Kia shook her head "no, no, no.... by fellows I meant..... oh nevermind" she grinned, Chenza was amusing, if nothing else.
"Rude to bark?" Kia pondered the idea for a moment "Well.... perhaps it might be rude to bark in some situations, but I'm sure that it would be perfectly acceptable sometimes" She strolled in small back and forth paces in front of Chenza, looking her up and down as if surveying her potential to be frightening "In fact, I think that somebody your size would be able to hack up a bark to scare somebody that you were four sevenths the size of! Am I right?" She grinned, quite enthusiastic about the idea of Chenza scaring a big and mean lion with a bark three times the size of it. Kia would be so proud if that scenario actually happened.... the sparkle in her green eyes proved that much.

"Really?" Chenza asked. "I could scare someone I was four sevenths the size of?" She seemed amazed that she had this scariness potential. Well, little lion had said it was acceptable sometimes..."I'm going to try it now," she said before letting forth a rather loud yelp. Afterward, she could have sworn she heard a few stray birds flying away from the tree. "Do you think that'd be scary enough?"

She sat back on her haunches, her tail curling and uncurling around her lithe frame as she watched Chenza attempt to bark. Kia recoiled a bit at the surprising sharpness of Chenza's wild yelp, but it wasn't anywhere near as frightening as Usufii'moyo's roaring bark.
"Hmm...." she said chuckling "It certainly scared the birds, and you nearly frightened me as well! Although you may want a little more punch if you wanted to scare the big baddies" She smirked, trying to pull forth some of the information that Usu had taught her on the subject of barking from the back of her memory. Even if she couldn't bark very well herself..... she could try. "Okay so you sort of stand hunched over a bit or something..... then you let the sound grow up inside of you like a growl building and building until you sort of just let it out.... I think" With a very pained expression on her face she attempted to mimic Usufii's position, her shoulders hunched and her front legs bent slightly, she growled as deep as her immature vocals could allow her and released one akward noise that sounded more like a squeaking meow than a terrifying bark. She smiled though, nodding as she listened to her pathetic sort of mew echoing a sort distance over the savannah. No matter how sad sounding it was, it satisfied Kia "And that's how it's done." she said matter-of-factly

"Okay..." Chenza said as she hunched her shoulders as Kia had done and held a lopsided frown, as if she was trying to mimic the pained expression Kia had held. "I dunno what a bit is, but I hope this grass counts as a something." A growl rumbled in her throat, gaining loudness until a rather strange sound came out: "GROWWLRAREARAAARFF!"
The wild dog shook her head and sat down, staring at the ground. "That didn't sound like the way you did it. Maybe I need to practice more."

For a moment or two all that Kia did was stare at Chenza, her expression blank, although a rogue brow slowly began to raise after a few seconds of silence. Kia struggled against a smile for a short while and for a few seconds she looked as if she was going to burst until... "PHAAAAAAHAHAA" she looked to her paws as she continued to explode with laughter "ohhh Chenza. You silly goose, it seems you were better off the first time" she shook her head from side to side. Poor Chenza. A wild dog who seemed to have some difficulty barking viciously. Kia imagined it to be a gift to canines given at birth, perhaps she was mistaken?
Her laughter had much subsided after a short time but she was still rolling her eyes and shaking her head a moment later, not upset, but just highly amused. "Practice yes, you know what they say.... practice makes perfect!" She smirked, evaluating the hopelessness of her 'student' never even giving half of a critique of her hopelessness as a teacher.

Chenza's giggles joined the lioness's laughter; she only subdued them when Kia was speaking, and then her giggles got even louder. "I'm not a silly goose, I'm a silly wild dog! I don't even know what a goose is!" She smiled as she started to think. Practice made perfect? Chenza never saw herself as perfect; she saw perfect as something that elevated a wild dog above everyone else, and she was afraid of heights. "I don't know if I wanna be perfect at barking, though. That would scare people too much."

