Where: Evangel and Hoshi's house
Who's involved: Rune, Kitch, Hoshi, Alexia, and Evangel
About: Alexia's Legend

Rune padded up the walk, glaring behind her at the wolf-sized creature that trotted at her heels. "You didn't have to come, Kitch." She snapped, looking up at the house. "It's not like Flint couldn't find out about Alexia on his own. And I wanted to visit with Hoshi."

"You're right." The voice was a low alto, cheerful in spite of the Water Slider's obvious irritation. Resembling a lupine Ki-Rin with paws rather than feet, the golden-brown furred creature tilted her head, pearly scales and horn glinting in the late afternoon sun. "And you can visit all you want. I simply wanted to say hullo. And no, you cannot drop-kick me into the nearest well. There isn't one."

Grumbling to herself, Rune turned and knocked lightly on the door. "Hoshi? Are you here?"

From the living room came the soft patter of small feet as Alexia made her way carefully towards the door. Inside the living room, sleeping on her back was Hoshi. Tired from taking care of three children on her own while Evangel was away on one of his trips. The likes of which she never knew. Nor remembered to ask. Fihanna had departed, as well. As well, for reasons Hoshi never asked.

Hearing the door, and not wanting to wake her mother, Alexia decided to answer it herself. She could walk. She could talk. Reaching the doorknob might be a challenge, though. But why wake Hoshi from her nap? When she'd been working so hard with three babies? Stopping before the door, she reached up, barely touching it.

"She's sleeping," she called back, letting her hands drop down in frustration. "You can come in, anyway. I can get her." She padded off back to the living room, nearly tripping and falling in her wobbliness.

With a dark blue flash, the creature behind Rune appeared suddenly in front of Alexia, presenting her side as a furry hand-hold for the toddler to grab hold of. "Don't worry about that, little one." Kitch said softly, nudging Alexia upright. "We know your Mom must be tired. Rune, the lock's a normal one, just above the door."

A moment later, the door clicked open softly, and Rune slipped inside, closing it behind her before smiling at Alexia. "Hullo, Alexia. You've certainly gotten big. Do you know how long your mom's been sleeping? Are your - " she paused. Hoshi'd had a boy and a girl, hadn't she? "Your brother and sister awake?"

Giving a slight start, the toddler allowed herself to be righted, than laid one hand on Kitch?. "Alright," she agreed, blinking a little at the unknown creature she wasn't taught about by either Hoshi or Evangel. She turned to face whoever had come through the door, now a smile on her lips at a friendly face. "Since the twin's slept. She sat on the couch, than went sleep. Can't tell time. Been there long, though. No." With her free hand, she pointed up the stairs. "They sleep, too."

Kitch nodded, not moving to make sure Alexia was stable. "My name is Kitch, Alexia. I'm a friend of Rune's." She tilted her head in the direction of the Water Slider, who muttered an impolite word in Common Illuzen tongue before ruffling Alexia's hair. "Then we just won't wake her. People deserve a rest. Are you hungry, sweetie?"

Evangel, feeling the unlocked doorknob turn easily, stops just short of opening the door. Dropping the hood from his face, Evangel moves his left hand to door in order to free his right. Using a sword in the house is probably a bad idea, he thinks, which leaves my magic. Wish I knew how they got in without triggering the runes. Evangel's right hand raises and summons a ball of blue coldfire, seemingly acting of its own accord. Evangel slips the door open silently, seeing a humanoid form just ahead, and a bestial form near his surrogate daughter. Alexia! Evangel darts behind the figure and presses his left hand down upon its shoulder, pressing one claw into the junction of neck and shoulder and another into the back of the neck with just enough force to dimple the skin. Seeing now that the bestial form is a Slider, he wraps his right arm around the humanoid's arm and presses the flame against its body, just below the arch of the ribs. "Alexia, go get Hoshi. Slider, let her go or your friend is not going to be very happy. My daughter is not getting kidnapped again."

