"Oi, this ain't a shack, this here's a mansion, a beauty!" Ia said, a grin crossing his features. "It's even got a fireplace," he added for good measure, enjoying teasing the man.
He sighed. "Stay here," he said wearily. "The guards go after you because you don't know how to cover your tracks. They don't go after us pro's because they cant find us. Besides if, and it's a very unlikely if, those guards to happen accross here and, again unlikely, I do get into trouble for associating with you, I know people who can bail me out; a good word here, a penny there and presto! I'm aquitted of all charges."
His teasing manner fading for a moment, he looked at the man with almost a kindly eye. For some reason he did seem to like him, though it was rather unexplainable to Ia who didn't really like anyone.
"Tell you what. You got somewhere to go you say, but the guards obviously don't want you to go there. I don't have anywhere to go but would like to go somewhere. You have no idea how to avoid the guards. I do. I suggest you let me go along with you wherever you inted to go and in return, I'll make sure you get there without alerting anyone you don't want to know."

Rick rolled his eyes at the mentioning of the shack. "The appearance is awfully decieving to me then." He mumbled under his breath looking around a bit more, running his fingers over the dusty tables and cleaning them off quickly. This was far from mansion material...he knew very well since the conditions he lived in were far more nicer then this. However he had to take into consideration that the boy was obviously poor to the last coin.
"I wont be staying here, even if you pin me down, tie me up and stuff me into a closet." Rick replied to his previous comment before turning to him after wander around the same spot for a few minutes out of boredom.
Rick took in a deep sigh and stuffed his hands into his pockets remembering his money had been taken from his posession. "let's see...trust you...to keep me safe from the guards...while trying to get to my destination...hmm...it's hard to agree to that one." Rick said as he looked Ia up and down. He had his suspisions about him.
After a moment to think about the offer he let a grin escape his lips and nodded once. "I guess I shall accept your purposal then." He said pulling off his hood, revealing himself to Ia once more as he looked around. It was clear to the prince Ia had no idea who he was at this point. He was hoping it would remain that way until he no longer needed his services.

"I wont be staying here, even if you pin me down, tie me up and stuff me into a closet."
Iastheu put a thoughtful expression on his face, saying in a considering tone, "That actually doesn't sound like a bad idea. It could be fun," before smirking. Of course he wouldn't do that, he probably wasn't strong enough to over power the man without sticking him and that would defeat the purpose.
"Good!" Ia said to the man's agreement, clapping his hands together and rubbing them eagerly. And to warm them. He turned to the fire then and held out his hands to its meager warmth.
"So what's your name? And just what is it you've done to anger the guards?" he asked. Knowing that, being a noble, he probably felt uncomfortable talking about whatever crime he committed, Ia continued to put him at ease, "I'm a known crim so its sorta simple with me. You know, basic theivery and pickpocketting. The odd assult and murder though they were mostly in self defense. 'Course, the guards would never believe me if I told them that."

Rick cocked a brow before walking over by the fire place, standing next to Ia, staring blankly into the flames that hypnotized him.
He snapped out of the trance and looked at Ia saying his name, hoping it would have the same effect as when he showed his face. Even though it was pretty clear he had no idea of his true statues. "Rick is my name. That is all you're getting...as for why the guards are after me...well I didn't commit a crime...unlike yourself...murder, stealing...I need not do any of that knowing it wouldn't benifit me in any way." Rick looked away knowing beating around the bush wouldn't help him for long.
"Why did he send them...He knows I don't want to be what he is..." Rick mumbled as he stared at the dirty floor. The prince returned his glance over back onto Ia and made up a lie...hoping it would cover him until he no longer needed Ia by his side to protect him. "My uncle...he's a terrible man...he want's me to do things I dare not do...So I ran away...I guess he really needs me that bad that he sent guards after me..." His lie was perfect...however it was for Ia to believe in it or not.

"Relax, that's all I want," Iastheu said after hearing Rick's name. "Just something to call you other than 'Oi you noble'. As for the crime commiting, you should know that I never did any of that stuff cause I wanted to. I'd be dead now if I didn't. Don't turn your nose up at things you have to do to survive, you may end up doing them yet. Though likely with your connections you could talk your way out of it; they would probably believe you if you said it was in self defence."
He listened silently to the story he was told as to why the guards were after him. "Huh," was all he said afterwards. He wasn't sure if he believed him or not - he was a good lier but Ia's gut told him otherwise and he always went with his gut - but he didn't question it for now. He brightened then. "It should be easy to get you out of here then, and you can even get a good nights sleep tonight to leave first thing in the morning. We just need to make you look poorer. And a mute. Otherwise your speech would give you away," Ia said, his mind already carrying himself away on this puzzle, working out how he could get a hold of what he would need as any of his spare clothes wouldn't fit this man, him being taller than Iastheu was.
Going to a corner, he picked up a blanket, shook it then tossed it to Rick. "Get some sleep," he said. "I'm going up to the roof to keep a look out, make sure those guards dont come here and keep an eye out for a friend or two who could get me what I need."

