Another thing I love is how I pretty much have a character for everything. Observe:
-Lock, Shock, and Barrel: Troublemakers
-Jack: Curiosity, outgoing, overall good guy
-Sally: Sweetness and shyness
-Mayor: Worrywart
-Oogie: My overall villian
-Doppler: Brainy (though I do need to do more research on astrophysics. I mainly just play him by his nature rather than his profession)
-Amelia: Strong leader, confident, her way or else
-Jim: Delinquent, can behave when he wants to
-Silver and Morph: "Gray" villain (not purely evil, but not purely good, either), and tends to show his better side often; Morph is hyper and playful like a puppy
-Bonejangles: "Cool cat" and a slight womanizer ("I love a woman with meat on her bones!"). Just an overall "fun guy"
-Quasimodo: Sensitive and kind, a bit insecure
-Jonathan: Sociopath (clarified by some comics I have)
-Snape: My inner jerk
Out of my originals, I have:
-A sadist (actually, I technically have three, but only one has that as the key quality. The other two, sadism is more on-and-off depending on the situation)
-A lover
-A mother's boy
-A joker
-One who hardly speaks (which is interesting to play with)
-Older version of the above mentioned, this one is serene and serious who does not put up with nonsense
-A husband and wife set
-A wise old man
So in there, I have characters who are fearful, some who are cut above the rest, some of are actively happy, some who are allowed to be depressed, some who are insane, some who are dependent, some who are parents/couples/lovers, and of course, I have a bunch that like to cause trouble. ^^
N likes variety.

She brings such conflict, and I love it!
Innocent little girl, trapped in a nightmarish situation, an evil spirit causing her to hurt those she loves and maybe destroy the planet.

Well, since I replied really nastily the first time, I'm going to reply nicely and with a bit of a diatribe THIS time.
Connor McManus - I like getting into character with him. I usually only bring him out when there's something about being Irish, or being from Boston to discuss, or when Sterling, my partner in crime, feels like bopping around as Murphy.
Rocco - He's a riot to tell stories with, and people often PM him asking for a funny joke, or just say "hell yeah!" and leave it at that.
Agent Sheldon Jeffery Sands - He's fun to be snarky with. And nobody's picked him out as a gimmick yet. Kinda sad, really.
Gambit - MY GOD THIS GUY HAS FANS. Seriously, I can keep him inactive for months, and he'll STILL get friend requests, PMs, profile comments, and people humping his leg. I adore typing in accent, and all his fans adore when he showers them with attention.
Wolverine - I rarely post on him, because c'mon. It's Logan. What's he going to say to a bunch of kids?
Nathan Explosion - I have to admit, he's one of my all-time favorites to be on. I love getting the question, "Are you really from Dethklok?" from fans of Guitar Hero 2 who haven't seen the show. I also love getting the question, "How did you get that skin?" because I can feel superior. Being a part of a group of gimmicks is a lot of fun, and organizing things for the band to do makes me feel accomplished. Oh yeah, and I can be a real d**k on him, too, without being out of character.
SnB Pickles - Unfortunately, Pickles is ALWAYS overlooked as a cosplay. There's a lot of closet Snakes 'n' Barrels fans out there, though. At least, more than I realized when I made him. He's a riot to parade around, pretending to know absolutely squat about anything past 1991.
Natalie Explosion - Being Nathan in female form makes me laugh. It's pure cracky fun.
Dean Winchester - Hey! Another mule I can be an a*****e on without seeming like I'm a complete troll! He's good to bring into threads about the supernatural. And threads about the show, Supernatural.
Ageless Bill Turner - No Pirates fan has hated him yet! Not to mention, I don't know what it is, but being a scruffy, bulky version of Orlando Bloom with fangs and a 'ship with a Vampiric Jack Sparrow gets ALL the chicks.
Jay - Writing threads by him is a trip. Sometimes I wonder if I'm channeling some crazy stoner from New Jersey, because half the things I spout as him are completely off in left field. He's a great gimmick.
Death - Despite my love for the Endless, I rarely use her. She's just too snappy for me. I basically only made her to go along with Sterling's Delirium. You can't have one Endless in a thread without another popping up.
Orlando Bloom - Fangirls squee, the end.
Shayla Shayla - I haven't used her yet, but she's a cutie-pie.
Pete Steele - To talk in the music forum as him makes fangirls squee, and makes people want to hump MY voice. O_o

I love all of my cosplays to death. They're like children really, especially how they absorb all of your gold and such. I make them impulsively and I'm sure most of you suffer from it too.
I've had this account for a few months and I like pulling him out now and again and lecturing kids.
Toki Wartooth is for days I'm in an overly happy and childish mood. Innocent oblivion, no one can resist his cuteness.
Stephen Colbert is for days when I like talking down to people in a joking manner or getting the GD riled up for no reason. He's probably my most popular cosplay, though I don't use him as much now.
Legolas is good for serious discussions. I have had some scary run-ins with fangirls due to the whole Orlando Bloom thing. Sage knows how that is.
Dr. Rockso is for obnoxious trolling about cocaine. I enjoy it more than I probably should.
Balrog is for flaming. Literally.
I also have a Pickles I like pulling out for shenanigans every now and again.
I did have a Doc Holliday mule that I have to remake because he was really fun to unleash in forums.

