The female flicked her ears forward, eyes narrowing at the strange wolf as she turned to glance at her. Muscles bunched with tension as she took a small step forward, tail held high and jaw clenched. She was not in one of her better moods, especially since she had been wandering alone after parting with Dagda and with the ache in her side still bothering her.
The other female moved to the entrance of the cave with an appearance of almost being protective of it and Sirena snarled a little, knowing what folly it would be to start a fight in her state.
Any small wekaness when in battle could be fatal, she had learned this the hard way and yet her temper flared.
"You!" She spoke with icy tones, frosty gaze settling upon the female, "who are you?" She took a few more paces forward, pausing a few meters from the other.

Something snapped in the female that she had kept in careful check for a while now, the way that female had spoken to her had been just like those treacherous wolves from her past. Now she dared to turn her back on her! "I shall talk to you how I please." She growled.
Eyes narrowed as she moved forwards carefully, a slight limp tainting her usually fluid motions as she lowered her head to protect her vulnerable throat from teeth. Commen sense flew from her mind, anger pulsing through her veins.
"Don't turn your back on a potential threat, wolf." She sneered, "or were you not taught such things?" She swished her tail back and forth as she crouched low, approaching the mouth of the cave at a slow and almost robotic movement.

As the other wolf seem to lose her temper so did she, which was very rare. She watched from the shadows of the cave as the other wolf approached, watching as she limped slightly and the way in which she tried to hide this.
She spoke softly though the tips of her words were tainted with the anger which brewed inside her like a trapped storm. 'I was taught such things, wolf, and I am obeying them, you pose no threat to me as you have a limp on your front fore leg and you should never attack when in a weaker state, or was you not told that'
Tae was not in the mood to hold such arguments, all she wished was to lay down after a long day and finally be able to try and make some sort of understanding of the mess of her memory and try and gain the knowledge as to why Falcan wasn't with her now. She let her anger slide from her heart and again she spoke to the wolf in a calmer tone.
'Please let us not argue, I mean no disturbance to you, let us put this nonsense behind. You must be aching with a limp in such damp weather, come inside'
She stood her ground this time and waited for the other female to react.

Sirena's ears twitched forwards and her body paused in its movement as the wolf spoke again, so this wolf meant to threaten her? She lowered herself on the ground, an easy position in which to pounce from if the wolf gave her a chance to and growled faintly. The worst part of this conversation was that the stranger was right, fighting in this condition would only end up with her coming out the worst.
"I was told it but I was also told to defend myself against wolves who obviously have no integrity." She spoke between gritted teeth, ears once more flattening back against her skull in silent threat. She tried to catch the outline of the wolf in the dark, wanting to size her up and figure out how strong and quick she could be. However the cloud became briefly sheathed by cloud and the task became impossible.
She huffed and kept her eyes plainly fixed upon her. "I want none of your pity wolf!" She snapped, hackles rising once more. "My sufferings are my own."

The white and brown wolf slunk croser to the ground as she listened to the words, her muscles tensing as the female revealed herself in the very pale light that managed to filter through the clouds. She looked to be an agile wolf, one who was well exercised and quick. That had to be a disadvantage for herself, especially with the bruising on her side slowing down her actions.
She growled a warning not to come any closer and raised piercing eyes up to the wolfess. What was she suggesting? She stay with the enemy, sleep next to the enemy? What a stupid wolf to think she would do anything of the sort. To do that was certain death and what made this she-wolf assume she would put up with the company of this female?
To Sirena the whole forest had become her enemy the day her life had been torn from her. Trust, loyalty and love had been ripped from her leaving this empty shell of a once noble wolf.
"Stay back!" She warned. "Stay away and don't come closer." She shifted her weight backwards a little, tail wrapped around one hind leg. "I'm warning you." The last words were said as nothing more than a growl and she snarled once more. "I am wise to your tricks wolf." No longer was her mind on the situation at hand, but rather it was flickering back to the past. No longer was she staring into Tae's blue face but rather the face of a female beta...a treacherous wolf who needed to be destroyed.

