Mabozi's gaze darted to Zua, shaking his head with fervor. He stood now, instead of crouching down in fear,

"Fightin' is fo' killin'. I dun wanna kill tha'... Hope tha' dunn't wanna kill me!"

Mabozi had never fought before, nor would he ever... At least not in this frame of mind. In another, he was a cold blooded killed. But for now, he was stuck as loving little Mabozi, couldn't hurt a fly if it dared him to.

"Bone...!"

With some consideration, Mabozi dropped his fears and pounced off into the wasteland of bones, big nose pushed to the ground, hoping to find the best bone of them all.

Zua shrugged, "Don't gotta be for killing, mom and dad fight all the time, but they're still here." She giggled, "No silly, I don't want to kill you."

With that she resumed her search for the bone. Most of the bones in this pile were broken, those were no good. If they weren't broken, they were much too small or much too big, it seemed like a hopeless task. Frustrated, Zua kicked aside a ribcage that probably once belonged to a feline creature, and beneath it she saw it. The perfect size and shape, most likely a leg bone, and it was all in one piece! A single long, thin crack ran along the length of it, but she liked it all the same.

"Found one!" She called to Bozi, snatching it up in her jaws and carrying it proudly over to him. "Beat that."

"S'wha MaMa said...."

He trailed off slightly. Since day one, he had learned to never question his mother. She was the supreme law of the land, and even though he was of her blood, he caught no breaks. Mabozi didn't mind though. A big, goofy grin arose on his face as Zua assured him that her intentions were not of a fatal kind. Good. He liked her!

Mabozi huffed, as Zua pulled out a very good looking bone from the pile in which she had been sifting. With a grunt, he looked away, and trotted around, searching for a bone as well. What he came upon wasn't all that glorious. Seemingly, a rather young elephant had died in these parts long ago, as from the dust, Mabozi plucked a large, but not fully grown elephant tusk. Lifting it up with powerful muscles, he brought it back to Zua, presenting her with this prize.

"Es nice! But I fink tha' won."

Zua shrugged, she honestly hadn't met Mafa yet. Quick little warnings from her parents to always do what she says, but never a face to face meeting.

Zua's jaw dropped when Mabozi came up with a tusk. An actual tusk! It was a good size, not too big like the other ones. That right there was hard to find, she had to admit that Mabozi had her beat, even if they weren't as great to look at, they were rare, and that made them special.

"I guess so, but I'll win next time." She giggled, picking her bone back up.

"I'm gonna take my bone home, mom and dad probably are looking for me. Can we play again sometime?" She asked, wanting to get an answer before she left.

Mabozi frowned, shaking his head. Poking Zua with his big, now dusty nose, he repeated himself,

"THA' WON! Gradulatiums!"

Mabozi wasn't a creature of very competetive nature, he didn't care for winning of losing, in fact, in most all cases, he'd rather someone else win. Sighing, he nodded curtly, smiling sweetly,

"Yah! Tha's Ma and Da soun' nice... Whos dey? And yah! I very much'd like to play wif tha' again soon!"

Zua laughed, it could be hard to tell what Mabozi was saying sometimes. "Nah, I think it was you." She said brightly, "Those are hard to find." She said with a nod.

"Mom and Dad? They're Shira and Yakuti, you know them?" She asked, tilting her head to one side. At the same time, she wondered if her parents knew him. Why hadn't they mentioned him? He was so much fun to play with.

Mabozi tilted his head heavily to one side, the cogs in his brain visible churning hard. He was trying to place the names of Zua's parents. the male sighed deeply. Shira... Yakuti.... A few minutes passed, and Mabozi was still in his trance of deep, elaborate thought... At least deep and eleborate for him. Suddenly, his eyes popped wide and he nodded,

"YAH! Blue! Aaaaan' the mean one!"

Mabozi simply beamed. What an accomplishment, he had been able to place those names with a hyena. Proud day.

Zua stared silently at Mabozi while he thought. This was obviously very strenuous on his mind. She thought he may have forgotten what he was supposed to be thinking of and was about to leave when he spoke.

"Yeah, my dad is blue." She nodded, "And mom is kind of strict. And she yells a lot." She cringed at the thought of what Shira would do to her when she got home after sneaking off without permission.

Zua wasn't at all surprised when Mabozi seemed so proud of his ability to remember, after thinking for so long it was obvious that he didn't do that kind of thing very often.

"So, I'll see you around." She said happily, taking her bone and trotting off toward home. "Hopefully." She added, more to herself then anything.
