i like 3d best (I'm a sell out like that).
I like both. But 2D has the edge.
3D graphics aren't worth anything to me without a decent game to back them up. And as far as I'm concerned, none of the 3D titles've hit the raw addictiveness level of something like
S3+K.
They just seem to've thrown in all of these new tricks and gimmicks like shooting, grinding and adventure fields, but forgotten the raw platform engine that got the franchise where it is. I liked levels I could explore and find multiple solutions to - if I want a shoot-em-'up or a racing game, I'd buy those genres.
And besides - who wouldn't rather see Tails' 2D yawn or any of the
Sonic Advance 3 character animations?
wink Actually, you aren't talking about 2d or 3d graphics, you're talking about the gameplay. As far as 2d or 3d gameplay goes, it depends on what you like to say which is better. Personally, I'd prefer the complex levels in SA2B to the platform stages of the older Sonic games and the Sonic Advance games. For graphics, I wouldn't be too surprised if they soon eliminate the actual 2d graphics that they've had in the Sonic Advance series. If you haven't noticed, its been getting almost as close to going into a 3d platformer as the GBA can handle. I don't know much detail right now, but the next announced Sonic game (Sonic DS, coming in March for the Nintendo DS) will more than likely be 3d. Whether they're keeping the sidescrolling-platformer style or the newer style of the Sonic Adventure series, I don't know. Once I get a source where they give me this kind of information, I'll go ahead and talk about it.