Kia's head tilted involuntarily as she thought "You know, I'm not sure I know what a goose is either..." she frowned slightly "It's an interesting expression.... I wonder if gooses are edible" Kia smiled as she thought of the idea of a meal and her thoughts soon cruised along to wondering if there was anything edible around the watering hole.
Her nose wrinkled as she began to sniff at the ground, eventually stopping when she saw a toad out of the corner of her eye. A grin curled across her features as she glances towards it. She was shook back to reality however when Chenza spoke of her barking
"Oh... well I suppose that would be no good. Scaring things is no fun at all..... I suppose" Kia pondered for a moment on that, in her experience scaring people was no fun because in her experience they just turned around and scared you more. Being scared was no fun at all. There were more important matters to consider though at the time, like.... "Hey Chenza, is that thing there edible?" she pointed her nose towards the toad, who croaked loudly as if in response

Chenza blinked at the strange creature that was before them. "I dunno...it looks kinda small, don'tcha think?" she asked, though she didn't want to get close to it. It made loud noises; usually things that did that were planning on doing something mean or scary. "I suppose you could try catching it or whatever lions do..." She really wanted to see what would happen, but she didn't want to be the one who provoked the little croaking thing.

Her expression lit up.
"You're right! I could catch it!" she wiggled her tiny frame as if she were preparing herself for a battle. It was her against that small croaking creature in the mud, and she was certain she would win this game. The toad croaked.
Hunkering down to the ground, Kia bit her lower lip as she locked the small muddy creature in her gaze. She smirked maliciously as her rear end wiggled, her hind legs coiling back for a leap. When all that stored energy was finally released young Kia went soaring towards her target, her forepaws ready to catch the little animal in her grasp.
She landed on the ground with a small thud, her paws caged on the ground as if she intended the keep the poor creature as a pet "I got you now you little critter!" She smirked smugly as she slowly opened her cage of paws to reveal her prey. However, once she took away her paws she realized, much to her dismay, that she was holding nothing more than air. Her lips pursed into a small pout as she turned back to Chenza "Wherever did my lunch go?"

Chenza was staring wide-eyed at the large ripples that were now in the water a short distance away from Kia. "That thing flew! Then it went in the water and disappeared...I've never seen anything do that before!" The wild dog frowned. "I dunno if you'd want that for your lunch anyway. I know I wouldn't want its flying powers. I'm afraid of heights."

the pout still etched across her lips, Kia looked from Chenza to the water and stared at the ripples "Darnit!" she said, stomping her front paw with vigour. "I bet that stupid thing was a bird. I hate birds. They can all just go away." She snorted, apparantly in the general direction of the water "Fine, you flying creature, you dont deserve to be eaten by me anyways!" she raised her nose and turned her backside towards the waters' edge.
"Thank you Chenza, I agree, I dont know how I could ever eat anything as vile as a bird." Kia told this to herself, but somehow her stomach still began to rumble, as if in defiance to Kia's wishes "hmph."

"I didn't know birds could swim," Chenza said, staring at the disappearing ripples with even more awe and admiration. "I'll bet it was a mutant water-bird! It's definitely a good thing you didn't eat it."
The wild dog blinked at the rumbling of Kia's stomach. "If it helps, I saw a herd of gazelle in that direction earlier," she said, nodding vaguely in the direction opposite from whence the lioness came. "I'm not really hungry right now, and they might have moved, but you can always try. Do you know how to hunt?"

She nodded. Indeed, she did know how to hunt. Unfortunatly, she had never actually tried to hunt anything as large as a gazelle. Mostly she went after shrews and rats and things to the nature. Perhaps she could find something on the way to the gazelle herd... she never had trouble finding small rodents in a pinch before.
Her stomach gave a lurch and she looked towards the direction Chenza nodded towards "Yes I suppose it's worth a shot."

"Good luck to you, then!" Chenza said. "I am glad to have met you, Kia. I promise to practice my barking every day until I'm as good as you!" she said. The poor creature still thought that a bark was supposed to sound like the sound that Kia had made. Still, trying to bark had been amusing and fun. "I hope that we meet again someday."

"Thanks" she added smiling, her gaze still drifting over towards the direction the gazelle herd had gone "Perhaps we will see eachother again. You never know, but I sure hope we do!" she nodded as her feet began to carry her towards her lunch "Farewell!" she said over her shoulder, just before she had traveled out of sight ((the end xD
