Vermillion climbed higher as they neared the border, last thing he wanted was Houka forces spotting him crossing the border. A flare up in the war between them would ultimately spell defeat at the bargainging table.
Vermillion turned shi head back and put his eyes to the coreners so he could see his riders. Speaking loud enough to be heard over the rushing wind in their ears.

"We'll be crossing the border in less then 20 minutes, and as of ten minutes ago the last of Domachi's fighting dragons was killed. So at this moment I am the last one of my kind here and techincally with Queen Yami's whereabouts still unkown I've assumed all power of Domachi goverment."

Vermillion dropped a forearm to trim against a cross wind.

"As to the landing, i'll let you know when were about make our final approach, those who have weapons, i suggest you draw them just in case we get attacked, i'll cast a shield to prevent arrow attacks, but it has limited range. So don't get lured out of its protection, lure them in for close combat, and we should prevail long enough for identification."

			            Nefen Bloodaxe needed money.
The disowned half-demon, sitting with his knees drawn up to his chest, stared at a distance at the palace and its nearby surroundings from some cliffs. That castle was under very heavy attack, it looked like, yet, he still found himself not caring that much. Nefen wasn't out of the loop. He knew what was going on with Houka and Pearle. He knew he could probably get some good money out of fighting for one of the armies, but he had yet to find an opportunity to do so. Although he was from Houka, he didn't have much pride in anything. It didn't matter to him who he fought for.

But while all of that was going on, there Nefen was, relaxing and spectating. But was the use of him going over to the castle? It wasn't like he was going to get money out of it. That was his biggest concern at the moment. He hasn't eaten in what, two days? It wasn't good.

The life of a wandering half-demon.

Despite his hunger, he was itching to see what was going on at the castle. Fights always made him excited. But he usually forced himself to wait for a battle that concerned money. That was how he got by. Fighting for money, be it one-on-one or a skirmish.

Still, it looked like quite a battle. It looked fun in his eyes.

So with that, Nefen stood up. As he did, he glanced at the castle again, seeing it tremble. He could barely feel the shaking beneath his feet.

He wasn't that far. He could probably make it to ground zero.

Nefen re-strapped his large sword to his back and left the cliffs.

Vermillion poked his head out of the clouds long enough to get his bearings before going back aobve them.
"Where here, prepare yourselves for the decent, bear in mind its not going to be smooth ride. I've also detected some large area's degrading magic, so their is either a mage battle below, or was at one time. Lets just hope for the latter of the two evils."

With that said Vermillion pitched and rolled right, coming down out of the clouds at a steep angle and high rate of speed. Off to his left obsurced at times by his wing was the palace. However with the countinuation of his high speed decending turn the palace came into full view dead ahead.

Vermillion began to ease off the dive leveling out above the ground with just enough for wing clearance. "Now would be a good time to draw your swords, we've been spotted by at least two of the watchtowers coming down, and I don't know how fast word can travel here."

Nefen found himself in an open field of tall grass. He ran through the familiar terrain. He had been through here millions of times before. The half-demon knew he was getting closer to area of destruction; he was starting to hear the fighting.
This battle sounds like there's magic involved, he thought, smiling a little. Nefen himself never dabbled in magic, but he never needed it. His strength, his human strength and his brute demon strength, was all he needed. That and his prowess as a warrior. He has made a hefty sum of money doing what he did best: fight.

Nefen wondered what the other side was after. Oh well, it didn't really matter to him. Half the time, his curiosity got him into trouble or big situations.

 Like now, for instance.

He kept running until he came to a forest. He swiftly jumped up onto the branches and started making his way to the town and palace, via hopping tree to tree.

(i dunno, but she'll be along shortly)
"Alright, this is it, ground level courtyard ahead, nobody as of yet, but keep sharp."

Vermillion dropped his feet and forearms, twisting his wings to drop his speed quickly, and the first thing to touch ground was his tail. The drag of which pitched the rest of his body forward onto his legs. Vermillion adjusted quickly to a decelerating run folding his wings partially.

Slowed to a walk he entered the courtyard and laid flat on his stomach for his passengers to disembark. His eyes never stopping the search for any danger on all fronts.

A misstep near the end of his run through the trees caused Nefen to slip and fall hard onto the grass. People like me aren't supposed to be clumsy, he thought, hoping that nobody saw him fall.
Spitting out grass, he pulled himself up off the ground. He looked up, finding himself on castle property. But he didn't need to look to know he was. He could hear sounds around him. The sounds of battle. Nefen put himself in a crouching position, examining his surroundings. He reckoned that he was at the side of the palace, the left, he concluded, judging from spotting the familiar frontside.

Welp, I guess all the good action is from within, Nefen guessed. Probably a lot of magic. I'll just have to work around that. He smirked.

From above him, he could hear...

... the flapping of wings? Well, more like the great flapping of very large wings.

Nefen's eyes darted upward, seeing a dragon soar somewhere above him. As he flattened himself against the side wall, his eyes grew considerably at the sight. He had never seen anything like that before. However, he didn't see where it landed. It was likely it could've landed somewhere in the front. Once again, he smirked. Let's see what's going on here on this front.

Nefen, endlessly curious, nosy, and self-confident, decided to tiptoe toward the front of the palace.

((I'm a little confused as to what's going on. I hope I did all right.))

Nadira nodded curtly as they cleared the clouds, and placed her hand on the hilt of her sword." Right."
She lurched foreward and slid off his back, landing in a disgruntled heap at his feet, With a few muttered curses, she righted herself and wrinkled her nose with disgust at the scene before her. Heaps of bodies littered the bloodstained walkway off to the left, scavengers tore at the bloated bodies with relish, and cawed loudly at their fellows. " Doesn't anyone have any respect for the dead? How can they just leave them lying out there like that after they defended them from whatever... Monster commited this atrocity."

She drew her sword with a cold hiss of steel, and struggled to control her rising panic. The folds of her dress flowed behind her as she strode quickly towards the palace, where the sounds of a pitched battle could be heard clearly even over the screams of terrified servants fleeing for their lives.

A fresh blast shook the palace down to its foundation, debris littered the stairway, and the polished marble floor was streaked with bloody footprints and grime. " I think you had better hurry!" She called back to the others.

The commander slid off the back of the Vermillion with relief and headed around vermillion till he was just out of sight. The sounds of retching where herd for a few moments before he returned to the party.
"I apologize my queen, i've never been a fan of flying, but i'll take the point and we must catch up with lady Nadira."

Vermillion stood up and sniffed the air with his tongue. He made a grimance on his face. "Get moving, Naidra watch the queen for a bit, i must wait a bit longer before switching forms."

Marta nodded to Vermillion and dashed to catch up with Nadira her guards kept their semi circle around Marta's back, she reached out with her hand and touched Nadira's arm "lets try and stick together lady Nadira" she said as she looked around wairly.

Nefen crept toward the front of the palace. The wall was long, so it took him a good while to get where he wanted to be. From around the corner, he peered out carefully, and found, not surprisingly, a dragon. Apparently, it looked as if he had passengers on him, for there were also two women.
One of them had a crown. At this, Nefen raised an eyebrow. Royalty? He didn't think that noble was from anywhere in Houka, so he assumed that it was from another kingdom.

He looked closer at the crown on her head, squinting his eyes. To him, it appeared that the crown was from Pearle. So... they're here to fight Houka...? he guessed. I guess rumors and news around here don't lie.

Vermillion began moving towards Nefen, "Its just you and me now, and you can forget hiding despite all the death out here I can still sense you. So I'd rather get this over with now then later"
