"Uh...let's see...carry the one...I forget." Ren sighed, stiffling a giggle, "It's been about...maybe nine years since I've seen her though..." What she forgot to add, was that the last time she'd seen her, she'd been in a casket.

Kaano shook his head, barely managing a smile. "Heh...wow...nine years...are you even sure she'd even recognize you? The last time I saw her was right before I came here. She threw a giant going away party for me, and all of us got drunk, passed out, and woke up the next morning in the middle of a forest with our clothes off."

"Nekked, eh? Not too good at making first impressions, are you? As much as she hates me, she'd recognize me in an instant." she grinned sheepishly, "Eheh...we never had a good relationship..."

Kaano laughed, "Well, as for the naked part...we never really figured out how we got out there. It was a giant group, though. Not just us two. And as for first impressions...from the sounds of it, you aren't exactly one to judge, seeing as you did just say that your own daughter didn't really like you all that much. Sounds pretty dysfunctional if you ask me."

"Eh...dysfunctional is such a negative word. I dunno. Maybe it was because I left her and her brother when she was three. But there was a reason for that, and she didn't understand it. I think she was jealous that I had other children, that I left her for them." she laughed, which soon became a pathetic sigh. "I need a smoke break. Do you mind if-?" she asked, taking out the small metal case and lighting a long cigarette.

Amos shuffled in the class, not sure of what was expected of him. He didn't want to take this class, but he had been pressured. actually, it was more the outcome of a lost bet than anything else.
"So..." He muttered, watching the two people in front of him with a faint interest
"Was I supposed to bring my own puppet?"

Kaano stared at her, almost surprised that she thought that he might be offended. "No, no. Doesn't bother me one bit." He heard footsteps at the door and turned his head, barely seeing the kid through his thick hair. He was actually somewhat surprised to get a student, in all honesty. He was thinking that it might actually be the reason why they couldn't seem to keep a consistent teacher for the class, although it didn't really bother him. Ugh...crazy people...don't they know that a lack of students means more time to go out and drink? "No, of course not. I will be supplying you with a puppet."

"good, cause I didn't bring one."
His voice was flat. He didn't really want to be here, but he wanted something to could give him the edge in a fight, as his natural abilities weren't all too great.