Rick caught the blanket in his hands and watched Ia. A grin slipped over his lips as he lowered his head looking for a place to lay down. It didn't look so clean or comfortable for that matter.
As he lay near a table he looked up at the ceiling, dark, empty, spacial. He couldn't believe he had to dress even further down then what he had threw on hoping it would be good enough. Of course, with the guards after him, he couldn't help but do as Ia instructed.

Ia grabbed a lantern and lit it by the small fire before clamouring out the window and up onto the roof, keeping a cloth draped over the lamp. He didn't want to use it yet.
Looking around, allowing his eyes to adjust after the brightness of the fire inside, he took note of what was around him. Noticably that, as of yet, the guards hadn't come back. That was good. He wasn't sure if he could trust Rick not to go running off by himself while Ia was up here, but if he did then Ia wouldn't stop him. It might hurt a little, that the man couldn't trust him not to get him out of here without drawing any suspicion, but that was all. Ia was no jailor.
Spotting movement on a nearby roof Ia smiled and pulled the lamp close to him. He lifted the cloth from it, revealing its light. Let it shine for a moment. Then put it back on, covering the light. Off. On. Off on off on. The timing between the shinings was the message, the message that said Ia wanted her help.
Responding to that, she lifted the covering on her own lantern once before dropping it again and disappearing from sight. Ia only had to wait a moment before one of his 'friends' (though probably more aquaintance than anything since he never really considered anyone a friend) appeared beside him. She was as small, scrawny and dirty as he was but Ia knew that she could beat him at a knife fight anytime, and with Ia's skill with his daggers that was no small feat.
"What's up?" she asked, keeping her voice low so it won't carry down the street.
"I've got a job," he said, not mentioning the fact that said job would not only take him out of the city but that he would unlikely be returning. "I'm going to need some clothes that will disguise someone well-to-do."
"Must be some job," she said but, mercifully, didn't ask any questions. "I'll be back in an hour or so," she said as she faded into the darkness again.
With a sigh, Ia lay back on the patchy roof, hands linked behind his head as he stared up at the stars. He smiled. Maybe he would be able to see his homeland again after so long as, reguardless of whatever Rick said, Ia had every intention of sticking around.

Rick grew tired of the same view and closed his eyes, trying to drift off into a dream or so, however he wanted to be on his guard. He had always been like this...ever since he first left the castle a long time ago, he was always keeping an eye out for the guards.
Soon after a restless nap he rose and roamed the room he was in. The place wasn't much but it looked good enough for a few people to reside in. No doubt it needed a deal of work, but all in all it was a good place to stay.
Ia to Rick, seemed pretty intact with himself and all that around him, however not knowing the ranks above yourself was not a wise thing. Still he trusted the boy no less, but he couldn't help but wonder...if Ia did know he was a prince...would he turn Rick in for the sake of the reward his father most likely would bestow upon him?
The thought crossed his mind a few times but his faith in Ia stayed the same.

Ia could hear Rick shuffling around below him but he didn't worry about it. Though under the floorboards was a rather typical place to stash loot, he doubted someone of such noble blood as he appeared to be would find it when the board sealed so seamlessly that even most theives couldn't find it either.
Breathing in a deep breath of the night air, he winced as it caught in his throat, a stabbing pain in his chest causing him to cough. "Not again," he muttered to himself. The coughing eased and he leant back against the roof once more to await the girl's return. He didn't have to wait long before she did, handing the bundle over.
"You owe me," was all she said.
"Of course," Ia replied as she leapt nimbly down from the roof to the ground below.
Bundle under his arm and lantern hanging loosely from his fingers he easily swung down and through the window. He landed in a crouch and stayed there for a moment, making sure that Rick was the only one in the room, then rose and put the lantern on the rickety table, the bundle of clothes next to it. "Here," he said, looking up with a smile. "These should fit you well so we can leave first thing tomorrow.... maybe we can be on an errand for a healer or something, collecting herbs. I haven't figured that part out yet."

Rick took the cloths and looked at them blankly. He didn't know why he should be wearing these ugly things but in order to leave the city without having much trouble, he figured that it was the best way to just stick with it.
So, he got up from the hard floor and looked around for a room to get changed in. He turned to Ia and then sighed before picking a random bedroom. Inside he found it was less furnished then most. Cobwebs dominated the tables and corners of the wall but he didn't mind the way the room was. Quietly he walked over to the bed and placed his new, yet old, cloths down and began to remove his cape and garments.
It wasn't long before He was in his new outfit. It suit well but the shirt was a bit form fitting and wanted a more loose shirt. But that didn't matter at this point. He was ready to leave and wherever Ia was taking him to find the herbs he had to follow.

