Noel smashed the lock on the door off with the butt of his M16 and walked in. He spoke slowly into a mic linked to his ipod, which was doubling as a voice recorder. "Day One of house sweeps, nothing so far, I've swept two small houses, Collin swept three detached and Bobby is leading the rest of the crew through a apartment building..Starting on my third house now." Noel looked around, keeping his M16 in a stable stance, he swept the beam of the flashlight attached to his rifle over the living room and cushion, blood, but no infected yet. He swept the basement over a few times, he founds some canned food and ammo, but nothing else. He flicked the shotgun barrel at the end of his M16 on as he walked up the stairs, he tested the wood with one foot. Satisfied with the strength in the wood, he walked up the stairs...

When Maryse reached up and realized that she was crying, she sank to her knees and cried all the harder. She cried harder than she had ever cried in her entire life. Maryse had always been a very moody girl, especially after her mother had died, but she'd never been very emotional. She'd become even less emotional ever since the zombie apocalypse had started, because in the zombie apocalypse, your emotions could get you killed. She had been keeping her emotions carefully contained. She'd only released them because she thought she could use them to her advantage. Unfortunately, now that she'd released them, she couldn't contain them again. All the fear, all the hatred, all the anger, all the sorrow came gushing out in a torrent of tears.

The hopelessness of the situation had gripped her like never before, and she wasn't sure that she had the courage, or even the desire, to get back up again.

Richie was running through the forest. He had been running for maybe ten minutes when he heard rustling in the bushes. He stopped in his tracks, looking around. There were twigs snapping all around him, and he knew he was surrounded. He took the safety off his weapon, listening. He heard a low growl, followed by another and another. Soon, the growls were all around him. He noticed pairs of eyes also.

"**** me," Richie said, knowing they were wolves.
One of them came running out of the darkness to his left. He turned, firing a three round burt into the wolf. It yelped, sliding to a halt on the ground as the bullets hit it's torso. There was the sound of another wolf charging him, but before he could turn around, he was knocked to the ground on his back, but didn't lose his grip on his gun. He screamed as he put his gun sideways in the wolf's mouth to hold it's snarling maw back. He held the gun with one hand, punching the wolf with his free hand. He punched the wolf three times in the side as hard as he could, causing it to yelp and get off of him. Richie adjusted his gun, shooting at the wolves wildly as he tried to stand up. Another wolf knocked him to the ground, his gun flying from his hand. He screamed, trying to hold the wolf's head back. He felt teeth dig into his right ankle as another wolf bit down into it, shattering the bone. Richie screamed louder than before, tears of pain coming to his eyes. A realization came through his mid: he wasn't going to get out of there unless someone saved him right then and there.

Kyle heard someone enter the house. It was morning, so he was sleeping when he heard the crash of the lock being broken and the front door being kicked in. He heard a voice as he grabbed his Shotgun, followed by rustling down in the cabinets.
Looters, he thought to himself. He didn't know if they were friendly or not. He hadn't seen another human in a very long time. He heard boots on the wood stairs, coming up them. He went to a room that was next to the staircase, one of the walls of the room sharing it with the staircase. once he heard the boots near the top of the stairs, he shot the wall, blowing a large chunk of it away.
"If you're still alive, you had better leave now! I don't want to have to look at you when I shoot you this time!" he shouted to who ever was on the staircase as he pumped the shotgun.

Suddenly, Maryse heard gunfire somewhere nearby. She scrambled to her feet and ran toward it, reaching into the holster at her side and drawing her Beretta. She didn't think about it, she just did it. She didn't think about whether or not there was a point in getting up, in running, in fighting, in surviving. She just acted.

The old Maryse was back again.

Moments later, Maryse emerged from the underbrush to see Richie struggling against a pack of wolves, possibly the same pack of wolves she'd just frightened off. As she'd figured, they were too hungry to go a night without a meal. The alpha male, a big animal with a shaggy face, was on top of Richie, trying to tear out his throat. Another, slightly smaller animal was biting into his ankle with bone-crushing force. Richie screamed in agony.

Maryse assumed the stance, her feet shoulder-width apart, her left foot slightly in front of her right, her entire body balanced, her elbows almost completely straight, her Beretta held firmly in her right hand, her flashlight firmly in her left. She aimed, then pulled the trigger, killing the alpha male with a bullet to the brain. She adjusted her aim and pulled the trigger again, killing the smaller animal attacking Richie's ankle. She could see the wolves scattering, could see their long sleek bodies darting to and fro, and she fired as many rounds as she was sure would hit their mark, injuring a few of them. She was confident that they wouldn't attack again, especially now that their pack leader was dead, but she didn't know. They were hungry and desperate enough to attack an armed human being.

They were capable of anything.

Holstering her Beretta, she rushed to Richie's side and propped him up against her knee. "Are you alright?" she asked, "What the hell are you doing here?" She was hyperventilating and her face was flushed where her sweat and tears had washed away the mud she'd applied for camouflage.

