"I reckon it's safe t'say that." Nick said, nodding. He was, in fact, rather new to the area, and the sand and dust did no bad job in making him feel sick every morning. At least there was an oasis, that he had to say. The water there was purer than any he had tasted, and the grass sweeter and somehow greener, for that measure. It was a wonder how it was that a patches of the world's sweetest grass had come to settle in a barren old desert.

"Is it also safe for me to assume you don't like it here? From what i've found most horse from up north don't like it here..." Mer said. SHe had talked to Varun and Tynan and both said they prefered the cooler weather of up north, and that the shiftign sands was, at first, a chalange for them to walk on withough triping.

Nick smiled. "Ah, yer a smart lass, that y'are." He nodded. "I'm not the biggest fan o' this forsaken desert, to be sure. But I can't say I don't like it." He shrugged. "At least not anymore." He added.

If horses could wink, Nick most surely would have at that moment. Instead, he gave Mera a disarming grin. "Why, you, m'lady!"

Mera blinked, a bit taken back. "m-me?" she asked, unsure if she had heard right. "I...i'm not sure if i understand, Nick..." she said.

Whoops. Nick knew how forward he could be sometimes, but he still rarely stopped to think before talking. He was too outspoken for that. Used to saying the first thing on his mind. Far from being embarrassed, however, he nodded. "Well, you're one of the first horses I've met outside of the yurt, and frankly, I think you're great." He shrugged, trying to look nonchalant.

"I hardly doubt that me being the first horse you met outside your yurt would have much of an effect on you." Mera said. "Is there somthing you trying to hide or are you just bad at wording things?" she asked.

"Mebbe a liddle bit o' both." Nick said. "Well, ah... see, I've met a lot of horses in Europe - mares and stallions and geldings included, o' course, the place I lived wasn't small - and I think I can easily say that never've I met another horse that makes me feel quite as happy as you do. And I sure as an'thing haven't met another horse quite as beautiful as you are, miz Mera."

Mera blinked. "I find that a bit hard to belive, i mean, i know i'm not ordinary looking, after all, i do have soem what unique markings, i can thank my mother for that, but here must be another horse more beautiful then me." she said. "but, i don't think there is any way i can argue with the happy-ness comment, seeing as thats really your own feelings...but how would you know, wou have barly known me, i may be the most boring person on the planet but you haven't been around me long enough to figure this out." Mera said. she reilized she sounded a bit negative, which was kinda odd for her.

"well i'm not that intersesting, i have no great stories to tell, no amazing feats of bravery, no tails of sadness...really...i haven't done much of anything..." Mera admitted.

Mera remained quiet after Nick's remark. She had no idea why she was suddenly putting herself down. It made no sence to her. "I supose you are right." she said after a long pause.