((hope you dont mind if I skip to the next morning... if you do pm me and i'll edit for you ^^))
Ia kind of wanted to peek in on Rick, just a curious peek, but he resisted the urge. Instead he took up the cloths and rags he used as a bed and dumped them in a corner, laying down on them with a contented sigh. Finally bed! How he loved such comforts! "I'm going to miss a comfortable bed when we leave tomorrow," he said in a dreamy voice, already half asleep when Rick came out.
..::~Next Day~::..
Ia woke just before the dawn as was usual after a rather good night's sleep and stretched, rising. Getting a cloth bag he checked to see if Rick was still asleep. It looked like it, his eyes were closed, but that didn't mean anything. Still eyes closed was all Ia needed and he quickly used one of his daggers to pry up the floorboard of his stash and he stuffed everything he had into the bag before replacing it and standing. As an afterthought he stuffed Rick's other clothes in there as well.
Knealing down next to Rick, he looked into his face for a moment, trying to figure him out. He had no doubt that there was more to him than the story he had told but he doubted he would be told the rest of the story so soon, at least not until they were well and truely out of the city. Oh well. Placing a hand on his shoulder, his face close to Rick's own, he whispered, "Wake up, time to go."

The prince laid there half asleep, unable to rest in such a place like this, but he tried his best to put in as much sleep before they were off on some road trip, by foot. That morning he was still half asleep however when he hear Ia's voice his eyes opened, droopy, a sign of no good sleep.
He turned his back to Ia and rubbed half of his face, wondering why he had left the castle's warmth and comfort. Then it hit him, the idea of being King, marrying some snob of a princess, and haveing to deal with the council over some dumb warm between the brotherly kingdoms.
Rick sat up and ran his fingers through his hair, turning to Ia for a second then back to where he was sleeping. His back ached and his head spun. Never had he experianced such pain in his life, he was always in the finest of beds, covered with silk robes and sheets. However, he knew he had to endure it for the next few days, with a common thief at his side. "Are we to leave at this time?" he asked in his horrible attempt to speak like others. It failed no doubt.
((That's fine, don't worry about it))

Ia grinned at Rick's attempt at the slums accent. Putting his own on deliberately thick, he said, "No' ba' bu' ya still nee' sum work." He laughed then, and slung the bag over his shoulder. "Yeah, we'll leave now. Gotta get some blankets first else we'll likely freeze out of doors. If ya got any more money on you we can buy them or I can nick them. Whatever suits," Ia said. He had the man's money but had no intention of using it on a paltry thing like blankets. "Some food might be nice too," he said in a thoughtful tone, his stomach giving a hungry grumble. He hadn't eaten for the last two days, at least nothing more than an apple or cream bun, not wanting to risk robbing a place to get more than that.
Leading the way out of the rickety house, he walked casually through the dirty, grimy streets of the slums that was his home, eyes darting left and right, looking for a possible target.

Rick sighed and nodded. "Sorry..." He walked along side Ia and pulled out his little bag, continain gold inside that he had brought along as a back up if he got robbed easily. The little bag he kept inside his shirt just to be safe. "Well..."He began, "I have enough for a loaf of bread and maybe a few apples..." Now he had begun to wish he had brought his whole chest...It didn't matter to him all that much anyways, he knew how to live off of no food. Rick would always skip meals sometimes for the whole day. Never once did he enjoy the cooks meals at the palace.
Continuing to sigh, Rick was thinking about how long it would take to just leave the kingdom. Of course it wouldn't be that easy if the guards were still after him.

((sorry I'm slow replying >.>))
More gold. Man this guy was loaded, Ia thought grinning. "Oh, bread!" he said. "You know I love you don't you!" he added grinning. Coming to the main street he skipped ahead. He wasn't usually this happy and... well obvious, but then normally he was using this time to get some loot. He didn't need to do that now.
Turning around he quickly snatched the bag from Rick and ran ahead, "Come on already!" he shouted turning back and running backwards briefly.
Only to trip over a gutter and fall backwards onto his backside. Laughing at his own clumsiness and standing, rubbing his backside. "Oops," he said, laughing again.
Darting off again he found a backer just opening his shop. Spending Rick's money he bought some fresh hot bread and some apples. Breaking the bread in half, he tossed it, two of the three apples and what was left of the money back to Rick, one after the other quickly, then tucked in.
"Mmph vish ish good!" he said through a mouthful of bread. Swallowing, he continued. "Normally the baker guards his bread to much for me to nick any and, unlike apples, you can tell when a loaf suddenly goes missing."