Of all the crap - Rune muttered a curse in Common, water leaping from the air to smother the flame near her ribs as her own instincts kicked into gear. It's cold - ice flames? Not a Water Slider. Water Element? Mentally, she ran through the list of weapons and powers she had, shying away from the Fable and Rare Blood. That's just what I need, blow Hoshi's house up. Only thing reachable -

Her left hand flicked out and around, the hilt of her wrist-blade dropping from its sheath to her palm. Damnitall to hell, I should have kept the wards up -

"But you thought it was safe. Which it is." Kitch laughed, her voice absolutely amused as she read Rune's mind. The Greet turned to look at Evangel, tail wagging. "Calm down, dragon man. That's Rune, not a - well, huh. Technically, you did take her the first time."

"You're not damn well helping, Kitch." Rune paused, hearing both Kitch's comment and Evangel's voice. Dragon man . . . "Evangel? It's me, Rune."

"Rune?" Evangel releases her and takes a step back as he closes his right hand, disrupting the ball of lighting he had prepared. "Sorry about your neck," Evangel smiled mischieviously as he wiped a small spots of blood from the first and second claws of his left hand onto his silk pants, then winces as he looks down at the spots. "That is not going to come off."

Rune laughed softly, rubbing the back of her neck as she looked at the bloody silk. "I'm sorry too." She said sheepishly, flushing. Wiping the blade absently across the leg of her jeans, she sheathed it again and twitched her fingers at the blood spots; they rose slowly from the fabric, forming a small ball of liquid that floated out the front door at another wave of her hand. "I didn't know you'd be home. Back. Either or."

"And being Rune, she didn't bother to lock the front door." Kitch tsked, grinning blithely as Rune made a rude gesture in her direction. "You're very fast, dragonman. Or is that wolf man?"

"Kitch, you're being insulting."

"Fair question. I am a bit of both, actually. Half dragonnewt and half werewolf. And I just got home, Rune," Evangel turns and closes the door. Reaching up, he taps a spot in the middle of the top of the door frame. A rune glows to life in the touched spot, then a string down either side of the door frame. A moment later the runes fade. "Forgot to tell her about that lock." Turning to his guests, Evangel smirks. "That one can't be picked. How are you Rune? Long time no see."

"I dunno, bet Livie could give it a good go." Kitch's eyes flashed teasingly, and Rune aimed a kick at the Greet's side. She wouldn't actually do such a thing - for one thing, she might accidentally hit Alexia - but the threat got across. Turning, the Water Slider sighed and smiled. "I figured I'd drop by to check up on you guys. Been a bit busy digging out Crystal Village and such, but I never - I didn't properly get to thank Hoshi."

"Well, I am afraid my knowledge on that subject is more than a little limited. May I offer the two of you something to drink? Eat?" Evangel moves past them to the kitchen, picking Alexia up along the way.

"Mommy sleepin'," the toddler repeated to Evangel. "On couch." She pointed towards the living room. "We too much for her. No wake."

"You hungry or thirsty, little one?"

"Where you go?" Alexia asked Evangel instead of answering him. Since Hoshi was asleep, she took it as her job to ask. It had been a while since he left. Slightly unusual, in her eyes.

"Daddy had to go look for something. Now I believe I asked you something," Evangel repeats as he walks into the kitchen.

"Look for what?" she pressed, not about to let him off. One glance at the living room proved Hoshi to still be asleep. "Mommy would want know."

Evangel looked at her with one eyebrow raised. She was growing too forward. "Daddy was looking for clues about Mommy's past, for one thing."

"Oooooh," she replied, making a circle shape with her lips. "Want me stop asking?"

"I think that might be a good idea, dear."

"Tell mommy?" she asked, ready to end it there so long as Hoshi got to know what he was doing. Leaving her home with three babies without an explination, for shame.

"Yes, I will tell Mommy. Not until she wakes up though."

Rune nodded and followed the pair into the kitchen, keeping her mouth shut. Evangel apparently had some explaining to do, and if Alexia wanted to ask about it, well, that was the toddler's choice. Instead of commenting, she glanced back at Kitch, one eyebrow raised.

