And not to mention the amounts of homes, dorms & apartments in each town and city.

The third game allows you to unlock Roy, Hawkeye, Armstrong and Boxer!Ed for the Extras mode. If you clear through that, you have to fight not only Bradley, but Gran.

If you want to beat Bradley in-game, I suggest being in your third or so play-through, saving up your Skill Points and items. It is not easy, and all for one dinky item....

Heh I figured as much they always drop items you would never use in the in game if you beat them. Like the 2-3 hours I spent trying to beat scar in the second game for his glasses? And I never used them. Nor did I use Roy,Armstrong or Riza's items either.

I just wanted to use Roy in the extras part of the game cause the graphics are better than dream carnival so it should be a little more interesting to see how the character plays.

Beating Scar is so easy for me now, give Al the Aluring Cologne and run! Thats my tactic. Im so horrible to my NPC companions its not even funny xDD Even though Im a total Roy fangirl, in my second game, Im like "Your on your own, see ya!!" I also like making Al tackle off of ledges and cliffs on my first game, I find it very amusing. Also, making the control stick go up and down repeatingly, on a ladder, saying "I like to move it move it" when playing both games and blowing everything up with Lvl 2 flash grenades, or in the first game, I mess around with the pogostick and the bubble wand XD I also like the cows in both games, GO HIROMU ARAKAWA! It seems that the only NPC Im nice too is the cow and Riza o.o And I heard the third game might come out this year! I cant wait to hear the new characters voices! Like Sophie's!

Sophie's voice is cute enough. I wouldn't trust the dub with her, as the dubs have been a grand failure across the board, but, as her seiyuu is an accomplished singer I'm a bit suprised they didn't have her seiyuu sing the theme songs (Kanashimi no Kizu). Instead, Wrath's seiyuu's latest-at-the-time pop single was used.

In the extras portion, Roy has a long distance flame attack which, as long as you hold R1 and tap constantly in order to focus aim, seems to near never miss, and a good widespread cover flame-wall. He's not good at all for closeup (whereas Dream Carnival Roy can handle his own in melee with a good fast jab, a jump-flame that's close up and a decently fast kick move). I recommend pairing him with Armstrong, as Armstrong's great for close up enemies and human sheidling; Al works as well, as he has a more developed/programmed set of skills. You can't pair him with Ed, and the RoyHawkeye team in FMA3 is pretty damned shitty, as Hawkeye, too, is very much a distance R1 trigger aim character. Hawkeye, with anyone else, though, is great for getting your combo score way up there with a bunch of 1HP hits.

Your pretty much spoiling the whole game to me.. I would like to find out this crap myself, really o.o;; And I like the dubs, they cant get any worse then the scrips from Chrono Crusade, its not the voices are bad, but it some of the chars seemed to pause inbetween words xDD I liked all of FMA's chars voices and the scrip wasnt too bad. Atleast the voice actors knew how to voice act. And I would actually like to understand what the chars are saying in games, even though the japanese voices of FMA are way better then the english dubs (personally, I think Aaron did a better job in voicing Al then Rei) So, I will eagerly await the arrival of the third FMA game in english.

I didn't find the dub voices bad at all either. You want a grand failure of a dub go listen to the dub of Bleach. I can't stand to listen to 4 seconds of the dub. Since that one I am hesitant to watch the English version of any anime if it is from funimation.

The one thing I don't like about the FMA games is how Hawkeye is such a cool character and yet because she wields guns instead of using alchemy. She mostly only takes 1 hp. When I played the 2nd game with Roy as a 3rd character I could basically leave him by himself to fight. Though when I picked Hawkeye I had to fight everything because her attacks did nothing. It's like why even bother putting her in the game if her attacks are gonna suck. (even the though combos are nice)

Shall reserve my issues with the FMA dub for a more relevant thread... Though, I would like to point out that the FMA dub is, even with acting and vocal quality aside, wrought with translation errors and script liberties from randomly calling a character by the wrong rank to adding humor, subtext, dialect, etc. As the games aren't quite as complex a story, being as self-contained as possible, it might not be such a severe concern for fans on the game releases, I guess.

I believe the point of Hawkeye as a partner is to get your combo score up there so you can get major experience points boosters. Or, maybe she was just a nice treat to the Hawkeye fans? Hawkeye is a rarity these days in that she's a female character, and most of her fans are also female, accourding to the Eigo no Renknjutsushi book (which also tells us that Winry's unintentional beauty is a sin XD).

Raichu: Don't consider it spoiled; hearing one person's go at a character's programming doesn't make it gridlocked. While I think in FMA3 I went with programmer's intent, in, for example, Dream Carnival, I happen to get a completely different play useage out of most of the cast. The guidebook they put out lists Roy as a strong support and a weak frontman, Ed as a weak support and a great frontman, Haekeye as decent either way, etc... In that game, however, because Roy has a fast jab, a punch, punch, kick juggle combo, and some close up flame attacks, I tend to favor him as my frontline man, which makes teaming him with Hawkeye (whom I also find as a far better backup than front liner) a bit of a weakness for less offense from your flanks. Thus, in the guide, where it lists the difficulty level for each story-mode pairing, while it says it should be a cakewalk when you play the Hawkeye/Roy scenario, because the AI's Roy is so stuck on backup, it's a bit difficult. It also says the AlGreed and RoyEd scenarios should be some of the hardest because they aren't 'programmed' as a complimentary combination of skills, but, with Roy and Ed both taking frontline aggressive tactics, even the Fuhrer went down easy, and in AlGreed, Greed us frontline enough to protect himself while Al does backup attacks splendidly with his distance alchemy use and terrain manipulation.

It also says that the EdWin pair should be easy. x-x Took me over an hour and a half to get through that, because the AI controls Ed in that, and Winry is pretty much useless unless you play super cheap and bombspam---though, if you bombspam, particularly against Greed who has no long distance attacks, Winry becomes the GODDESS OF WAR. Anyone who's ever played 1v1 mode Greed vs. Bombspam Winry have any tactics besides building up your sheild so you don't get a knockback and comboing her until you get a whiffed move she exploits to bombspam again? I'd like to hear them...

Whew. Sidetrack babble.

Thus, I'd presume that, depending on your partner management, you might get an entirely different experience from the long overdue use of some backup characters in FMA3. It's also the first game where you can switch over and play Al through almost the entire game (besides some points where you need to get Ed through tiny holes and such places to pull switches to allow Al to get through levels). Though, since Ed dying still ends the game, I'd recommend sticking with him just because the AI hasn't gotten much brighter....

The AI's are never bright.. I waste most of my Elixirs trying to keep Al alive in both games.. o.o

I'm a horrible big brother in those games. I just wait for him to die and use alchemy to bring him back. I practically made him fight Scar by himself, in 2.

Yeah I let Al die too just cause I don't wanna waste healing items and he will never get mad at me. XD

I should let Al die, but I never like too. I appericate Al more then I do Ed. XDD I always feel guilty when I let Al die.. And the result of my guilt is that in the first game, I fought Genz as a ternimator-like referance form, and used the Elixirs on Al more then myself, then when I finally defeated the boss, I had almost no Elixirs left O.o And I ran around like an idiot with almost no HP left half of the game, and I lasted pretty damn long XDD
