And as quickly as she was nervous, she flipped back into her normal skin, and it felt good. She snapped up, her head arched back into her 'I'm better then that' mood.

"Only Bakari would do something like that," she teased, giving him a good smack on the shoulder. "Who knows, maybe you are?"

Laughing, she bounded in front of Bakari, swished her tail while peeking back at him, and bounded off. She might not know where she was going, but she was sure that she couldn't get too lost in the pride that was hidden away with walls on all sides. And besides, if she got into trouble, she could always try to pin it on Bakari.

He gave Latifu a 'Please, honey' look, before smirking at Latifu's playfulness.

Feeling roudy himself, the male quickly scrunched his face up at Latifu. "Eeeew, cooties!" he squealed, before he ran after her. "Now your germs are all over me!" He stopped, and staggered around. "Oh.. no! Germs.... overtaking.. mind! Can't.. control.. hormones!" he cried out, before tossing his head back and crying out in 'pain'. Hopefully she hadn't run too far, so that she might watch his transformation.

Once he regained his normal stance, he began to prowl after Latifu. "Why, Laffy, my love, you're looking simply heavenly today! Simply heavenly!" He batted his eyes, before presenting the teal lioness with a dashing smile. Two could play at the game of childishness!

Latifu gagged at her friend. "Cooties! Just look at the jibberish you're saying!" She laughed again, and sprinted off to keep the distance between them, her limbs flexing while she bounced through the lush grasses that the Unity Walker pride had in their canyon.

Though she was certainly being graceful in her movements, she was not paying any attention of where she was going, and soon found out that she should learn that.

Instead of the grasses still being there, it cut off into a stream of nice, cool water. And the teal lioness soon met that cool water as she tripped into it.

Bakari burst out laughing as Latifu's antics quickly ended at the stream.

"Welcome back, Latifu!" he started, sitting next to the fallen lioness. "Have a nice trip?" He smirked playfully, before nudging her onto her feet. "Silly lioness... you need to watch where you're going, unless you want to end up lost!" Bakari smiled proudly, almost arrogantly. He certainly knew more about this place than she did!

After a few laps of water, and a little bath, the lion flopped onto his back, looking up at the thickly-covered trees. What little beams of light slipped through the foliage danced on the ground, lighting up the male's face. "Latifu.." he said quietly, at first. "Will you be happy here?"

Still grumpy that she was now soaking wet, plus had leaves stuck to her soppy coat, she grumbles as she pulled herself up onto the shoreline, staying just far enough away from Bakari that he wouldn't pull anything silly, but hopefully close enough that she'd get him wet. By shaking!

With a grunt, she shook herself, bits of water flying off, but sadly not as many leaves. She huffed, her face one that might remind them of a pouting child, before she began to pick off the leaves that were stuck to her coat. She wasn't too sucessful, though, with her wet paws, and soon grew frusterated.

She knew that Bakari himself took a bath, but she had waited around before he wandered off. She gave up on the leaves and followed him, not expecting him to just, flop over. "Uhh...." she started, before he began to talk. "Maybe if I get these damn leaves off." She was unaware of what Bakari was doing, too absorbed into plotting on how to make her coat dry quicker then rolling in the grass, which would give her bits of grass ontop of leaves on her coat.

The male looked over at Latifu, confused, before smiling. "Aaw, but you look so cute with them on," he teased, taking a leaf and tickling her nose with it.

Tossing the leaf aside, Bakari looked back up at the trees, resuming his deep-thinking position. "I mean... will you be happy here.." He paused a bit, before looking over at the lioness, who was now covered in grass, leaves, and maybe even a bug or two. "With.. me?"

Bakari's heart nearly did a somersault as he said it, before it began pounding against his chest. What else could he say, aside from something unthinkable, such as, 'I love you'? Hopefully, should he ever say that again, he'd not just blurt it out, without even thinking of it's meaning, like last time. "Latifu, I.." He sat up, looking down at the stream. "I know that.. moving to a new pride, finding a new home.. is very rushing.. but... well, I.. I-I wanted to talk to you about something.."

Latifu's tail trashed a bit as Bakari tickled her nose, still full of irritation and little bits of frustration. She gave up, and flopped onto the ground near Bakari. She was tired, and a bit sore after her fall. Streams weren't that deep, and she did fall a bit backwards.