"Oh, alright. It's a nice idea." Kitch sighed and shut her eyes, the horn atop her head glowing with a silvery sheen. When it finished, the toys were stored neatly back in their containers, the things formerly out of place returned and the clutter straightened. Satisfied, the Greet padded after the trio of humanoids. With three kids all needing constant care, she doubted Hoshi would have much time for housecleaning - Rune certainly hadn't. "Do you perhaps have some water, dragonman?"

"We have fresh spring water, courtesy of the well I built this house over. And for you, Madame Rune?" Evangel removed a bowl from the cabinet, filled it with water, and carried it over to Kitch. Returning, he removed a glass and filled it from a pitcher at the back of the refrigerator. Moonflower juice. A gift of the gods. "And you, Alexia, need to learn to pick up your toys when you are through with them."

"The twins, too," Alexia replied. "And the cats." Well, it was the twins mess in the living room, on the blanket. The cats had pushed all their toys around the bottom floor. Carried the softer ones upstairs. Seeing as stairs were difficult for the toddler, she hadn't of followed them up.

"You did? We do?"

"Yes, love. We do. You should show them, Alexia. You are older than they are. They will look up to you."

"They walk, too?" Alexia shifted her weight, small arms going around the man's neck for better balance. One hand eagerly took the black(looks at cert) Pegasus? from Hoshi hands.

"Don't even have a hug for me?" the Dendra teased, coming around to his side to avoid his wings. Without waiting for him to make the first move, she wrapped her arms around him below Alexia, giving his cheek a small kiss along the way. The toddler recieved one of her own as Hoshi released Evangel.

"Rune!" came her startled and embarrassed cry at seeing the other woman. "I didn't know you were there. It's nice to see you again. What brings you here?"

"They will learn to walk eventually, sweetling." Evangel answers her as he rolls his eyes at his wife's reaction.

Blinking, Hoshi glanced at the glass. "I'm still half asleep. Not cordinated(sp?) fully yet." Yawning, she brushed at her dress to straighten it out from the twisty look it now had. "Nice," she mumbled under her breath. "We get guests and I was asleep."

Evangel chuckles at her reaction. "They snuck in, by the way."

Rune grinned cheerfully. "Don't suppose you have a diet soda." She replied to Evangel's earlier comment, winking at Alexia before flicking a teasing look at Hoshi. "Awww, you looked so cute sleeping, it would've been a shame to wake you up. And I just came by to say hi, see how you were doing."

"She wants to say 'thank you for not kicking my arse when I was an idiot,' but it sounds funny." Kitch commented, bowing in thanks to Evangel before lapping daintily at the water. "This is delicious, thank you."

"Cute, sure," Hoshi grinned in disagreement, embarrassed by the compliment. She now bowed her head as she continued brushing at her dress, more to hide it than to straighten. A sidelong, mock glare was shot at Evangel. "I'm sure you'll now laugh and say I fell for something, right? Least I don't snore."

"All fine," Alexia grinned happily, answering one question before Hoshi could even think about it in her head.

"Nope, you're quiet and sweet. Rune babbles like an idiot in her sleep." Kitch's eyes gleamed, tail swishing as the Water Slider shot a death glare at her companion. "And the house looks better, too, for three babies."

"I will chain you in the garden." Rune threatened the Greet, who only smirked. With a sigh, she admitted sheepishly, "I did want to say thanks, though. And see how you were, how the kids were, that kind of thing. And I brought over some information about Alexia's legend."

"And Evangel snores like a thunderstorm," Hoshi teased, obviousily trying to make up for lost time. Or at least get back at him for any other baits he'd set on her. Raising her head again, she turned her attention off of the man. "It's easier when two out of three sleep most of the time and can't move anywhere to spread a mess." She laughed at that for a second, before a smile returned. "You're welcome. Though I'm not sure what I did."

"All fine," Alexia beamed again, raising her arms in emphasis this time.

