You all forgot about Creek=Krik
LOL I get teased about that a lot here on the east coast.
Not to mention everything has a different name here...suckers=taffy here.
I never thought I spoke differently until I moved out here.

Yeah. My most embarrassing moment with my accent was having a couple from Texas ask me for directions to the rodeo in town. I had to tell them three times that they were heading in the wrong direction before they understood what I was saying. And I'm from far into Northern Utah, so we get a mix of the Utah and Idaho accents. That's really fun. Especially when we get student teachers or other people from out of town.

I've picked up too many accents to really be able to differentiate anymore. If you think Utah Dialect is painful, try Texan. I've been in more arguments than I want to admit with my Dad on the simplest of pronunciation and such. I have yet to convince him that 'bury' is pronounced similarly to 'berry', he thinks it's closer to 'burry'(as in burrow - which almost makes sense).
Then there's the fact that I can't be in the same room with me extended family for fifteen minutes without talking like them for the next week at least. I'm sticking with "y'all" if for no reason than I can't think of any other comfortable substitute. But it irks me that even my Wife cracks jokes at me for just saying I have a 'Hankering', or for the momentary slips of the drawl. xp
