Requiem of Antiquity

PostPosted: Mon Apr 23, 2007 7:55 pm

Date of the dream: Last night (April 22-23)

Description of dream:
Alright, first just a tad bit of background: I have a sister who is 17 that drived me to school and sometimes to stores or other places in the area. Every once in awhile we pick up her friend on the way home from school and drop her off at her house.
The dream starts at night, where my sister, her friend, and I are coming out of a 'haunted house'. We are talking and laughing and all agree there was nothing at all scary about the place, just a dark old house on a hill. We all get in the car, with me in the front, the friend in the back, and my sister driving. As we start down the hill, my sis starts giggling hysterically for no reason. "Becca?" I ask, concerned about her. At this point the friend sort of fades out of the dream, though not noticably. We begin to pick up speed as we continue down the hill and my sisters giggles turn to mad laughter. A bridge comes into view; the car doesn't slow "Becca?!" I ask again, a little more scared. She drives through the metal guard railing on the side of the bridge. The car seems to go in slow motion as the river can be seen below us. It looks like the course of the car will carry it over the river and into a thick forest of (I believe pine) trees. "BECCA!!!" I scream out as we fall, and then I wake up, panting and covered in sweat.

Date of dream: continued from last post.
Dream's description:
A chill ran down my spine as I realized what might have happened. Emily was probably kidnapped despite the treaty because even her parents don’t remember her. I pushed angry people out of my way as I struggled to get to the top of the escalators. Finally I reached the top and sprinted as fast as I could through the starry hallway to the side entrance where I left Emily and the Princess. I realized that I was too late when I got there. All I found was a bloody body, one that looked a lot like Kagome from Inuyasha. They’re taunting me! Usually, there’s no trace that the person ever existed, but they left a body in Emily’s stead.
“Um, the Princess Wind is about to start,” I heard a voice say behind me. I turned around to find an employee peering at me through the lobby. I thought it was strange that she didn’t freak about the body, but when I turned to the body again, it wasn’t there anymore. Then, as if the undead had erased my memories, I forgot about Emily for the time being.
My foreknowledge informed me that this hotel was famous for its Princess Wind. It’s an unusually fierce wind that blows through the hotel every summer. Valuables were known to have disappeared after the wind settled down. That was because the undead used the wind as a cover to stealing human’s belongings. The undead could run at speeds that make them invisible to the naked (human) eye.
I ran up the stairs to our room so that nothing will get stolen. As a reached the top of the stairs, I saw a nervous girl (pigtails, sandy hair) standing in front of the door of the room to the left of mine. The girl, I recognized, was staying in the room two doors left of mine. She looked relived when I appeared.
“The Princess Wind is starting, we were told to gather outside first so the employees can brief us on safety measures during this event. An employee came knocking on the doors notifying everyone but this person didn’t answer. I’m a bit worried so I thought to get her just in case.
We knocked on the door but no one answered. I knocked again just in case she might have not heard our first knock. I exchanged glances with the girl besides me and I could tell that she was thinking we should go in. I tried turning the knob and surprisingly, the door swung open.
Inside the room, there were four lamps at each corner of the room, all covered in a red kerchief. We walked cautiously into the room, careful not to disturb anything. We stopped in the middle of the room because it became obvious that we would not be able to find the woman in this room for we would have spotted her in a room this size. Then I heard a piercing scream behind me. I swung around to the horrified little girl. She was staring at her hands. I saw some form of liquid on her left cheek and the same smudged liquid on her hands. Upon closer examination, I found that the liquid was blood.
Slowly we raised our eyes to the ceiling. Another scream escaped the girl’s mouth as she tore out of the room. I, on the other hand, was too scared to move. Strapped to the ceiling light was a naked body with long black hair. The black hair looked like it was supposed to be arranged in a cocoon that had fallen apart, revealing the horrifying sight within it.
(I have shiny black hair that almost reaches to my knees; I think I thought for a moment that the hair the corpse was warped in was my hair)