"Her Legend?"

Rune nodded. "It seems like the Konokai are all - well, they were created for something, some sort of purpose." She held up a finger. "They've got a reason they were created," she held up another finger, "and something they were created in the image of. We've been calling it a legend. For Dray, Shaz and Nikki, we've figured out part of it. Their looks are based off the crests of three famous Fey Clans - the Fellain Dragon, the Skyshorn Silver-cat, and the Komo'ora Shadowed Leaf. We were kind of lucky there, since we had pictures of those to compare."

Reaching into her back pocket, she pulled out a scrap of rather worn parchment. "But we think the stuff we found in Crystal Village was related to Alexia's legend."

About: Alexia's Legend

Hoshi looked with puzzlement at the parchment. "When it comes to what happened that day, I'm still completely lost. These things are.....very confusing for me." She got the first part. "And Alexia's?"

Hearing her name called, the toddler paid more attention to the two women talking than comparing her wings to Evangel's.

"Rune could probably explain all of it, but it would take a while." Kitch commented cheerfully. "Fey weren't well known in this realm - jeez, I'd be surprised if Gaia ever came to the attention of a Hub. But this bit about Alexia might be the Legend she was created to look like."

"Hush, you." Rune gave the Greet a sharp look. Explaining all the bits of Fey lore would have to be done for the Guardians eventually, but she still didn't like the idea of admitting to Rare-blood anything. It sucked. Unfolding the parchment, she offered it to Hoshi. "Take a look at the sketch on there. Doesn't it look like a grown-up version of Alexia's baby form?"

Hoshi took the parchment, holding it carefully in her hands as she took a look. Curiousity now sparked more, Alexia tried to lean over Evangel's arms to see what the Dendra was looking at, wings outstretched as far as they could go between herself and the man's body.

"Yes, it does," Hoshi replied, unable to come up with anything more to say than that, seeing as she didn't know anything more than that.

"We think that's who Alexia was originally supposed to look like." Kitch sat at Rune's side, tail wagging. "From what we can tell, she was a sorceress of some kind."

"Unfortunately, none of us read Glyphic, so we're stuck." Rune commented with a sigh.

"This does show how little I know, when I didn't know there were different forms of Runic," Hoshi attempted at a joke. Within a split second, though, she was seriousness again. "So I suppose it was how I raised her and who she was around that changed that?" Looking between the picture and the toddler in her husband's arms. Obviousily for looks.

"Glyphic? Here, I may be able to read it," Evangel enters the conversation. Moving up behind his wife, he switchs Alexia to his left arm and looks over his wife's shoulder at the parchment. "Which reminds me. While I was out I found nothing that spoke of your race, love, but I did find a few other interesting points of info. We all remember that last mass kidnapping," Evangel grins at Rune, "but there is another one going on. All over our world someone is kidnapping children with odd features. Whispers are going around that whoever is doing this is searching for something called 'Rare-blood.' Might that have something to do with this topic?"

Rune nodded, grinning at Hoshi, then stuck out her tongue at Evangel, making a horrible face. It hadn't exactly been her fault with the kidnapping, but she still felt like a guilty idiot over the whole thing. If she could bring the b*****d Mythos back, she'd kill him again, slower -

- just then, she caught the rest of Evangel's comment, and her jaw fell open. "They're - they're what?!" She demanded in a kind of breathless half-squeak. "Are you - did they - how many?"

Kitch's ears perked, and she sat back, tail still. "Ooooo boy." She muttered. "Runie's in hot water now."

"You were looking?" Hoshi asked, surprised, turning her head around enough to look at him. "I'm interested to know how you would even know when you've found anything or not." When she turned her head back around, she caught Rune sticking her tongue out and laughed, stopping just as suddenly as starting. "More kidnapping?"

Alexia, becoming quite bored while the adults talked, leaned forehead and wrapped her arms around Hoshi's neck, making the woman jump a little. Resting her chin on Hoshi's shoulder, she looked at the parchment.

