JetskiBabe anime_extra_girl Tigress848 JetskiBabe anime_extra_girl JetskiBabe anime_extra_girl ((Will there be try-outs for the house teams and if so when will they be?)) ((Good question...I like this girl! heart )) ((Thanks! Do you know if there will be?)) Wish I did...sorry, that's why I said I liked your question. The thing is, how you would have tryouts when we're all just using computers is beyond me. whee Sorry, trying to figure out a fair way to hold them xp ((Well why don't we first make a list of who wants to tryout? If there's seven from each house than we wont need to hold tryouts for that house's team.We'd/they'd just have to agree on who wants to be which position. If you want to be fair and have try-outs, why don't we have everybody tryout using the Harry Potter [warner Bros.] website and they just tell you the score they got?)) I liked the first idea, at least to start. Just so we know. The thing about the WB website is that it isn't like we'd be able to have games like that anyway. Maybe we could make a quiz (not like quizzila, the kind where you get a score) and do the people with the highest scores. It could be on knowledge of different things about quidditch from the books. I don't know...this whole thing is confoozling. xp True...
My only thoughts are that other gaians are going to be joining the guild. New people join everyday. If that keeps up it makes the decision on how to make a fair "try-out" more difficult. Someone with a higher knowledge of quidditch may join after the teams are made. Though they joined later, it be dissapointing to not be given a chance.
Of course, the new members who join must know how to role play fairly well to be on the team. Thats in general actually...*shrugs*

The lowest # would be the first to bump off if someone comes and has a higher 'grade'). We could also have two teams per each house: a Team 'A' and a team 'B'. That way we could have 14 positions to fill instead. That'd have less arguing & hopefully less complications over who gets which position. There could be two competitions: All the team 'A's againest each other and all the team 'B's againest each other. Then, if you guys want, we could have the two winning teams compete to see which is the 'Ultimate Team'. After each 'Ultimate Team' comp. we could get all new players. What do you think?

Anyways...I've got to go eek So I'll finish this later 3nodding We could get someone who would say what's happening with the bludgers and the snitch? Example: Bludger #2 zooms toward [Player's name] as Bludger #1 speeds toward the [house name]'s [position]! Meanwhile the snitch still hasn't been spotted! If we did that, we'd have to get a person that knows a little about Harry Potter but WILL NOT take sides. They'd be the referee. If we wanted, we could get a few referees. If you guys don't want that, then we could just do everything based on luck: Players will choose a # and if whoever is closest to the ref's # would get their move. Example: Somebody says: I'll choose 3. I wont to take the quaffle from [player's name]. Somebody Else says: #8 I want to get a glimpse of where the Snitch is so I can go for it! Ref's #: 5 So 'Somebody' gets quaffle. If two people were to choose the same number, and that #'s closest to the ref's, they'd both get their move unless it's the same move. Then they could guess another # to see who get's the move. Seeker would only be able to guess a # everyfew turns unless the ref says otherwise. How about that?

My dad just came up with an awesome idea. We figure out approximate probabilities for different things happening, and give each thing a span of numbers. For example, seeing the snitch might be 1-12, stealing the quaffle might be 13-35, etc. The numbers would change a bit depending on the situation. Since my dad it going to teach my Java, he'can help me make a program that generates a number from 1-100. So the number would determine what happens next, sort of like D&D, which I know almost nothing about. xp
We (my dad and I) think that the best was to do this would be using AIM, which of course requires having the program installed, but since it's free, it's easy enough. That way, the referee could be instant messaging each of the players seperately. Then we could have a chatroom where everyone can see what is happening. Other people from the guild would also be in the chatroom so they could see what was happening. Then we would post what happened in a thread in the guild. Of course, we could also use PMs, but IMing is much quicker.
So...what do you think? (anybody!)

The program thing would/will be nice to help with the fairity of how we play. 3nodding The only problem with you and your dad's idea about the AIM thing is that some users might have older computers with less bites to spare and so might not be able to install AIM without messing up their computer. Also, in order to do instant messaging, we all would have to be on at the same time and that'd be hard considering that some of us live on the other side of the planet. But the time thing will be a problem no matter what. Other than that, I like The idea! 3nodding

JetskiBabe Yeah, you're right. It's really hard to use AIM on older computers, so we could just use PMs and stuff.