I'll admit that I hardly ever use my cosplays in forums, but that isn't because I don't love them. I'm a lurker by nature so I don't do much posting in the forums, even with my main. I do, however, use them to pop into random rooms when I'm playing slots or jigsaws, though, or when I feel like running around in towns. People get a kick out of them. whee I've become something of a recluse on Gaia over the years, and I find myself intimidated by how huge the number of users has become, and how crowded the forums are these days. <_<;; But anyway, I do love my cosplays, and I have been trying to psych myself up to using them in the forums.
Let's see...I'll try to do this in the order in which I created them.
Piccolo-san - I'm nervous about using him, because the reactions he gets can be pretty extreme. People are either like "OMG PICCOLO HOW'D YOU GET THAT NAME I LOVE YOU BE MY FRIEND JOIN MY RP I'M GONNA' STALK YOUUU! xd " or they're like "Ew, Dragon Ball Z. You're stupid. I hate you. Go be gay with Gohan. :XP:" But on the other hand, he's kind of fun because I can be all gruff-yet-paternal with the wee little newbies. whee
S. Snape - I love to use this one because I never have to worry about things like dumbing down my vocabulary to stay in character (Though I do have to suppress the occasional southern Indiana colloquialism. sweatdrop ). Also, I get an excuse to be as snarky as I want. whee I like to use him on those rare occasions when someone really pisses me off and I have to give them a thorough intellectual trouncing. He is the only one of my cosplays created with a specific purpose in mind, which was to start a Slytherin guild with my roommate.
0ptimus Prime - This one gets the "OMG HOW DID YOU GET THAT NAME!?" reaction a lot, because people don't realize that the "O" is a zero. rofl He's fun to use when I'm in a kind and benevolent mood. I've used him in my charity before because he's such a gentle and paternal sort of character. I have also used him in the past to defend others from the evils of flamers and trolls.
VV0lverine - I made this one because I just couldn't resist when they came out with the Logan hair style. sweatdrop I haven't really used him yet, but I'd like to. His bad-a** attitude is all kinds of fun. xd
Morpheus the Endless - I had been wanting to make this one since the demonic pendant was released, because it put me in mind of his dream gem, but I didn't get around to making him until much later. Though I couldn't resist making him, I don't really know what to do with him now that I have him. sweatdrop He's so aloof and moody that I have a hard time thinking of things for him to say. And aside from that, I have yet to find a practical way to make the background of his speech bubbles black with white text.
Bumbleb33 - I made this one for my roommate as a companion cosplay for Prime. He's the most cheerful and energetic of the cosplays I've made. I don't use him yet, because I keep waiting for my roomate to use him. stressed But if I do, I probably won't use him unless I'm using Prime and Ir0nhide as well.
Ir0nhide - Another companion cosplay for Prime. He's Prime's bodyguard, so I figured he should be around. He's kinda' fun because he can have the tendency to want to solve problems by blowing them up, much to Prime's dismay. whee
GHG Dominique - Trigun is my all-time favorite anime, so I had to make at least one Trigun cosplay. I didn't want to do Vash or Wolfwood because they'd both already been done to death, and I already knew some people who cosplayed them. I would have done Midvalley, but I just couldn't bring myself to do it without a saxophone. Anyway, I'm not sure how to use her yet, because there isn't much known about her character. I'll have to re-read the manga and stuff and make some inferences to develop her character. 3nodding