"I didn't know. So I just did my best to remember or record every piece of information that seemed relevant. As to how many... there is a broad range. I came across towns where there have been no kidnappings, others where there have only been a few. Even one small city where there have been hundreds. Someone very much wants whatever this Rare-Blood is."

Ignoring what the adults were saying, Alexia looked at the parchment in her mother's hands. She turned her head one way. Than the other. Looking at it from all angles. She'd probably even turn her head upside down if her position in Evangel's arms allowed it.

"Lexi," she said softly.

"Not quite, little one," Evangel replies to the child, hearing her. Gently he runs one finger down her spine, then kisses her cheek. "Do like the picture?"

The toddler gave a start at the man's touch, than a slight shiver. She continued looking at the picture, fascinated by it. "Dragon," she told him, obviousily a yes to his question.

Evangel chuckled, then tickled the little girl.

Alexia squirmed around, giggling and trying to get him away.

"Evvie, don't make her fall."

"I won't, love," Evangel answers as he lifts Alexia's shirt enough to blow a raspberry on her stomach.

"You're the one making her squirm," Hoshi protested, releasing the toddler's increasing grip around her neck and placing them on her shoulders. "And making her nearly choke me."

Rune watched the byplay with a dark look in her eyes, though she shook herself as Alexia pointed to the picture. "We think so, little one." She grinned, casually booting Kitch with her toe as the Greet started to say something. "Maybe a long time ago, huh?" Amused as Evangel tickled the toddler, she winked. "If you're a good girl and help your parents, maybe we could take a visit for you to meet some big dragons. What do you think?"

"No wings," the toddler commented, looking at Rune and the picture. If this was her, or supposed to be....She liked her wings, better. She beamed at that, and more so at the dragon comment. "Yes. Help twins walk. Help pick toys up."

Evangel chuckled their reactions. "I think that might be a pleasant trip."

Rune grinned, pleased. "I'll kick my cousin and tell her to arrange it - have some friends I wanted to take anyway, and her Wing can show us around. Don't know if you've met Kirea, but her cousin and mine are best friends, and they've both been there before. Perfectly safe for kids."

"Unless you're Chloe or sent to muck out dragon stalls." Kitch laughed. "Maybe there'll be a Hatching or a Miendrake escape. Or a Miendrake hatching! Someone else can come home with the little buggers for a change."

"You just don't like the fact that they nest in your fur while you're sleeping."

Evangel laughed. "Hear that, Alexia? If you misbehave, you might have to clean out dragon poop from where the dragon's live."

Hoshi bite her bottom lip. A trip to be around something she'd never seen, made her nervous. In terms of what were considered mystical beasts...the only one she'd seen was herself in a mirror. "How big are they?"

"I good girl," Alexia protested, hoasting herself off Hoshi's back tp cling to Evangel's neck, instead.

Evangel chuckled at the little girl's reaction. "Well, love, dragons can range in sizes. It depends on the breed."

"Than maybe I'll stay behind," she said rather nervousily, fiddling with the skirt of her blue dress. Like human nature, though she wasn't really human, she was wary of the unknown.

"And yet, the dragons may know something of your origins, beloved," Evangel commented as he encircled her in his wings.

The woman gave a jump at the silvery wings, her breath escaping her lips in a small gasp. What a thing to have done while thinking of dragons. Her cheeks reddened a little in embarrassment. "What? How?"

Alexia leaned forward again to wrap her arms around Hoshi's neck. Looking up at her mother's face, she giggled. Mommy always looked funny when her cheeks turned that color.

"Dragons are ancient creatures, beloved, with long memories. It is very possible that one or more of them have encountered your race before," Evangel rested his chin on his wife's shoulder as he made that last comment.

"Than you ask," she protested," and I'll stay behind." Yes, she was ready to fight this to the end. They'd have to take her kicking and screaming to see dragons. Well, maybe not screaming, exactly.....or kicking....but, yeah..you get the picture.

