anyone!โ She threw her hands up defensively when the nun, who had been so friendly to her as a cat, suggested they โtook her outโ. โI even helped fight off one of those things!โ she gestured to the remains of a keshin on the floor of the roof. โWhatโs wrong with beinโ a witch anyway? Itโs not like I was given a choice about it. Thatโs pretty prejudiced of you.โ Mouse really did not want to have to fight these people. She only wanted to tag along and have some fun. She never found out why member of that stupid school were so against witches in the first place.
To the redhead who had almost smothered her to death she gave a hopeful grin,โHey, I could be your office cat anytime, my friend! Whyโs that gotta change just cuz Iโm a witch? Gimme a chance wonโt ya?โ It was insinuated that she might have something to do with the problems in this area and Mouse let out a sigh. It seemed no matter where she went, people were always going to view and judge her immediately, and never in her favor. โLook,โ She began, her grin fading as her mood shifted, โI been stuck in Arcana for the past while and I wanted a break. I went poking around to find something interesting to do and I ended up following these two,โ She gestured to Sera and Ryan. โI have about as much to do with whatโs going on here as you. If all youโre looking for is a witch punching bag, I suggest you pick on one your own size.โ She glanced at the nun, โWellโฆ a different one your own size.โ The little witch crossed her arms, thoroughly offended and pouting.

Ryan and Serah listened as the others discussed what to do as the cat was revealed to be a Witch in disguise. The two of them had always been told that Witches weren't necessarily the best bunch of people. But then again, how much was it taught that the DWMA was bad when it came to witches? The Meister and Weapon duo looked to each other as they made a decision. There couldn't be any more time to waste, and it didn't seem as if she had anything to do with this.
"Let's not get hasty." Ryan would try to be the voice of reason. "We're not here to fight a witch. And she hasn't done anything except be a cat and attack one of the Kishins. I'll take her at her word for now." Ryan crossed his arms and looked to the rest of the group, trying to get a read on everyone. Tensions were definitely higher than what he expected this early into the mission.
Serah nodded in agreement. "We also don't want to be wasting any more of our energy. We don't know how much we have ahead of us." Serah would look to the transformation witch. "So, what should we call you? I doubt you just wanna be called 'witch' the entire time." The weapon knew that names mattered. Just calling someone by their designation was demeaning and derogatory. She knew that all too well from her childhood.
Regardless, the mission needed to move forward. As Serah waited for an answer, Ryan would hop down into the building to search for clues. It wasn't hard to find a gaping hole in the wall that led to a secret passageway. It looked as if the fight below had revealed it. The group had their way forward, and hopefully to the missing kids. "Looks like they got an underground tunnel."

Evelyn narrowed her eyes at the witch in the middle of the group. From birth, she had been told time and time again of what they were capable of. What they would do to innocent people and how it was in their blood to be incomprehensibly evil. So when the notion was thrown at her to wait her blade...cross, the nun would glance around at those present with a great deal of confusion. "You...aren't going to help me dispose of her?" she said an an amazed tone of voice, blue eyes locked onto the witch as hesitation filled her mind. "But witches are evil..." she said, glancing now to Mary, who looked to be somewhat on the Witch's side, although that was a given due to her one brain cell being hyperfocused on the way that only a bimbo would. Ryan's word was what really solidified her decision, which made Evelyn sighed and end the pressing decision to take care of the witch. "Although I disagree, I am inclined to work alongside the group for this assignment, and thus will hold my judgement for the time being. However..." she narrowed her eyes at the witch. "My eyes still fall upon you. Do not try anything funny." Was the girl's warning to the girl, before then returning her attention to the matter at hand.
Following their leader down, Mary would pluck her young Meister from the ground before landing jist near Ryab, putting the girl back onto the ground as she'd give an unamused look, and it most certainly wasn't because of the difference in height. Once on the ground, they group investigated the huge hole that was currently near the side of the building, leading into what looked like a sort of underground tunnel. Evelyn was quiet while they continued forward, focusing on her energy while trying to make out what could be nearby their location. "I'm not sensing any souls or bodies yet. We should be on guard as we enter the tunnel here. No telling what lies to await our arrival."

