Cloud's love interest is depended on who plays the game thus controlling Cloud. Square-Enix made it so vague that the player could control whoever they wanted Cloud to like and dis-like. Further evidence is the date scene, another option that is based on who the player chooses to be nice and mean to, heck, some people even got Barret as their Cloud's 'love interest'. Even in Advent Children, it remains very oblivious as to he really likes. if I were to have seen the movie without actually playing the game, I would have thought none of them would be his love interest.
To sum it up, there's no hardcore evidence as to who Cloud had and love interest in, just a lot of circumstantial mainly from the side of Aeris and Tifa.
Oh, and, Zack loved, or was at least Aeris' Boyfriend.

what was the promise that cloud made to tifa before going to try to join SOLDIER? (you don't need to put a quote or anything. just tell what cloud basically promised).