"Mommy's afraid," Alexia cooed, getting comfortable between her parent's two bodies.

"I....no, it's not..." Hoshi stammered. "Okay, it is." She put on a small sulky face at being tricked(if that's the right word to use) by her own daughter.

"You really should come, beloved. You may even enjoy the experience."

Where: HQ, I think.
Who's Involved: Cody, Chloe, Hoshi, Alexia, Astraea, Castor
About: Nothing in particuliar.

"Mooooom! The Miendrakes got through from Aunt Ri's again!"

Cody sat on the roof of the Center porch, a huge grin plastered on his face as what looked like a multi-colored tornado cloud zoomed out from the bay windows. Small offshoots dipped and swirled around, breaking from the main group to flash this way and that. Higher up on the roof proper, Chloe lay on her stomach, knees bent and ankles crossed as she eyed the display. Aeris stood beside Cody, wings fluttering slightly and with an even brighter grin.

Down below was Hoshi, just approaching the Center. Getting some much needed time away from home. Taking care of three young children for over a month all on your own was extremely tiring. With Evangel home, at least she could take one or two and go off somewhere on her own.

Too wobblying to walk this far on her own, Alexia had been allowed to stay in Hoshi's arms until they reached their destination. Of which she would be on her own feet.

Astraea eyes widened as she caught a glimpse of the rainbow tornado. "Look Castor" she said with a grin, pointing at the display. A bright grin spread over Castor's face, his small hands clapping in excitement. He giggled, his hands still clapping frantically. Astraea smiled as she continued to walk toward the centre. There was still much she had yet to learn about the Konokai and she hoped that she would find the answers she sought.

"Aunt Hoshi!" Chloe waved, Aeris giggling as Cody hopped up and did a handstand off the porch roof. Landing squarely between Hoshi and Astraea, he grinned. "Hullo Hoshi, Lexi." Then he tilted his head, distracted by the second Konokai and Guardian. "You're new - who're you? Aw, sweet, it's the little Pirate guy!"

Looking up, Hoshi raised her free arm and waved back. "Hello, Chloe. Long time since I saw you last." Than, silently," My, I feel old." With a chuckle, she bent down to let Alexia roam on her own. "Hello again, Cody."

"'Ello, Cody," the toddler returned, wobblying as usual on her feet, gripping Hoshi's leg for support.

Astraea smiled warmly at Hoshi and Cody. "Hello" she replied brightly, "I'm Astraea and this is Castor". Untangling Castor's from her midnight locks, she placed him gently on the ground. Castor's emerald orbs regarded the other children curiously. So far he had only met Nikki and none of the children here look anything like her. His eyes widened as he noticed Alexia's wings. Tugging at Astraea's pant leg, he pointed at the Alexia.

Cody beamed, eyes bright, and ruffled Alexia's hair. "You look awesome, kiddo." He grinned up at Hoshi, having heard perfectly well what she said. "You're not old - you're cool!"

Chloe, on the other hand, simply vanished from the roof, appearing a second later at Hoshi's side. She smiled, almost shyly, then patted Alexia's head before bowing to Astraea and Castor. "Hullo. I'm Chloe, and this is my brother Cody and my sister Aeris."

"Know things about me I don't?" Hoshi joked. If she felt old now, what would she feel when the children weren't children anymore?

Alexia felt small. Chloe wasn't that big last time she'd seen her. Everyone was growing taller. While she hardly grew. Well, not that much. One thing was for certain, though. She'd always be bigger than her siblings.

"Hello," the Dendra smiled back at Astraea. "I'm Hoshi. Nice to see a new guardian."

"Lexi," Alexia grinned, patting her chest. "Full name too hard." She looked up at Hoshi for help.

Cody smiled at Alexia, his eyes shrewd and bright. ~Don't worry about growing up, kiddo. You'll do it on your own time. Besides, Chloe didn't get cool wings.~ His voice was gentle in the toddler's head. Then, head still tilted to one side, he looked up at Hoshi measuringly. "You don't look older than Mom or Aunt Morgan, and they're hardly even twenty. So that means you're young in human years, right?"

