Kaleb smiled as he thought about what it might be like to live in the same house- castle?- with Demyx, but it was somewhat hard to imagine. He expected it would involve lots of cookies.
When Nonet pressed him about his earlier explanation of his current studies, he bit his lip as he puzzled over how to best rephrase it. "Essentially it's about spells that modify the properties of objects and organisms."

"So turning things into other things. Kinda like Alchemy? Just with magic? Or am i wrong?" She liked magic stuff. Neither of her parents were really into it but she figured if she could make thoes portal thingies she could do other stuff too.

Kaleb nodded, smiling a bit more enthusiastically. "It is like turning things into other things, but not exactly. I could make this wooden bench feel like a stone bench, but it would still be a bench."

"So you can change stuff into other forms of whatever it already is...." She though about that. It wasnt as cool as alchemy but that was neat.
"So .. you could turn a silver ring into a gold one and trick someone?"

Kaleb's nervous habits seemed to come back with his caution, and he chewed on his lower lip a bit before replying. "Theoretically it is possible."

She though about that for a moment. "Father would love that. Then again he'd probably take it somewhere and gamble it away and then he'd get in trouble somehow." She giggled. "Could be fun on april fools though"

Kaleb relaxed a bit, those topics were always better left to casual conversation if you didn't want to find yourself in a big mess. "I-I'll make sure not to mention it to him then," the mage said with a bit of a smile, he wouldn't want to cause any trouble.

Kaleb's eyes widened at the thought that Luxord would know such a thing, that was rather scary. "T-there's a small bookstore in the city that sometimes has new books in, but usually I have to order them."

"Really? can you show me?" Her ears perked up at the though of maybe getting a book about the stuff. She'd love to be able to read more about it since getting into the libary at the castle was a little hard

She hopped up and tossed the last of her now soupy icecream into a trash can. "I've got time" technally she should get home and not get caught but the idea of books was far too tempting.

Kaleb also stood, using a simple spell to shrink down his book until it was small enough to stick in a back pocket. "Okay, it shouldn't take long to show you there." He started to lead the way out of the park.

"That's good." She followed along, tail swishing behind her. As she watched the book shrink her eyes widened. "That was neat ..... wish i could do that." But no, all she could do was make a silly purple portal

Kaleb smiled, it felt like such a routine spell that it was interesting to hear someone comment on it like that. "It makes carrying my books around much easier," he replied, glancing over at her as they walked. The small bookstore wasn't much farther. "Do you also practice magic?"