Okay. This is going to take a while. XD
1. JRR Tolkien: Ah, my very first cosplay mule. <3 I'm a huge LOTR nerd, and one of the original regs of the LOTR forum, so I made this guy partially as an inside joke and partially to keep the
subforum in line, since there was a long period of time when there were no mods assigned to the LOTR subforum and we had to take care of the place ourselves. Once, on my Tolkien mule, I asked an asshat to, "Please stop raping my stories. sad "
2. Morgoth: Yet another LOTR mule. He's the ultimate baddie from The Silmarillion. Basically Sauron's boss. I made him for RPing in the forum.
3. Fred Weasley: My most famous mule. The Fred and George Appreciation thread that this mule and the George that belongs to my best friend and roommate(Transvesticade on Gaia, or just "Cade" IRL) made is currently 1357 pages long. I actually get hysterical PMs from fans if I haven't posted in a while. Fred has almost as many friends as my main account does, and I've been a member for over three years and don't turn down requests. He's really fun to post with, but the upkeep can be a b***h. Most of my other HP mules were made to post in the thread with to keep it interesting. That said, posting as one of the Weasley twins is ridiculously fun. Me and Cade get called the Weasley twins anyway IRL by people that know nothing of Gaia. My nickname IRL is actually Fred, and Cade's is George.
4. Percy Weasley: Percy is fun to be snooty with. ^^
5. Charlie Weasley: Charlie posts mainly in Fred's thread. He also has fun in any threads involving dragons. Cade owns Bill. ^_^
6. Pansy Parkinson: Pansy was actually my first HP mule. I love Slytherin, and Pansy never gets any love, so I made one.
7. Bellatrix Lestrange: Bella is my favorite HP character, and is INSANELY fun to post with. She solves most of her problems with a 'Crucio!' and a sadistic grin. She once Crucioed my Fred, and the fans freaked out for a good four pages or so. Cade has Rudolphus.
8. Dead!Dumbledore: Now this was FUN. I hate Dumbledore, hence his username Manipulative Old Coot. He used to have the X_X casino glasses on, but I gave him the twinkly oculus magica eyes to mimic his constant twinkle. Creeeepy.
9. Tom Riddle: I haven't actually done that much with this mule, since most RPs are during either Harry's time or the Marauder's time.
10. The Sorting Hat: Words cannot express how much fun it is to go into a thread that has nothing to do with HP and shout out RAVENCLAW! at someone, then leave.
11. Professor Trelawney: She was fun for a while, but there are only so many times that you can moan about the Grim and people about to experience great doom before it gets boring.
12. Aberforth's Goat: Cade has Aberforth. Aberforth was charged with practicing inappropriate charms on a goat. 'Nuff said. XD
13. Tingle: Tingle has spread fear across many a forum. Possibly my most disturbing mule.
14. Saria: I don't really post with Saria. I mainly made her because I was really happy with how the TekTek came out and wanted to try entering her in the arena.
15. Mr. Keating: I made this mule after the character from Dead Poets Society, and to run a now-dead DPS guild. DPS is my favorite movie. <3
16-23. Buffy, Vamp Willow, Giles, Faith, Cordy, Willow, Angel, Xander: I'm a huge Buffy nerd. Thus, these mules were necessary.
24-25. Spike and Drusilla: I love Spike and Dru. They're two of my favorite characters. These were my first non-LOTR mules. Drusilla is so much fun to post with! I have, however, gotten many PMs from fangirls asking Spike if he's the "real" Spike. Kinda scary.
26-28. Andrew, Jonathan, Warren: I love the trio. Also much fun to post with, and pepper their posts with tons of geeky references. <3
29. Clem: Cutest. Demon. EVER.
30. Lorne: Possibly one of the most fun of my mules to post with. I love being to call anyone "sweet cheeks" and get away with it. XD
31-33. Alucard, Seras, Schrodinger: I'm a Hellsing fangirl. 'Nuff said.
34-35. Jesus and Raptor Jesus: These two came about when a friend commented that I had mules of everyone but Jesus. Naturally, Raptor Jesus was soon to follow.
36. Elle Driver: I'm really proud of how this one turned out. I'm a huge Tarantino fan.
37. Dr. House: Ah, House. Who wouldn't have fun given the excuse to post as the snarky b*****d himself? That said, Gaia really needs stubble.
38. Balthier: Quite possibly the only character that I didn't hate from FFXII. Pirates are always cool. I really like how the outfit came out.
39. Johnny the Homicidal Maniac: Ah, Nny. So much fun to post with. I think I've scared a few people that didn't know that this was a gimmick, though.
40-43. Zoe, River, Simon, Book: I made these, and Cade made Mal, Wash, Jayne, and Kaylee. We didn't make Anara because we don't like her. The b***h. *glare*
44. Pyramid Head Ah, Pyramid Head. So much fun in the Word Games forum. XD "who would you rather be stuck in an elevator with?" "NOT PYRAMID HEAD." xd
45. Hedwig: I had to make this when that hairstyle came out. I love Hedwig and the Angry Inch. <3
46. Shane: What started as a funny TekTek became an actual mule when I realized that I had an extra celebrity date lying around. It's not Shane without a hot chick on her arm.
47. Rocky: I had to make him when the gold swim bottom came out. I didn't have a choice.
48. Ragetti: Ragetti is the most adorable character in PoTC. Cade has Pintel. He's fun to post with, but only when Pintel is around. Otherwise he gets all mopey.
49. Tia Dalma/Calypso: I LOVE posting in Tia Dalma's accent. Dat accent 'as to be da most fun ta post wit. It's like I can 'ear da voice in me 'ead when I post wit' 'er.
50. Reno: Reno is my favorite character in all of Final Fantasy. The Turks, and Shinra in general, kick so much a**. When I saw how the facial tattoos look like Reno's facial markings with the right hair, I finally had to make him. <3
51. Rude: After making Reno, I had to make Rude. Especially since I know a bald glitch. Besides, Reno was lonely without his partner. <3
52. Richard: Because NO ONE kicks more a** than Richard. This mule was made in a fit of fangirlishness after seeing the "Slaughter Your World" vid on youtube. He's fun to go on murderous rampages with.