Astraea gave a small bow in return. "It's nice to meet you all" she said with a smile, before dropping to crouch beside Castor. Her eyeline moved to Alexia's wings, as she tried to hide her shock at seeing them. Although she was becoming less surprised by the day, first having met a neko and now a winged child. "They are called wings Castor" she said, gently lowering the child's hand, not wanting to scare Alexia.

Castor grinned back up at Astraea. "Ings, ings" he repeated excitedly, clapping his hands together as he laughed.

Alexia blinked in surprise, looking at Cody. Voices in her head wasn't that new. Fihanna had when she was in fox form, and Hoshi during Unicorn form. First she'd heard a person do that.

"Yes. Though I don't even know how old I am in my own races years." The smile left her face at mention of her unknown race. "I'm 18."

Hearing the little boy, Alexia glanced over at Castor, fluttering her silver wings slightly. "Dragon," she replied proudly.
Cody grinned mischievously. If Astraea thought Alexia was a sight, she should try seeing some of his aunts. Or some of the strangers in the Lounge right about now.

Speaking of which -

"Daggon! Piyate!" A small voice cheered, obviously pleased. Toddling toward the group, a little child that looked somewhat like an elven toddler beamed, arms held out for balance. Of course, somewhat was the operative word. Most elves didn't have feathered wings on their back. Or jewel-like scales forming designs around their eyes, with streaks of color in their sparse hair. Or rather large, pointed ears. The small child giggled, pointing. "Daggon, Piyate, un-corn. Lay-de."

Astraea grinned once more at Castor, before stading to her feet once more. Hearing Hoshi speak of her own race she couldn't help but be curious. "What race are you Hoshi, if I may so bold as to ask" she stated, her words sounding as polite as she could muster.

"A...agon?" Castor asked, puzzled at hearing this new word. Climbing shakerly to his feet, he stummbled toward Alexia. His hands reached for her wings, his eyes wide as he did so.

"I honestly don't know," came the reply. "Nor did my parents. But whatever it is, I'm pretty much half unicorn, half human." Would Evangel actually find information? she wondered. Her hometown must be thousands of miles away. No way would he find it. The only clues were her sudden visions and dreams. Which consisted of nothing but a battle between a herd of unicorns and humans against some fire maned and tailed ones.

Folding her wings against her body, Alexia simple watched Castor. Little contact with other children was making her slightly shyer by the day.

Astraea gave a small nod. "That is certainly an interesting combination" she replied, her eyes shining with warmth, "although I imagine that it must be hard not knowing much about your heritage". Castor's pulled his hand back slowly, sensing Alexia's hesitation. Lowering his eyes, he turned and stummbled back toward Astraea. Latching onto her leg, he hide behind her, his lower lip trembling ever so slightly when his gaze fell on Alexia.

"Very much. Specially after I had twins. Don't know if anything is going to happen to them later on or not." A smile returned as she tried to lighten the mood a bit. Her heritage was never an easy subject for her. "Cept the whole quarter werewolf, part."

The toddler on Hoshi's leg opened her wings again for balance, letting go of the woman at the same time. She hesitated only cause she had her baby sister grab one of her wings, once. And it hurt. She now understood why her father didn't like people touching his. She'd become just as sensitive as he was about it.

She walked over to Castor, sitting down on the ground near him, a friendly smile on her face.

"Quarter werewolf?" she asked, puzzled that there could be so many differant species in one person. "I must admit that I have learnt alot over the past few days" Astraea stated, a bemused expression on her face. Although she knew of the races of which they were speaking, she had never before considered that they would all combine successfully.

Castor watched Alexia as she walked toward him and sat down beside him. Noticing her smile, her grinned back sitting down beside her. He reached toward her wings once more, although slower this time. "Ings prit..ty" he said in a awed voice.