"Oh, I wish, kitty..." Mary said, crossing her arms underneath her chest as she rocked back and forth in a conflicted manner. She seemed completely lost on why exactly Evelyn and her had even come now, much too focused on the pressing matter at hand: taking tge kitty in. "The DWMA would have my head if I let a witch in, and I kinda need this job still for the benefits and 401k. Oh, if you were only a normal and cute kitty it would have been easier..." The redhead continued to remain sullen, moping as she considered the "What ifs" that prevented her from bringing in a cat into her office. The janitor might catch on but he could be bribed. What wasn't an option was upsetting her superiors, who each had helped her considerably since that tragic event with Chase had robbed her of all of her souls, her partner and most of her mind. Mary put her hands on her cheeks, trying to calm herself down while her cute little Meister would showcase her disapproval at the witch being allowed to join. Even if that line of thinking was logical, the staff member would have to correct that little oopsie! "Evelyn, we do have to admit that she didn't attack us, even so much as defended Sarah from that Kisshin. She veey clearly has nothing to do with this situation. You need to stand down." It was a strange moment of lucidity, the clumsy and aloof nature of Mary vanishing for a solid ten seconds or so as she retained that stern voice of a teacher that any staff member would possess. Just as quick as it came, she resurfaced, as Mary would then smile at everybody agreeing to not dally anymore on the witch.
"Yaaaay!~ So we're all a team then! Lets get to the bottom of this mystery, gang!"
After bear hugging Evelyn as per usual, she leaped down onto the street level and placed the Meister down while joining every on entering the tunnel. It looked absolutely dilapidated, the perfect little hideout for bad guys! She followed faithfully behind Evelyn as she sensed for anybody who would be nearby. During the walk, she spun back arpund to the other members of the ground. "So what's everyone'sspecialties? We need to work togetger if we want to finish this kob and save those poor angels! And for that, we'll need to split up and search for clues...Unless its just one big path. Then it should be pretty easy, so forget I asked!" The woman would then hum to herself, looking at the hallway they had entered and casually brushing a gloved hand across the interior as they walked. Maybe she could even make a couple of finger dust paintings!
"Whatโs wrong with beinโ a witch anyway? Itโs not like I was given a choice about it." This hit deep for both Jonathan and Mickey. They gave each other a "Are we the baddies?" look. Who were they, of all people, to judge someone like that? It would definitely be something for them to think on later. "You're absolutely right." He said holding Jonathan's hand " You didn't get to choose, did you? You didn't deserve that at all. We're sorry."
As they hopped down to the streets following Ryan and Serah, one of the others had asked about everyone's specialties. "I'm good at sensing things; and Mickey, well Mickey's specialty is that he hits things." slightly offended by this remark Mickey pounded his chest proudly "I'm the best there is at what I do and what I do isn't nice! I hit things hard and I hit them fast! I'll be damned if it isn't fun to do too.""That you do." he said smugly "Damn straight! Wait..." Jonathan chuckled as Mickey tried to put him in a headlock and give him a noogie. "If you'd like I can do a quick check of the environment. It could be a labyrinth down there."
Mouse glanced over at the two she had originally been following as they spoke. Those two at least seemed to be less bloodthirsty for witches, which was a small comfort. She unfolded her arms and stuffed them in her pockets instead, not quite as standoffish, but still defensive. When Serah asked her name, a smile tugged on one corner of her mouth. โItโs Mouse.โ She stated simply. At least some DWMA students still had some basic human decency.
The little nun was still at her throat, figuratively for now at least, spouting nonsense about how all witches were evil.โPffft.โ she scoffed, though she put her hands back up. The little nun still had her weapon out. โI dunno about everyone else here, but deciding all witches are evil AT BIRTH seems more evil than simply existing.โshe shrugged, โBut thatโs just me. I like to actually get to know people before I judge them.โ She eyed the nun up and down,โBesides, arenโt nuns supposed to leave judgment up to the man upstairs or whatever? Youโre not acting very devoutโ Mouse couldnโt keep the mocking tone out of her voice, but she stopped there. She reminded herself that she was going to need to ingratiate these people to her if she wanted to walk out of here alive. She came along to find adventure, and it seemed she might have bitten off more than she wanted to chew. Oh well. โNo funny business huh? Does that mean I canโt make any jokes?โ She asked with a grin, lowering her arms and shoving her hands in her jacket pockets.
To the other redhead Mouse gave a dismissive smile, โDarn, being an office kitty sounded like a sweet gig, not gonna lie. Maybe you could start a petition or something. But if everyone at the academy feels as blindly hateful of my kind as this one,โ she jabbed a thumb towards Evelyn, โI wouldnโt hold my breath.โ She shuffled aside to let Ryan and Sera back down into the building, then looked over at the final pair, falling silent in surprise at their words. She had never once in her life been told that she was right about anything. Her eyebrows shot up and her mouth fell open momentarily.โOh, uhโฆ Well thanks. I appreciate thatโฆ I guess.โ They actually apologizedโฆ to her?! She knew who she was sticking close to now.
Mouse followed the party down to street level as everyone spoke up about their skills. When it was Mouseโs turn she shrugged,โI dunno. Iโm new to this whole โwitchโ thing but I can turn into felines and Iโm good at being sneaky. I also can get into most locked places if you give me a few minutes.โ That probably wasnโt the most trustworthy thing to tell a group of people who were mostly still considering โtaking careโ of her, but it was out there now. It wasnโt long before they all arrived at a gaping tunnel mouth. โWellโฆ thatโs not ominous at all.โ Jonathan mentioned doing an environment check and Mouse thought that was a good idea, โGo for it.โ
Ryan Grayson | Level 1 | โ | Meister | Traditionalist | Outlaw | 100 / 100 Spirit "Nobody hurts my pride without going through me first."

