What! :0 GIR has lots of depth!

He might be silly and malfunctional most of the time but we all know he's truly evil inside. If GIR hadn't been "borked" he would be just a regular robot sidekick who could actually perform his tasks... but this SIR Unit becomes interesting and you can't really picture him as a tool of destruction/invading... I know many who felt uncomfortable watching "GIR Goes Crazy and Stuff" =P

Well duh, that's why people like him. He just spouts dumb lines and screws things up, therefore paving the way for new plots.

Yes, Gir is very short when it comes to personality. But I think that is why people love him. You can always guess what Zim is thinking, and his plans will come out as wanting to take over Earth... always. But Gir is extremely unpredictable. You never know what he will say and it's always funny when he does finally speak.

I think people love him because he's so simple. He's one of my favorites and I thunk that he's so cute because hes so stupid.