Hoshi laughed slightly. "Yes. From their father's side. He's half werewolf, half dragonnewt, thus his features are.....different. Alexia gained her wings from him. Than there's whatever I am, which I know is pure." Must be whatever those plain unicorns in my visions are.

Alexia extended them as far as they would go, not being as large in width as Evangel's. He could wrap both himself, Hoshi, AND her with them. She could barely wrap herself. "Careful," she cautioned. "Nicely."

Now Astraea was definately confused. She had though that Konokai were adopted, and had no idea they could take on the characteristics of their guardians. "Isn't Alexia a Konokai?" Astraea asked, frowning slightly, "so how is it that she gained wings from her father?"

Castor gave a slow nod, showing that he understood. Gingerly he placed his fingers to her wings. His grinned at Alexia, his excitement seeping into his emerald eyes. He stroke them gently, his fingers bearely touching her leathery wings.

"She is," Hoshi replied. "But Konokai can gain features similiar to the people they bond with. Am I right?" The last part was directed at the others.

Alexia relaxed, not nervous anymore about the boy toughing her wings.

Cody nodded. "Gracie got the mark of Thunder, just like her brothers." He agreed, grinning at Castor and Alexia. "None of us took after Mom, but it can happen."

"Thank you." Hoshi smiled warmly at the man besides her, as he slowly put down a heavy white fountain at her feet.

"No problem, ma'am," he replied with a kind smile and a tip of his hat. He brushed his dirty hands on his work pants. "My pleasure. Enjoy your fountain." And with another tip of his hat, he turned and left for the waiting trunk on the side of the curve.

.~.~Alexia Journal Entry #1~.~.

She chewed on her pencil, leaving little bite marks near and on the eraser. Up against her back was a beautiful tan colored unicorn stuffie. Smaller than the much larger pink one at her feet. Oh, what he would do if he saw them. Not that she figured he would mind, really. But he acted so manly. It would be so funny to hear him say he liked having the unicorns on the bed. It just.....didn't seem normal if he did.

She settled herself more into both the unicorn and the pillows behind it. They weren't all the original pillows that were on the bed. Two were from her own bed. A rug hooked wolf pillow she found in the closet. A few more from the same closet. All the extra padding made for a very comfortable place to sit. She dug her lime green colored feet into the pink unicorn and opened the book probbed up on her raised knees.

Dear Journal,

I watched Mommy writing in hers. I think I get how she did it. I'm supposed to tell you my experiences and life, right? That's what she did. Than I'm sorry, journal, that I can't write a happy first entry. An introduction before I get to that. Would you like that? So you'll know who you are talking to.

My name is Alexia. I don't think I have a middle name. My last name is Dracosir. I don't know how old I am in human years. But it's been a little over a year since I grew from my item. I don't wish to tell you exactly what I am. I don't really know, myself. I know I'm not what my parents are. I once saw a picture of what I was supposed to look like, when I'm an adult. It was strange. No one told me who it was. But when I was smaller, and saw that picture, I straight away knew it was me. And there was a dragon. Curling around the adult me. But I don't think I'll look like that. Because I have wings like my Daddy and a gem like my Mommy. Though not quite like hers. Mommy doesn't have one gem, but six smaller silver ones arranged on her forehead. I've noticed many times that they glow. When she was pregnant and getting sick in the mornings, they would be faded and pale until after the afternoon had past. I didn't understand and I still don't. But I think her gems fade when she's sick. So my sister and brother must have made her sick. I wasn't born from her like they were. I came from a shard in headphones.

Mommy's name is Hoshi. I don't know much about her past. She once told me she used to live far away, with her adoptive parents. She doesn't know in what direction. Daddy was looking, but he can't find any signs, either. He's away a lot. I don't know where he goes or why. I don't know what he does in his shop. But when he's here Mommy's always around him. I don't understand that, either. But I know what affection is. I was taught that when I was very little. They both show it to me. When they do towards each other, it's different. I miss them. Trinity won't tell me where they are. But she keeps telling me they will come back. I'm worried. Something's not right. Mommy has never been gone, too.