Ryan would stop at the mouth of the underground tunnel and await the others. It would be beneficial to let Evelyn and Jonathan lead, as they could sense forward. "We'll have to play fast, so it's best if you two lead up front, keep your partners close by. Serah and I can guard the rear, and make sure none of them sneak up from behind." Ryan would look towards the brunt of the group. He then would answer Evelyn's question. "I'm generally what I like to call a battlefield protector. I can buff allies, debuff Kishins, heal wounds, and remove madness. I can also handle myself with some hand to hand fighting." He would spark his soul wavelength around his body for a second to emphasize his statement.
Serah would follow down behind Mouse, being the last one into the building. She would meet up with Ryan and the rest of the group as they discussed moving forward. "I'm a multi-weapon, with ranged and close quarters capability. Ryan and I have access to some of the advanced Resonance techniques. Might not be a bad idea to try to chain resonate. If we get the chance to match wavelengths, that is." Serah transformed her right arm into her buster. It was slimmer than when she transformed, but could still pack a punch. She'd be ready to fire at a moment's notice. She and Ryan were used to fighting separately, as a way to get more ground covered. This also allowed them to cover their backs. Getting caught off guard was something they never wanted.
Up ahead would be a long corridor, sloping downward at a steady rate. Nothing would show up ahead, and so far the area behind them was clear. However, their respite wouldn't last too long. Those that could sense souls would see a group up ahead, but it was hazy. Something was interfering with the souls in the area, and it had a sinister aura about it.

Evelyn huffed as the witch's words, named Mouse oddly enough, would rotate around in her mind. She had been raised from birth to believe that anybody who would take up such vile magics would be irredeemably evil. Foul wretches who plagued the land of Lord Death. Yet this one was not only actively helping them but beyond all odds, seemingly cooperative with the group. It made the little nun confused, her brows furrowed in her thoughts while the group walked forward further inside of the tunnel. Did she have something to gain out of this? Evelyn was wracking her little cute head around to think of a reason for her continued assistance but couldn't find it in her to admit that she was wanting to genuinely help. She must have an ulterior motive for helping. I'm sure of it. This witch is going to lead us right into her coven and then have their way with us. Evelyn thought to herself while the group continued their descent into the cavern.
Jonathan and her would be the two up front, with their partners close behind them. The nun tensed her brows while the incline the group was coming down would slowly be leading...somewhere. The group would be slowly leading further into the tunnel when Evelyn could sense something. There were indeed souls in the area, although details were sparse. It felt like something was interfering with how the girl could grasp which souls belonged to who. "Something's up ahead." Evelyn remarked to the group. "There's some souls up ahead, but I can't get a read on what they are." SHe felt the arms of Mary on her again, that chest of hers causing the girl to blush as she huffed to herself, much too on edge for her caretaker's babbling. "Mary, weapon form." The staff member would slide back into her giant rosary cross form, with Evelyn placing the giant weapon on her back just in case they needed to prepare themselves for a fight.

