I don't know exactly how you could write a novel based solely on lolita or on a lolita. I mean, it'd just be a novel written about a person without any real conflict or substance.

Especially a manga. I could see it turning out to be all about the fashion without any real storyline.

Have you ever read ParaKiss?

Doesn't Miwako wear Lolita style sometimes...? I'm not quite sure, as I have not read it yet. I plan to.

I decided to create a manga, though the fashion is only a side order, with a storyline first. It's very short thus far. heart it's very fun to draw out.

I don't really read manga or watch anime. I find most of the storylines to be extremely annoying and boring.

Yes, it's a manga.

You could have a lolita with conflict. Think about it...wouldn't a loli be an ideal way to show how us humans wear masks? Always smiling, but in reality a horrid wreck inside. I think it would be a fabulous way to illustrate this.
i really like the way you explained that, i dont tend to make it solely on loli but have a few loli characters. A storyline that involves these characters and others...not really a straight up loli manga...don't know how'd that work.

Well not all manga and anime is good in my opinion but you can't know that they are all boring or annoying until you've actually read/watched. It's just like some books and movies aren't good.
The mangas I've read seem alittle bit exciting and funny. Though I have come across boring storylines, I just pick another until I find the right one.

I've been trying to make a manga for some time now, it's went through so many changes. At first it was about a amazon tribe of women fighters and now it's a magical girl fantasy title with a couple of lolita characters. I just haven't been able to find a good enough plot for it

Hello darlings. ^.^ I have a question that only you lolis can help me with. Are there any books written about the lolita lifestyle, or books with lolitas in them? I'd love to read one.
Unfortunately, there aren't any novels about Lolita that I know of. sad

But I have an idea for a book about a singer that is a Lolita. =3 I'm hoping it would span a trilogy (first, I have to write it sweatdrop )

And then there's a manga of mine about an Amaloli (did I spell it correctly?) in a world that has elements of Alice in Wonderland in it.

(Sigh) If there were only Lolita-based books....

I think Viz may have a Kamikaze Girls novel published. Other than that, sorry, I don't know any other books about or ones that have Lolita.

I can only think of FRUiTS and FRESHFRUiTS, plus some manga, and I'm not sure those count.

That sounds like a horrid Linkin Park song.

Don't be so harsh - the Lolita character in the movie Shimotsuma Monogatari (or Kamikaze Girls) is something like that... she lives in a reality she refuses to accept, and then she drowns into Loli, Rococo and other sweet things. The movie is more of a comedy, though - so her reality is not that shocking. But I liked the movie 3nodding
And yeah, there's a novel, that gave origin to the film if I'm not wrong.

And Paradise Kiss is really cool, although the clothes presented have little of Lolita in them. I love Miwako, she's such a cutie! Makes me want to have a friend like that... although I've been told I have a little of her.

I believe that there's nothing much to explore in Lolita, literature-wise. You can write a novel or a manga and put a Lolita as the main character, but not much beyond that... fashion is not a very fertile theme.

The only one I can think of is Kamikaze Girls by Novala Takemoto. I'ts out in english and there's also a manga and a movie for it in america as well. There is a sequel but that's not out in english yet.

There's an anime (not sure if it was a manga or not) by Ai Yazawa that's sort of a prelude to Parakiss. It's about Miwako's sister, Mikako in high school and she had a little friend with freckles who is a Lolita, or at least dresses in Lolita-like clothes. ^-^ She makes me smile.
It's called Gokinjo Monogatari, I believe.

And although it's not really Lolita perse, but I read a lot of novels (mostly romance) set in 17-18th century France....I've also seen some novels set in the Victorian era, and novels about Marie Antoinette (I never spell her name right...) seem very popular right now, with the soon to be release movie (with Kirsten Dunst~~~).

EDIT: There's another manga that I love right now, called Blood Vampire and the main character is a vampire. She dresses in rather Victorian-ish clothes. ^-^ And another one called Princess Princess, but that one's about crossdressers <33333333333333. xD
