DOS: disc of shadows.

Nowadays many people keep their stuff on their computer, or at least have a copy on their computer. Personally I keep stuff in my DOS for a while until I decide I agree with and like it enough to copy it into my BOS. I've had bad experience with that before.

It's a great alternative if you're starting out or if you don't want anyone to find it. You can edit it at will, arrange it how you like, and then when you do get a BOS you can write in what you like and leave the rest in your computer folder.

Just make sure you back it up wink

If you are going to do that I would suggest you also password protect the file to make it a bit safer from prying eyes.

My current BOS is not exactly pretty, in fact, it's a spiral notebook or binder, depending on what i can find. I would like to obtain a hardbound book with a rather thick spine, and blank pages. If I could find one about as big as the BOS in Charmed, that'd be awesome, which I'm assuming I won't find anytime soon. Also, when I get it back, I will have most of it on disc, and password protected and others. Other things some people may like to know, is if you choose to have it saved to your computer, there are several programs lurking around so that you may like to use. To find them, one need only do a search for something like "pagan/wiccan software." The pagan and wiccan key text may be exchanged for one or the other.

I myself have two BOSs and a DOC and a Grimoire which some people confuse witha BOS but a Grimoire is actually where you write down your correspondences and not actually spells and rituals and etc. My first BOS is a few years old, and it is simply a large 7 in three ring binder with alot of papers and spiral notebooks in it. That is what I started with and I've just always kept it. My second BOSs is the more 'charmed' version and it was actually simple to get. Alot of people over look photo albums, the huge ones meant to hold alot of pictures work great for a beautifully styled BOS that holds large pages, like in Charmed pages that have calligraphy and illustrated borders. And then, just got back up or in case a spell, dream or anything comes to me on the fly, I have my DOC where i save my ideas before i actually transfer them to my BOS.

I would Do that but my computer wont read the darned floppy disks. And my PDA can't send text files to the SD cards...But I found a nifty program called Q-Diary,which I ise as a temporary thing untill I decide to put it in my BOS. My BOS is a green spiral notebook, but I doodled on the cover of it,putting a bunch of pagan things on it,and also noting things that are very important to me. If yall want i'll post a picture of it later.

I've seen books that you can buy online but all of them are really expensive. I of course have a few notebooks of my own but I would prefer to have an actual book of shadows, one with the pagan symbol on it. What should I do?
buy/get/use the one that calls strongest to you. You should have a FEELING about your magical tools.