Mouse! What an odd little name for a witch! Mary had to think for a bit about that little idea she had about starting up a petition. Her hand went to her chin in thought, rubbing at it while she bounced around in though. "I dunno...My boss would flip at a witch cat. Oh, but if you got stuck as a kitty, I bet we could take you in then!" Always the helpful and creative woman, Mary suggested her own idea to Mouse. She'd ignore any little looks or expressions from the rest of the group at her suggestion but hey! She was just thinking up ideas. The woman continued alongside Evelyn while thinking to herself about things. What the people down there would be like. Would it be an easy mission, and what would she be able to do if a fight did break out. The DWMA had told her explicitly to not interfere with Evelyn's mission, but the meister was too cute to let anything happen to that face! If the group could handle themselves, maybe it wouldn't matter if-
"Ohhhhh, I get it now." she said aloud to the group, wearing a confident and proud smile on her face. "Your name is Mouse. But like you're a cat witch. So you're an anti witch then!"
Mary felt the little meister's groan and walked forward while she'd announce her findings of the innards of the system. Mary rewarded the resourcefulness by hugging the nun again, ferociously burrowing the poor girl's head in between her breasts. "Very good detection skills, Eve! You're like a little Sherlock Holmes when you get all analytical!~" The meister must have not fond it just as fond, as she'd command Mary to go back into a weapon again. The older girl frowned but would mold herself back into being her usual cross self, resting on Evelyn's back while still facing the rest of the group.

Mickey grabbed Jonathan's hand and walked behind him, ready to swap at a moment's notice. As they held hands Mickey started pulsing his soul in Jonathan's hand in Morse code. "So that was an awkward first impression, huh?""I really don't feel like talking about it.""We're gonna have to talk about it at some point.""Yes, we will, but is now really the best time to talk about it? Besides, what if someone sees us "talking"?""If they can see what we're doing and can understand Morse code, then they've earned the right to "hear" us." They would argue for a bit about how to approach reevaluating their views on witches, ultimately coming to the agreement that now is definitely not the best time.
As the group continued forward Jonathan noticed Evelyn, as the red-head had called her, had her weapon take their combat form. Mickey shifted to combat ready too, and Jonathan took a basic plow stance with him. They walked carefully to make sure they didn't accidentally set off any traps they weren't aware of. As they got closer Jonathan could sense what she meant. There were souls, that much was for sure. "I've got a real bad feeling about this. It's like trying to see through a window covered in petroleum jelly."

