O ya I heard that in Latin America they were burning American Flag's and President Bush dolls (Because he was visiting there, and about the whole Iraq thing) I mean just because they disagree about what bush did shouldn't burn OUR Flag and disrespecting America itself, Its Chain of Command we just follow orders...If anything they should just burn bush dolls... Personally, Flag burning is disrespect to the Red White and Blue in my opion and therefore should be illegal unless you want to get shot or get your country's a** kicked... ((Hope i said everything right and got all the facts..))

Fatima al-Faqadi "It's the soldier, not the reporter who has given us Freedom of the Press. It's the soldier, not the poet, who has given us Freedom of Speech. It's the soldier, not the campus organizer, who has given us the Freedom to Demonstrate. It's the soldier, not the lawyer, who has given us the Right to a Fair Trial. It's the soldier who salutes the flag, serves under the flag and whose coffin is draped by the flag, Who gives the protestor the right to burn the flag." ~Father Dennis Edward O'Brien, USMC I vote no to that amendment I agree!! My husband dosn't fight for the flag, just so others can burn it!!

Its something our whole country did. Congress okayed action in Iraq, therefore it wasn't just the President, it was the whole of the United States of America. Personally, I think that burning dolls of our President and Commander in Chief is just as bad as burning our flag. However, I do not believe there should be laws against either. But that I think was pretty much apparent in my earlier post.

Hmmm you make an excelent point, but still The United States Flag Reprents US as a people, our believe's and freedoms, where as the Bush dolls only reprsentied him and what he though, still your right neither should be burned.... And you have to remember Congress chose war, not the people, even if we put them in power... there just doing what they thought was best. So i think it sounds a little over Zelous to say our WHOLE country, where as a few people made the choice.

the fact that they are burning Bush dolls points out what we have and what they don't.
the U.S. is run by three different branches of government: the judicial, the executive, and the legislative. our country, unlike theirs, is not run by one person alone. if they really knew what we had, and knew how it works, they wouldn't be burning bush dolls and american flags only. they would be burning the judges, the lawyers, the senators, the soldiers, the police, the congressmen, the state representatives, the speaker of the house, the VP...
which brings me to my next point: they do not have what we have. because of this, they are jealous. period.

Fhar Hey, y'all are all military fanatics, so I have a question for ya. How do y'all feel about the proposed Flag Amendment that's been hanging over the head of America for who knows how long? One one side are the people who say we should protect the flag against desecration by passing the amendment while others argue that such an amendment would undermine the 1st Amendment right to free speech and thus the flag itself. So, what's y'all's opinion? Although I hate seeing it done, it is one of the ultimate expressions that the USA is indeed a free nation. Since it is an expression of freedom, that should not be taken away from people.

Americans shouldn't be burning flags. If they are going to disrespect the symbol of their freedom, then they don't deserve the freedom it represents.

I agree with Daedalus Project. We shouldn't be burning flags, and if they do. They don't deserve freedom, at least in this country. They should be shipped out, to another country, and denied citizenship for a couple years.

I think the flag should only be burned as a proper "burial" persay for it. When the flag is withered and torn and no longer fits "American" standards. I think when it is done with disrespect that person should be tried for high treason. Many people died just to carry that flag and many will continue to do so. I am very pro American. I respect my rights to be here. With the first amendment there are also exceptions.

you know people came to this country to be free, but to me burning the flag hurts me (kills me inside) i kno i will not burn the countries flag for a stupid a..s reason. a lot of men have sacrificed their lifes and the red means blood blood from the brave, courage.... and i honor that blood and she shall fly in my room day to night!
she is 3X5 and i just had her for about less than a year
i think mabe. yes because those jerks have the rights to do that to the flag. and no because it is too much pain to see her burn. so that is a mabe.
if i ever burn the flag, my uncle is gonna let me eat. it he will force it in my mouth and you know what i will accept the fact that he have done that to me and i hope he shoot me in the head right after he made me eat the ashes of the flag i burnt.
i mean i wont and will never go to Iraq and burn their flag because they have done nonthing to hurt me that bad..... i dont even kno them so i may hate em a little bit but i wont just go there and just start butning other flags..... i dont fly their flag but they should get a little respect.... and that respect is not burning their flag.
that will be stupid if i burn another countries flag because i hate them LOL. but thats what they do to our flag i want revenge, well that will definetly be stupid.
now i can go on but i really dont express my feelings out like this.
