With the compound destroyed, Konoha would be off his back for a while, even with the death of their Shinobi. Of course, if the Copy Ninja was among them, it would prove a bit more difficult.

"What is it, Kabuto?" Orochimaru asked, picking up a few scrolls and stuffing them away into his custom flack jacket. He would need them if something unexpected happened, though he highly doubted the plan would fail.

Ah, his old student. He hadn't seen her since their meeting in the forest of death. He would have stuck around longer, but he had a few things to take care of. "Keep her alive, I still have a use for her," Orochimaru said simply, walking toward the door.

Once they reached the compound, Orochimaru melted into a nearby tree trunk, suppressing his chakra signature down to nothing so he couldn't be detected. He watched closely for signs of Konoha's squad, finally spotting them as they approached the building. Most of them, he didn't recognize, but one... that one was definitely Anko. He smirked. The man he had positioned inside didn't know of his plans, but he was disposible. He knew they could dispose of him easily, so he wasn't worried in the slightest.
(Oh, sure. We'll just rewind a bit to before this, like a flashback of sorts.)

Anko groaned. "Man, why do I have to do a dumb mission like this, why not a asome A rank mission". She grumbled.

"You were one of the only ones available to take this mission. It's urgent, so we had to collect people as fast as possible." Tsunade said, a frown tugging at the corners of her lips. Sure, it didn't pay as well as a higher-ranked mission, but the client had specifically noted that it needed to be done right away, lest more people die.

Anko hugged Tsunade and went to her team. Anko was happy that Tsunade came back to the village, she had remember when Orochimaru would take her to see the other Sannin. She liked it, Tsunade was always kind to her. Jiriya was to but now she really didnt like going around him for good reason's. She sighed. 'I wonder what it would have been like if Orochimaru had never left'. She thought.