Ryan and Serah instinctively readied for battle, with Serah transforming into her Saber mode. The blazing green soul blade gave a faint reflection of light on the cave wall, but not enough to give away their position. "Careful, we don't know what's going on ahead. Make sure there's no kids before going wild." Serah nodded in the reflection on the hilt in response.
Around the corner would be a small group of older vampire kishins, five of them. Above would be a swirling mass of innocent souls. In the center of the kishins would be about seven children, taken tonight alone. One of the kishins were reciting from a book, performing a ritual on the souls. Panic immediately struck Ryan and Serah as they realized what was going on. "They're gonna turn those kids!" Ryan's voice was low, but obviously panicked. "Stop that guy doing the ritual!" Without another word, the two of them took off towards the group. Springing into action, the weapon and meister pair would head straight for the one performing the ritual, only to be intercepted by one of the other four.
As the group crowded around the entrance to the tunnels, Mouse gazed up at the bodacious redhead who was clearly distraught at the fact that her office cat idea wouldnโt work. Mouse was admittedly a little touched that the woman was honestly considering it thoroughly. An amused smirk tugged at the right corner of her mouth as she watched Mary distress over the possibilities and consequences. Mouse laughed out loud at Maryโs assumption of the meaning of her name. โNah, nothing so thought out. I was named Mouse before I became a witch. Itโs really just my name.โ She was still chuckling as Ryan began to speak.
Mouse remained silent as Ryan laid out some strategy. It sounded solid to her, but then, she was never really one for strategy herself. She was used to just winging things. Worked out for her so far, hadnโt it. She was still alive and in good health, she had a place to stay and these DWMA students had decided not to kill her. For now anyway. Mouse chalked that up to a win so far. Mouse wasnโt too keen on having a weapon and Miester at her back as she descended into the hole, but at least these two weren't the most murderous ones. She kept her senses sharp nonetheless and followed the group ahead of her. She glanced at some tiny movement in the clasped hands of Michael and Jonathan, seeing the fingers twitching in turn and she tilted her head. Was that some sort of shared nervous tick or something? She glanced up and tried to get a look at their faces, wanting to get a look at what they looked like when uncertain so she would be able to better read them in the future, if they ever crossed paths again. She could just make out some emotion. Was it concern? Worry? She wasnโt sure, but it wasnโt a positive look. It could be anything really. She shrugged inwardly and let it go.
They hadnโt gone far into the tunnels when the little nun piped up about something up ahead and ordered her weapon to take the appropriate form. Mouse looked ahead as Jonathan explained what he could discern. The little witch peered around them, squinting. Ryan had Sera transform as well and Mouse got low. She could feel the tension in the air prickle across her skin and her heart began to beat faster. This was starting to get exciting! Just as they were getting close enough to see through the mist that filled these tunnels, Mouse hear Ryan gasp and shout out the scene just as she saw it. In a snap they were all in action. Ryan passed her up with Sera in his hands, heading straight for the one chanting but a kishin got in their way. Mouse didnโt wait for an invitation. Even though she knew vampires were part of the Grand Coven as she was, she was not going to sit back and let innocent children become prey to the likes of these things. She ran up after Ryan and leaped into the air, yelling โS'CUSE ME!!โ as she planted one foot on his backside and one on the head of the kishin attacking him, using them both as a platform to jump into the air above the other kishins coming to attack the rest of the group. In mid air she transformed [Transformation level 1] into her favorite fighting form. A tiger.
With a roar, the red tiger came down right on top of where the chanting kishin had been, but at the last moment it scrambled out of the way, narrowly missing the razor sharp claws and dagger-like teeth that had been aimed at it. Mouse growled in defiance and tensed for another lunge when one of the minion kishins came to defend the leader, catching her on the side of the face with a well aimed kick. She snarled and turned her attention to it, baring her fangs, emerald eyes flashing in anger.

The tension in the air was so thick that you could have cut it with a knife. Evelyn held her weapon close, ready to strike out at anything that could possibly scurry forward into the tunnel and lash out at them. The two from before would make sure the party knew just what they were trying to avoid. Nobody could just start blasting from the get go. They had to ensure that the kids inside would be safe. Evelyn nodded her head in agreement, with Mary doing the same in the reflection of her grand cross. The young cleric followed closely, her boots striking against the ground as they would soon fund themselves staring at what lied out behind the tunnel. There was a group of vampires?? At least that's what she thought they were. A small group that had a bunch of souls trapped in a web as they were performing some kind of ritual. Evelyn frowned, sickened at the very sight but continued to hold back. "They're sacrificing those souls or something. I cant tell..." She put a hand to her chin in thought. "We should probably wait and look for an opening of some kind. We dont know how many of them would be near or-"
In an instant, two blurred figures rushed by her. Evelyn looked forward to the vampires in record time. She groaned to herself, her hand brought to rub at her temple. "Or we can run headfirst into certain danger with any precaution. That works too." Evelyn ran after the party, leaping at one vampire bear by as she brought her weapon down on him, using the full weight of her swing to crush the poor soul. She moved onto the next, gripping the handle of Mary as she swung the staff member hard against whatever was next to her. An eye was kept on her teammates in case any of them decided to get themselves hurt ahead of her.
