That's actually quite agreeable. xD
But I think the idea of unions were for a good cause originally... that the majority of workers back in... ... uhm, earlier 1900's? Or sooner? I don't remember. I'm much a history person. But businesses were getting huuuuuge amount of money while the workers got paid... barely anything. It wasn't so easy to get a "college education" back then, from my bare minimum understanding of then...
A lot of movies/books probably portrayed it worse than it was, but who knows.
Unions basically wanted a minimum wage that wasn't making them work 60 hrs for almost nothing.
How true it is. I don't know. Never interested me to look into it.
But you're right for the most part... right now, these days it's unskilled labor that's being unionized. I stillllll wanna know where that money goes... It can't all be anti-walmart.

Well, I think is was somewhere between The civil war and world war one that the real s**t was going down, maybe even into the depression but I think most of the s**t went out before WWI. Back in those days, I could see the need for unions and laws to protect workers rights. Hell, half the business practices in those days were a danger to public health. The s**t that went on back then makes Wal-Mart look like a saint.
Well, I'd imagine a lot of it goes to no good use. There's lawyers involved somewhere for the contract negotiations.
Something that also annoys me is how people tend to ignore the fact that a part time job checking at Wal-Mart really isn't something you should be depending on for your living. It seems to me that the time and effort people put in to bitching about the fact that you can't live on a job any high school student could do could be better spent towards addressing the real issue of why these people are working at Wal-Mart and don't have the job skills to get a better paying job. That would help these people a lot more than getting them paid a quarter more an hour for the few hours that they actually get part time.
Another thing that bugs me. Target, K-Mart, etc... They're all just as bad as Wal-Mart when it comes to employees, yet they hardly get complained about.
