Sunrise looked down at her side and groaned. She had left her book-bag outside under that bloody tree! She would have to go back, her entire life was in that thing! She quickly ran put to the tree where the grass was still wet from her tears. She looked up from checking that none of her things had been stolen, she saw several people against another tree. she swallowed, knowing that not a lot of people spoke to her at school. Well, that wasn't completely true, Slytherins liked to push her around because she was smaller, and call her mudblood, relishing in the fact that she wasn't brave enough to do anything about it.

Lily saw Sunrise under the tree. "Excuse me Potter." She went to talk to her friend. She didn't know her as well as she knew Emily, but she was a friend after all. "Hey Sun. How was your summer."

"Nice to see you too, dearest flower and subject of my love." James said to Lily, grinning. Then looking at Ronnie, he replied, "Ah, but who else? Trials are Saturday, but if you could come to the training field Friday afternoon after classes, we could do a little pre-test to see if you've worsened over the summer." He laughed, standing up. "And since I know you haven't, I'll be glad to have you helping me pick the rest of team, eh Ronnie?"

<<V3R0NiiCA R0NNii3 Ronnie smiled. "Well of course I haven't gotten worse! I mean, how can I have gotten worse?" She laughed. "Yea sure I'll help out." Then after thinking a minute. "Hey, have you see..um..Sirius around lately?" She asked him slowly, barely curious, trying not to sound very anxious, but failing miserably.

Sunrise looked up again, her hair falling all over her face, slightly surprised that the redhead was talking to her. she could feel her face turning bright red just because she wasn't used to conversation. "Fine," she said quietly, hoping the fact that she had just been crying wasn't too obvious, "I guess." She turned her attention back to her bag, and discreetly wiped a stray tear away, making it look like she was itching her face. "I should go, time for breakfast," she said quietly again. It was almost as if she didn't use her voice enough for it to be developed properly. Something surprising happened though, she didn't move. she just stood there, looking at the pretty girl in front of her, envying her beauty and desireability.

Lily smiled at the girl. "Do you now remember me? I guess I did grow a lot over the summer, and we only met the once. Will you tell Emily hi for me? I'm going to be busy again this year, and since we're in different years, as well as houses I'll rarely be able to hang out with her."

Sunrise stared at Lily for a few moments, then nodded silently. She looked down, trying not to be rude. "I should-...I should go," she said quietly. "I'll tell Emily you said hello." With that, she walked past Lily hurriedly, dreading the fact that she would have to pass James and that Ronnie girl to get to the castle. It wasn't as if she didn't like them, but she just knew that they wouldn't talk to her. And even if she was used to it, it still stung.

Lily walked back to Veronica and James dreadfully. She put a big smile on, and did her best to be polite to James. "Hey Ronnie, do you want to go get breakfast now?"

A hopeful smile leapt to James's face as Lily walked up. "Hi there, Evans." He said cheerfully. "Have a nice summer?"

"It was quite nice Potter." Lily replied with cold civility, but had a polite smile on her face as she faced James. "Yours was fine as well I hope?"

James put on a mournful expression. "The same as usual- Awful, perfectly awful. What else could it be, with you not there?"

Sunrise laughed as she heard James Potter's comment. She stopped herself quickly, pasting her usual frown back in place. She felt odd, it was nearly the first time she'd smiled since her mother's death three years ago. It was almost as if it hurt to laugh because it had been so long. She chanced a glance over her shoulder back at the trio, envying their companionship even though it seemed like Lily didn't like the Potter boy much.

"Then you had better get used to a life of lonely misery because I'm not going to be with you anywhere but the dreadful classes you insist on sitting by me in." Lily remained calmed as she waited impatiently for Ronnie. "It's nice to hear you laugh Sun, I don't think I've heard that before." She now smiled at her friend.