Hmmm...'tis a strange one this one. My interpretation is that perhaps you have some kind of fear that your sister is either going to get in a car accident or perhaps you fear she's going to cause harm to herself in some way, or perhaps you just fear losing her. The haunted house, being that you all said it wasn't scary could mean that perhaps you're suppressing your fears, but you feel that the others may feel the same as yourself. Really, that's what I'd have to say. I don't know if that's accurate or not, or if it helps, but I hope it does. ^^

Hmm, to be honest its rather peculiar that you have not only as vivid dreams as you do, but that they follow in sequence, as if a story. I mean generally dreams are spontaneous things that you either were thinking a lot of consciously or subconsciously, but this seems like either you're watching an anime, or reading a manga and you're imagination is going off with the story type theme, incorporating the people around you instead of the characters of the stories. If you're not in the above case, then I'd have to say that, well the only analytical part of that dream could be when you fought your way towards the escalators, which would be something like you feel that you have to struggle to get to where you want to go or dream. Or that you feel people are trying to hold you back, ect. Ummm...other than that I have no clue. Lol, except the above, perhaps the whole dream is just a complex story to try to reveal to you your internal/external struggle? Who knows. This ones a stumper. ^^; Sorry.

I can think of one dream that I'd like interpretted. It's been a sort of recurring nightmare since I was about 3 years old. While I am dreaming it, everything is vivid and terrifying. I am always seven years old in the dream, no matter how old I am in real life. I was seven in the dream the first time I dreamed it when I was 3, and I was sevne the last time I have dreamed it, when I was 14 or 15. It has been that way every time I have it. I will wake up and be so afraid that usually I cannot go back to sleep. However, while telling about the dream and reflecting on it in waking hours, it seems completely ridiculous.
~end backgroud/explanations~

Date of dream: Randomly over a span of 12 years. Last time I had it was several months ago.

Description of dream:
It starts out in a car. It's a station wagon sort of car, faded blue in color. My mother is driving, but she is younger than I have ever seen her, yet somehow the same. I am seven years old. We are on an empty highway, driving north towards our house from a town about 50 miles to the south of my home. I see only that flash of the car ride, and then I am standing in my living room.
Outside, there is a thick coating of ice, weighing down the bushes in front of our porch. There is a tree, at the north end of the bushes, and it is perfectly normal. My mother gives me a box of some form of plant de-icer and tells me to go sprinkle it on the bushes so that they will unfreeze from the porch and the ground. I take the box and step outside and begin putting it on the bushes. Suddenly, the harmless tree comes to life. It has a face and stands up on its roots like they were legs. It roars and then shoots fire out of it's mouth at me. I scream and jump back into the house, the flames barely missing me, and I can feel the intense heat coming from them.
The scene changes again. Now, it is springtime. The tree that breathed fire had been terrorizing me all winter. (I know this only from "memories" of the winter.) Now, as I step outside my front door, the tree stands up, glowers at me, and stomps across the driveway, into our north field, walks into it about 20 feet, and stops at the southeast corner of the plowed patch of dirt that was to become our garden. Somehow I know that the tree has decided that it wants to take root. Something compels me to go to the tree, so I do. I reach the tree, and stand there, staring up at it. It looks down at me, and eats me - just swallows me whole from my place on the ground.
I close my dream-self's eyes and cry out. I feel nothing, no swallowing, no falling, nothing. When I open my dream-self's eyes, I am standing at the bottom of the tree, inside of it. There is a whole city in this tree, which is about a thousand times bigger inside than it appears to be outside. The city has homes and shops, built into the sides of the tree. There is a spiralling walkway, which begins directly in front of me, and continues to the very top of the tree. I run towards the walkway, and as I start to run, I hear the sounds of a mob behind me. Looking over my shoulder, I see that there is indeed a mob, but it is shadowy, and the eyes of the shadowy people glow, like fire. They carry torches, knives, swords, whips, chains, and other assorted weapons. They are chasing me as I run.
I run as hard as I can, following the spiral walkway. About halfway up the tree, I am joined by whoever is the most important to me at the time in real life. (The first time I had this dream, I ran alone the entire way.) They run with me, and I scream at them to run faster. Before long, we reach the top of the walkway and frantically begin searching for an exit. But there is no exit. The mob reaches us, and I am grabbed by 2-6 people of the mob. They force me to watch as they slaughter whoever was running with me. Usually, my friend is pinned to the wall by knives, has the torches waved at them, then they are beaten with chains, whips, etc. After being beaten, their torso is sliced open, and they die, with their eyes wide open, staring at me. They had begged me to help them through the entire thing.
When everyone that had been with me is dead, I am punched, and then thrown from the top of the walkway. I am terrified the entire way down, and as I hit the floor, I die, but I keep falling. There is a blackness that tries swallows me up, but I am dead and alive at the same time. When the blackness touches me, I wake up.

