.][DIARY ENTRY][. You would think that leaves would be a common occurance in a house like mine. Half of it is made up of gardens, and I think we've got ten or fifteen trees planted around the outside walls too. But it's not common. Autumn hits our trees faster then most, and while my sisters think that the red and gold splatter is beautiful... well. It's a pain in the a** to clean up. Not that I do, but I hear the servants complain. Narayan found a leave, today. Or rather, I did, picked it up and forgot clean about it. It's bright green, and healthy-- none of the sick little mouth prints by bugs (I find them morbidly disgusting) or the stiffness of leaves that only _appear_ to be healthy. No, the one I found and the one he discovered is fine. I just don't know why I'm keeping it.
It flew into my office one of the days last week-- I can't remember. I thought the humming that keeps accompanying it was from the window, or some wierd wind trick-- I've heard some brats can do it, make leaves sing by folding it into some shape. But it's not the wind. Not really. The leaf seems to be possessed. Either that, or a tiny, tiny bug lives on it and I haven't discovered it yet. I'm hoping for the former. At least possessed leaves can't breed. Bugs can.
Sick.
Narayan was looking through my room for spare cash, when he found it again. It had settled near the dustbin, and had started to hum again. Quite... feminene, really. I don't know what to make of it, and we've decided to keep it for now.
Keeping it a secret from my sisters, though. They can be quite melodramatic and I'm not up for it yet. Considering telling someone else, though. Maybe I'm going crazy. I guess drinking too hard can do that to you, huh?
Although.... that doesn't say much about Rayan. What the hell has HE been doing behind my back?

.][JOURNAL ENTRY][. Thai Curry and other methods of torture.
JD wasn't sure what had started it off, at first. It was a decidedly morbid game- maybe it counted as torture. But he couldn't stop. There was something intristically fascinating about what he was doing to the leaf.
Rayan had been involved, at first. He could clearly remember the boy asking what they were going to do with the leave. 'You can't just leave it around, it could get lost, swept away... or, you know. I might eat it. Elephants eat leaves, right?' The D-Corp kid had developed an odd fascination with his genetic side, the asian elephant raising questions that JD didn't know the answers to. Not because they were deep, but because he was clueless about animals in general.
In fact, now that JD spent some time thinking about it... it could place quite correctly what had started it off. Narayan, helping one of his aunts bring the food to the table and...
'Rayan.' he knew, he knew that leaf. It was too supple and thick to be like the other garnishes. In fact, it looked nothing like the thin lemongrass that adorned the other plates. 'What the hell do you think you're doing?'
Narayan smirked as he placed the thai green curry in front of his father. 'I thought I could make it sing. You know, the heat?'
JD looked down, at the way the ends began to droop and picked it out. 'You're killing it!'
'You know, leaves don't usually survive long off the tree. Technically, you could say it's already dead.' the boy reason.
Yes. Yes. JD had to agree, that this was what had started it off properly. Narayan had tried to kill the leave and so JD had tried to find a better place to keep it.
Firstly, he had kept it under a paperweight. It had looked kind of pretty, the way he could see the different shades of green magnified under the clear crystal.
'Dad, I think that counts as suffocating the leaf too. I mean, I wouldn't want to be squashed.'
So that had ended the first experiment.
Next, he had kept it in a bowl of water. Candles shaped like lotuses drifted in the bowl too, with colored crystal at the bottom. It had been a gift from an old friend, and he thought it looked kind of pretty. Zen, like.
'Dad, I think you're drowning the leaf.'
That had ended the second experiment.
Keeping the leaf in a picture frame had his son accusing him of killing the leaf in another method of suffocation, thoughts of pinning it to the board had bought more accusations and taping it across the window had been given the same reaction.
So in the end, JD gave up.
The leaf still sits on the desk, haphazardly blown around the room whenever the window is left open. But so far, it hasn't met anything mutilating yet.
So far.

.][DIARY ENTRY][. My father is crazy.
Really.
I found a leaf in his room and was going to throw it away, except he put up a big fuss about it. I don't know what he likes about it-- it's just a stupid little green thing. But he's keeping it, and now he's throwing a fuss because he doesn't know what to do with it.
If I pretend to believe him, pretend that the leaf is real... well, then he's probably traumatized the poor soul to death. It's tried to drown it, suffocate it, stab it to death... I wonder. Do you think this is one of those voodoo doll things, and someone out there is suffering?
...
Cooool.
I worry about him a little bit though. He never evem noticed the porn lying around my room the other day!
Huh.
Well, he's gone crazy. Hopefully it's not contagious.