Noel smiled in spite of himself, he raised his hands slung the M16 over his shoulder, "Don't worry kid, I'm not here to rob you, kill you or infect you, I'm just here sweeping the neighbourhood with my Gang to make sure theres no zombies within a certain radius so we can give the Government the green light to start moving people in here as a safe zone. He reached one hand back behind him, hitching up his pants, "And kid, one tip..." He moved his hand behind his back as if he was pulling a gun out, using that as misdirection as he whipped his Desert Eagle out of the front of his pants and pointed it at Kyle, "If you point a gun at someone who is armed, two things, remember that if you threaten someone with a gun, you better be ready to blow their brains out and two, most survivors always carry a sidearm.

several months after meeting Ryu, Allen Price came in his room to check on him. he was out of bed and doing pushups. "I'd say your ankle's healed" he said grinning. "yep" Ryu replied. Kallik barked craving to go outside. He hadn't for ever. "Allright allright we can go outside" Kallik barked happily and bounced around in circles. Ryu smiled. "grab your AA12 kid" Allen told him as he jogged out for his own rifle. As the three left the store Ryu and kallik took a deep breath of air at the same time. Allen chuckled. not even a block afterward they heard a girl scream they looked at each other than hauled a** too the comotion

Kyle aimed the shotgun at the man's head. He didn't know if the man was lying about him not going to rob him or not. He knew he needed to be prepared to kill someone if he needed to, he just hated the thought of killing another human without being attacked first, os he fired the warning shot to try ad scare him off. He was relieved, however, to hear that the man was with the government.

"It's about time someone came to clear this place out," Kyle said, lowering his shotgun, "I was beggining to think we were on our own out here."

Kyle observed the man, noticing that he hadn't put his pistol down.

"Hey, I'm truly sorry about shooting at you. I didn't know if you were here to rob or loot or kill me. I wanted to fire off a warning shot, hopefully to scare you away if you were here to hurt me. I can't stand the thought of killing another human unless I absolutley have to. Thre are so few of us left nowadays."

"Are you alright?" she asked, "What the hell are you doing here?"

"I came...out here because...I heard you scream...I wanted to make sure...you were okay," Richie said, wincing every few words, "C'mon. We have to get going, GTA is four miles from here."

Richie pushed himself into a sitting position, then went to stand up. he stood up, balancing on his good leg, his hand on Maryse shoulder to help him balance as he got up. He put his bad foot down, applying normal pressure to it.

"GAH!" Richie screamed as he fell to the ground.

Noel nodded as he slung the desert eagle back into its usual spot in the back of his pants, he lit a cigar and leaned up against the banister, he looked over at Kyle, then pulled the cigar out of his mouth, "We have some fresh food at the Garage if you want some, come by later." He put the cigar back in his mouth and went to check on the next house.

(diseased not zombies...but wolfs will do. lol)

keith carrys a few bodies with the help of some one else to the infirmary. Cameron gives him a few things to do and keith finishes up everything with in an hour or so. After that keith takes his "relax" break and walks into one of the houses where only three other guards are stationed. keith walks in and plops down on a very comfy chair. he rests and puts his weapons(except the pistol) in his pack and rests with the pistol in his hand on his lap. He tries to fight sleeping but haven't slept in days. He remembers Cameron telling him to stay alert but he falls asleep. He awakens a while later looking at the old grandfather clock across the room. Four hours have passed. Keith walks out the front door stretching and goes to where the two "guests" are being held. He walks calmly through the front door of the house where they are kept.

Several hours after the wolf attack, Cameron was on watch duty and saw Keith headed over to the isolation house where the two strangers were being held. Cameron decided it was time to let them out.

"Hey, Keith!" Cameron shouted as Keith stopped at the entrance of the house, "Why don't you let them out. They've been in there for a while. Don't take any weapons in there though. Pat them down before you release them, just in case they got creative with a weapon, and then let them out."

"Hey, can I come with?" Kyle said as he followed Noel down the stairs, "I haven't left that room in a couple days, and I could sure use a stretch of my legs, and you could probably use someone to watch your back. I also just want to help any way I can. I wasn't able to join the Army in the states because of a back problem, but I'm sure right now you could use all the help you can get. Then we can get some chow, what do you say?"

Noel nodded lightly as he turned the ingnition key for his Indian Chief, "Sure kid, its just down the street behind me, theres a improvised wall at the edge of it, but I have to keep sweeping the houses right now." He kicked away the kickstand and turned the throttle, slowly gaining momentum to head towards the next street.

Kyle watched Noel drive off, wishing he could go. He turned around, seeing the wall, and walked towards it. After about ten steps, he remembered something. Something that could save Noel's life. He turned around, runnin in the direction Noel had driven, hoping to get to him before it was too late. Kyle new the next street over was heavily infested with Heavies, what he called the giant body builder zombies. They stuck to that area for some reason. Not because of food, but they jsut milled around that street. Kyle new if Noel went in there the way he was, he would be killed quickly.