What you think the dream means/was brought out from: Well, I have read that a person important to you dying means that some animosity between you will die. Other than that, I have no clue.

As far as the first scene you described I feel that that was just there as a message, really like the whole dream, that, since you felt/saw that your mother was younger it could be perhaps you're watching her grow older over the years, or have slowly noticed it and that it either makes you depressed or nostalgic. As for the main body of the dream...I think that you're having an internal struggle, that you may or may not realize. The tree would be symbolic for the struggle that you have and are afraid of facing, mainly because, like the tree did, you're afraid that whatever this struggle is it'll swallow you, or take control and...ummm...how do I want to say this...'ruin you' or ummm....'hurt you' in some way. If that makes sense. xp as for the mob inside the tree. Well, think about it like this, you're afraid that if you face whatever is hidden away that you'll be bombarded with these issues, the mob being symbolic for many issues. Really, when you run up the spiral stairs thats a major sign of a complex issue that you have and being that once you get to the top you're trapped you're feeling that you're not going to be able to get away from this issue. As for the people around you, I think that you're afraid that this issue will ruin your relationships with people, when you were younger you hadn't really established any people connections yet which may be why you ran up the stairs alone, but as for the overall dream thing going on: I feel its just an internal issue that's been there that you've been ignoring...for apparently a really long time. Which really isn't good. That causes stress on the body and causes health problems, sleeping issues, mood problems ect ect. I hope that helped a bit. ^^; Or made some sense.

Date of the dream:
Last night (May 27-2 cool
Description of dream:
It all started with me and these people I knew building a refugee school, I think it was. It was rather small and basic, just a bunch of sticks strapped together with on metal wall and a metal roof, then shoved up against a mountain. Then there was a lot of wind and rain, like a hurricane was building. Then I fell asleep or got knocked out somehow.
When I woke up, I went around asking people to make sure there was the hurricane warning and I hadn't just dreamed it. Everyone told me it was real. By this time I had walked around a lot of the mountain where we were and came to the other side. (It was a magical size shifting dream mountain, apparently.) I came to an open spot and saw the sky. Almost pure black clouds covered the sky and just a ways ahead of me there was a huge funnel already almost halfway down. The clouds were close to the ground, so it wasn't tall, but its diameter was amazingly large. Across the sky orange flashes kept showing up randomly, like lightning. I ran back, screaming at pepople it was a hurricane and to get in the shelter we were using, which was the school we had build earlier.
Me and my friend ran to the shelter, but it had been moved a little bit, revealing a small cave just behind it. We ducked in, figuring it would be safer than an unsecured tiny building. Everyone in the shelter moved in back, unaware of the cave. Then the storm hit, and the shelter was sucked away, though I get the idea they still lived. Suddenly the clouds tried to reach in and grab my friend, then this horse thing made of the clouds appeared, too. I tried petting it on the muzzle, hoping to keep it calm and gentle while I pulled my friend back. The horse didn't seem really soothed, but it wasn't trying to killl me, so I was happy. We survived through that problem. But then we somehow ended up running around trying to find the way out of the storm. We were in a particularly bad spot with winds blowing all around where we couldn't see at all except for gray clouds everywhere. Then the wind let up a little and the clouds became just a shade lighter, but there was the thing made of lightning bolts that tried to grad us. We managed to break through to a mostly calm spot, but in the sky the gray clouds just seem to go on forever. Then we were sucked back into the worst part of the storm and I woke up.
Meaning:
I'm scared of lighting and we're all gonna die?

Actually, that makes a lot of sense. There are two, maybe three things that have bothered me for as long as I can remember having memories. Thanks a lot. The dream now makes a lot of sense as to what it symbolizes and what my mind wants me to know/do. =)