*joins the bandwagon* I listed the varieties. Now for purposes.
Lock, Shock, and Barrel: These three speak for themselves. I have moments where I want to cause trouble and get away with it. I also have moments where I feel like acting a little immature, and I can do it, and people pass it off as cute or childish. I do get close to trolling with them (especially Shock), but I know my limits.
Jack: I like him, and the threesome needed someone to keep them in check.
Sally: Actually my first cosplay gimmick. I like to play with her when I feel like being sweet, or that a calm character is needed in the current thread.
The Mayor: For basic Halloween Town needs that cannot be satisfied by Jack---and a victim for Lock, Shock, and Barrel.
Oogie Boogie: I actually originally was going to leave him alone, but my tagteam friend was only Oogie half of the time when I needed her, so I made an account for myself.
Silver, Jim, Amelia, Doppler: I made Treasure Planet TekTeks. I wanted to make them. Enough said.
Bonejangles: He came about back when Victor and Emily cosplays were "the thing." I wanted to do a character that no one else had thought of. A friend of mine has an Emily for him. We might make Victor and Victoria.
Quasimodo: He was made for the purpose of swiping a good username, and also because TekTek was nice to me.
Jonathan: I was reading the Year One series. No one else had tackled the Year One version of Scarecrow. Opportunity knocked, I took it.
Snape: He was my first non-Nightmare Before Christmas account. I have no idea what inspired him, just that I wanted to make another gimmick. I now use him to rant, vent, curse people who tick me off, and, recently, go googly for a Lily cosplayer, who is a friend of mine. He gets rabid fans too.
Originals: I made them out of boredom, originally. Some have found their way to the forums. *ninja*

The Spider-Man: I'm a HUUUUUGE Spider-Fan, and when they came out with this mask, I had to do it. It was just a bonus when I found out there was an entire group of Spider-Mules. I love this account more than I love jeans when they just come out of the dryer and they're all warm, and soft, and comfy, and...Nevermind. Off-topic.
LOL VEGETA: This I made partly to go with Piccolo, and partly because I didn't want to hide that I was a DBZ fan anymore. He's fun.
Great Hunter Kraven: Oh, how could I resist this? No one ever made a Kravn before, and everone ******** knows it. I also love Kraven, and it's fun to have every conversation lead back to "THE HUNT".
Iron Man Stark: Iron Man. Srs bsns. I love Iron Man, and when I figured out how to get a decent helmet for him, I had to make him.
Lol Son Goku: Screw EVERYONE. Goku can work well if you do it right. I just wish we had a better hairstyle. I like this one because I can be niave and friendly while shooting lasers out of my hands.
The Lizard Connors: I thank Asmodai/Scarlet Spider/An infinite number of this guy's accounts for making a tektek of this. And for givin' me crap to ghost. I love the Lizard, and it's fun to threaten to eat people.

Toki no Yuushi (hero of Time): Link, my all time favorite video game character and cosplay (even though it's very common in Gaia).
GAN0ND0RF: He's my favorite Legend of Zelda villain. I like being evil and heartless on this account. twisted
M1KAU: The dead guitarist from Majora's Mask. His appearance was brief in the game, but he's always been my favorite Zora from the Legend of Zelda series.
Rikku from FFX-2: My favorite female character from the the Final Fantasy series. I don't really use this account much since I'm a dude though. =P
Balthier Mid Bunanza: My favorite character from the Final Fantasy seres. He's a dashing sky pirate with a quick tongue, simple charm that can easily sway people, and he wields a nice gun (what's not to love about that).
Pollination Technician: An alien from The Sims 2. I thought he was good cosplay to make into an account since no-one took the name, other than that he just holds my Sims 2 Guild.
w0nKa: After watching the new version of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, I thought he would be an interesting cosplay to RP with.
PETER GR!FF!N: Peter is one of my favorite cartoon characters. I just like acting stupid and silly with this account. =]
[ James Bond 007 ]: I'm a huge James bond fan, which is why I chose to make him.
Brother the Al Bhed: My newest account, another character from the Final Fantasy series. I thought he was a good weird character that I can sometime confuse people with the Al Bhed language. =]