Sirena only half heard what the wolf was saying although she could tell from the tone of voice that the she-wolf was beginning to get annoyed. Her ears were muffled as if she had her head underwater and white spots of fury blotted her eyes as she remained tensed in her pouncing postition. She could feel the blood rushing through her veins and see the wolf as she continued to speak.
She shook her head violently, teeth clipping together as she tried to clear her vision, the image of the wolf changing back to the blue stranger. One she had never met. She had said her name was...Tae. What a strange name indeed. She growled furiously, she would never give away her name, espeically not to a female such as the likes of this creature, blabbering on about how she was tired and didn't know who she was. Did anyone truly know who they were?
"Call me wolf, call me stranger I do not care." She bristled as she watched the wolf turn from her. "My name is a guarded secret that none as the likes of you will know!" She growled, not used to being spoken to in such a harsh manner. It was this that caused her temper to atleast die down a little, a rememberance that she was no longer top female, she was but a wanderer with no stable rank and no wolves to order about.
She moved forwards towards the female with an indecisive movement, unsure whether to attack or leave the female alone. "One day I shall make you regret those words to me." She said in a harsh whisper, straightening her legs to bring her to her full height, wincing a little at the pain it caused her.

What did the wolf mean by that? Contradicting her and saying that she wouldn't regret those words. A sly smirk crossed her face, not a pleasant one but the sort of malicious, psychopathic smile that crosses the face of a person before they strike. A glistening of fangs were revealed in the moonlight before being hidden once more and she lowered her head, meeting the gaze of the cool, blue wolfess...Tae.
She was approaching her again, leaving the security of the cave in a confrontational manner. She was practically begging to be attacked, so what was keeping her from doing so? Did she pity this creature? Did she fear it? No...but maybe it was a bit of both.
Empty? How did this female know how she would feel? Obviously she had never felt the thrill of a fight, the trickle of wolf blood in her jaws. Perhaps she would be able to get the upperhand by using her experience with fighting.
For a moment the she-wolf stood silently, eyes staring coldly at Tae. "Empty." She hissed, eyes narrowing. "You have no idea what I feel inside, no idea of the emptiness that flows through my body so terrible that it could get no worse." She snarled and lowered her head. "If it helps to shed blood just to remind myself that I'm alive that is what I am prepared to do." She growled again, a low sound that reverberated deep in her chest.

The female tried and failed to hide the shock from her face as the wolfess questioned her and she took a small step back, paws crunching softly against the grass as she did so. Why did this stranger care so much about why she wanted to attack and why she was always so angry? It's not like they would have much in common anyway and there was no trust left in Sirena to ever allow a wolf close to her again.
And then the wolfess spoke again, of the mate fading...dying, leaving her to face the world alone. She swallowed hard, her throat suddenly growing thick from the grief.
She growled again, a more softer sound as if she was finally losing the will to fight with this other. Her eyes darted from side to side as if searching for a way out but she remained fixed to the spot.
Then finally she found her voice, "what do you care?" She rasped.

Tae wanted to come to terms with what she had just discovered, Falcan was dead, they were his eyes which faded in her dreams, it was his whispering that eased her sleep, she trembled slightly and then shook herself back to the moment.
‘You see them don’t you’ It wasn’t a question, it was a statement. Her voice softened ‘wolf, tell me your name… come and rest with me, you need to stop straining the muscles around your fore leg, for your wound will take longer to heal if you don’t and you’ll find it hard to hunt. I do not pity you, just rest with me, we can talk if you wish or you can sleep, I am no enemy of yours’
This time when she turned and headed into the devouring shadows of the cave she did not stop, she did not look back instead she just sort out the cold hard ground of the cave floor and lay down.

Sirena paused for a long moment, her eyes fogging over with sadness and confusion. Did the female truly, truly understand the sort of pain she was in? Or was this all some sort of evil ploy to lure her into the cave and slit her throat whilst she slept?
Perhaps it was the sheer force of the memories that flooded her, a dark shape moving against the trees, those soft golden eyes glancing at her, captivating her at first glance. Even now if she closed her eyes and tried hard enough she could remember his scent on the wind, the softness of his fur as she snuggled up against him. It seemed with each passing day these memories were becoming more and more distant, and she feared of forgetting him all together.
The pain of losing the one who truly understood her was almost too much to bear. She had pushed these thoughts and memories far from her. Tried to run from them...but it seemed just a few spoken words were enough to bring them crashing back.
She trembled and raised her head to glance at the mouth of the cave. Maybe it was the fear, the fatigue or the helplessness that she felt, or maybe it was all these things but the she-wolf found herself moving forwards into the shadows of the cave. For one night atleast, she would rest here and if she did not wake in the morning she would consider it a blessing.
"Ren." She said softly as she entered, "my name is Ren." Her voice soft and tired sounding. For now that was the best that the blue female would get. Her true name would never be given to another wolf again, it would not be sounded by another's tongue except for the dark wolf that now watched her from the heavens.
"You...you lost a mate?" She asked quietly as she shifted her weight to sit just inside the entrance, eyes moving up to glance at the stars showing between the clouds.