"Hmm?" she questioned why Bakari was getting flushed again. She could certainly agree with everything feeling like it was flying by like a sparrow, but she was trying to not think about it too much.

Bakari suddenly wished he'd asked his dad about love, as he continued on. The pale blush began to creep back onto his face as he said, "W-well, it's just that... I mean.. you've seen how large.. m-my family is... and, well.."

A lump in his throat began to grow, the size of an ostrich egg. Bakari kept swallowing it down, before he continued. "W-what I'm trying to say is... I just... sometimes.. thinkofyouasmorethanafriend.I-Imeannottosaythatwe'reNOTfriends,b-butIjustwantedtoletyouknowthatI'vegrowns-sortoffondofyouand,well,Idon'tknowwhatelsetosay~" Bakari kept rambling on, and his face grew redder and redder. By now, he was speaking quickly about the birds and the bees, and Riku and Moyo having families, and him and Latifu. Poor little lion was so nervous, half of his sentences couldn't be understood.

Latifu couldn't really catch anything that Bakari was saying, only very few bits and pieces. WHy did he do this? Ugh! So annoying! She glared at her friend, hoping that he'd catch it.

"Bakari. You're a good friend, but do you always have to jumble your words so much? I....can't understand a thing you're saying, besides little cubs. And uhh...no thank you, not now." She lashed her tail on the ground before rolling onto her back, rubbing into the grass to get at the itches that were developing from her back twitching. "Geez, just suck it up and say it, dork."

Bakari stopped rambling long enough to hear Latifu's response. What did she just say?! Well... his heart was going too fast to argue now!

"I--you-- ... will you be my m-mate.. Latifu?" he asked with a cracked, shaky voice. By now, his face had gone from a pale blond to a blood red. Every inch of Bakari's body trembled with fear, excitement, and nervousness. Suppose she said no? What would he do?! Then again, he expected a 'no' from Latifu, seeing as she so kindly replied to him before. Still, his eyes kept looking back and forth between Latifu's and the grass.

....and Latifu didn't know what to say. Bakari said something that her little naive heart should of know, should of seen, but her mind just pushed away as him being a silly boy. She stopped her rolling, her movements frozen as her mind tried to get over the shock.

"Wait.....wait, what?!" was all that stammered out of her mouth. No way...he wasn't asking her that now, was he? He must just be teasing her, and he'd laugh if she gave him a serious answer. But...he did go quiet...and he was kind of red...

"Please?" he whispered, before closing his eyes. What more could he say? Bakari's heart was on the verge of giving him cardiac arrest as he awaited Latifu's words.

Suppose they did become mates? Oh, Bakari would be the happiest lion in all of Africa! Of course, he'd present her to the rest of the family. His brothers and sisters would be delighted to see they have yet another in-law! And of course.. well.. his other siblings had raised families... Bakari's face turned slightly redder, if that was lionly possible.

"Uhh....uhh..." she was at a loss for words, her throat had started to go dry. What...what should she say? She rolled back onto her belly, her face keenly kept away from him incase it twisted in a way that Bakari didn't want to see, of embarassment.

"Well...um...maybe we could...try?" She was flustered, and oh, how she hated this. She would so try to get back at Bakari for this, because obviously, while it wasn't a joke, it was leaving her very uncomfortable.

His eyes shot open, at their fullest. D-did she just say yes?! Oh, gods, Bakari could do a backflip right about now!

"Really?!" he exclaimed, sitting up. He suddenly felt his body feel as light as a feather! "Oh, Latifu!" The male scooped his new mate into a hug, nuzzling her cheek and purring at his loudest. "You've made me so happy, I... I-I don't know what to say!"

Of course, he knew exactly what to say a few seconds later. Once the goofy hugging and nuzzling had subsided, and the two were left in an embrace, Bakari whispered quietly to Latifu, "I'll do my best to make you happy, too. I promise." Hopefully, this promise would be one that he'd never break.

Latifu wasn't too thrilled with his sudden clinging, but obviously she said something right. She only said maybe, right? Well...she didn't know exactly how she felt, so she didnt' want to just shoot him down but...geez, couldn't he be a little bit...calmer?

While she didn't push him away, she was a bit stiff, and flushed when he heard him speak. Well....she sure hoped so! "A-alright, Bakari...." she said, the words growing warmer at the end. Well, this certainly would complicate her life now!