Tyyne whistled as she carried the orange flowerpot slowly towards the next house. She enjoyed doing these trips, because it always made her feel special of some sort. Carefully she placed it on the porch, added a small package of soil and an envelope.A letter from Eden
Dear JD,
I'm not sure if you've heard of us yet, but we're an organization called Eden Project. The leaf you have found is a very special one. It will grow into a child if you take care of it. I know it sounds strange, but that's how it goes. To start the growing process you need to plant the little one. That's why I've attached a flowerpot and the soil. Every leaf seems to react different to this so please be gentle. Feel free to visit our headquarter near Barton Town.
Have a nice day

.][JOURNAL ENTRY][. A child, was it? Staring at the pot that was now on his desk, the packet of soil that lay on it's side and the letter that he could very well recite by now, JD scratched his head as if this was the most troubling thing in the world. And it was. What was he supposed to do with another child? And even bigger... maybe it was better to pretend nothing had happened at all? After all, the leaf had been through a lot already. Maybe it was... better to put it to sleep.
"So, da, you gonna plant it?"
The voice that spoke quietly by his side had JD utter a tiny curse. "Narayan, I told you the office was a sanctuary!"
Narayan had the nerve to look hurt as he smiled. "I knocked, you know. And you let my little brother or sister in..."
"It might not be your little brother or sister." was his automatic response. And JD didn't even have to ask how the boy knew-- Narayan was sneaky, alright. And he wasn't surprised that the boy already knew about the letter. Heck. It was probably the elephant who had found it first.
"Of course it will be." the boy walked forewords, and as JD reached out to hold on to him, Narayan merely stretched out with his nose and picked up the ltter. "See? Future child. Now... I think I should be the real da."
"Narayan." his voice was tired as the boy continued to examine the pot.
"And what an ugly color. I think gold would have been better. Do you think the plant won't grow if we plant it in another pot? What if my little brother or sister has bad taste, because it grew up in an orange pot?"
"Narayan." weary, now. Honestly. "Aren't you suppposed to be reading your book?"
"Oh...that." the boy sounded a trifle disappointed as he let the letter go. "Yeah. I'm reading it. I just thought I'd ask... thats all."
JD shook his head as he continued to stare at the pot. Another child? Even if it was true... could he handle another thing like Narayan?
"Da?"
"Uh huh?"
"If you do plant it... can we grow it in my room?" Narayan asked, and his voice was startilingly shy as he smiled. "The light is good you know."
And JD sighed.
Another child. Heck. He could handle it... right?

.][DIARY ENTRY][. I'm crazy.
I've planted what seems to be a leaf inside a pot because of a letter I recieved from a stranger. I've put the pot in my son's room because the boy gave me those broken eyes, and ... well. It seems easier to deal with, knowing that I'm not the one who wakes up to it every morning.
Still. I'm quite suspicious as to what the boy is up to. Who knows what he's planning with the future sibling? Heck. Who knows what he's planning to do with the future sibling? A boy who goes around showing a Sports Illustrated to a near stranger is not someone I completely trust with a vulnerable leaf.
But its been done, and I'm quite proud of myself.
I haven't told anyone, at the moment. I think I'd rather wait and see if this is true, or just a hoax. It wouldn't do to have my sisters laugh at me... or my friends. Hopefully it is a hoax. Because Narayan is more than enough for me.
At the same time...
To have a little girl, or a boy that is more of a boy then Narayan?
Hmmm. That would be...
Fantastic.

After a long period of inactivity, the leaf finally seems to be...Doing something. It has sprouted into a little bush covered in red berries, and is wriggling from its roots.
What's up?

.][RP][. It was Narayan who noticed it first. And it was he who stared at the plant, not out of wonder but with a sense of curiosity. What would the red berries fetch on the black market? The plant had clearly proven itself as being... well, indestructible, so surely if he took just one or two nothing bad would...
"Ak, what is that?"
JD was not exactly the calmest of men. Seeing a plant sprout red berries was like watching a little boy get pimples. Completely unexpected and hinting at something unknown and therefore dangerous.
Narayan smirked. "I bet it'll get you high really quickly though" which earned him a resounding smack on the head.
"Watch your mouth boy."

Like something out of a botanist's acid trip, the green parts of the plant thin and elongate and spill out of the pot, which has continued to wriggle with increasing speed. Hairline cracks appear in the terracotta.
No, seriously, what the hell?

.][RP][. JD soon enough regretted hitting his son on the head. Because seriously, this was starting to look like something out of a horror movie. Wondering if maybe this WAS going to be an apocalyptic end to his own life, he put a hand on Narayan's shoulder.
"Rayan, I want you to go outside, and get a pair of..." what? Shears? s**t, the hair line cracks were appearing too rapidly for him to consider actually doing _something_ about it.
"Maybe there'll be a giant and a golden hen at the end of this?" Narayan asked hopefully.
JD didn't get it. Not really.
Which prompted another whack on the head.
"Focus boy. Go outside and get the biggest garden shears out of the shed." Best have one of them survive.
"I bet this is revenge. You know."

With a crash of shattering pottery, the pot crumpled, exposing the contents that had been causing so much noise. A green-haired little boy sat among the shards, looking rather pleased to finally be free.

.][RP][. This was... this was...
Well. This was certainly different.
"Da, do you want me to cut her hair off with this?" Narayan sounded abruptly skeptical as he ran back in with a pair of average sized blue shears, and JD blinked. He was staring too.
Apocalyptic this certainly was not.
But it still had it's merit.
"I um..." JD started, and paused.
"I don't think it's a girl."
The figure, the child, sitting before him looked mildly insulted to be considered such, but his smile was sweet, and to be sure, not quite masculine as he sat there looking smug.
"Well, maybe he'll grow into it." Narayan started, and grinned. "So what's his name?
