Striding back into the area, Raven would proceed back into the tunnels above the arena, his hand resting upon his blade as he returned t the search for the vile rodents which infested this place. Soon enough they'd be no more then blood stains left upon steel.

Raven scowled slightly as his boots clanked with each step. Nothing had met his gaze so far...though at least this time his first steps up here didn't result in electrocution.

A sound of wires that had been cut through would fizzle and crackle as something would appear in flash of color lights. Something would appear at the end of the ventway in a swirl of color lights as it would seem that the mirage arena was having a malfunction.
A flick of light, and the entire area would seem to become bigger ...wider as the place was transformed from a small ventilation shaft to an area in the midst of a dark forest. The light of a ending day would filter through the trees as the leaves were orange and red and speckled the ground with those colors as the light went through the leaves.
It was a beautiful thing to see ....but it was a testament to how much trouble the Rattata had caused as something would flicker through the trees. Darkness in this world of varies lights and hues as the Hunchkrow would land in front of the group and gave them a look that was nothing more than a silent promise of a challenge.
This would be a very interesting battle.

Stone faced, Raven wouldn't even bother clucking his tongue this time. Cracking his neck sharply to the right and then the left, the boy would unsheathe his blade, twirling it once experimentally to test the distance around him.
Satisfied he'd reach for the third ball upon his belt. He'd have liked to have used Requiem for this, but he had to remain aware of the fox's limits. This would have to be an aerial battle.
Adjusting the grip his left hand had on the hilt of his weapon, the boy would toss his Skarmory's ball forward in short handed lob. The next moment he would swing his sword from beneath, striking the PokeBall with the flat end of the blade near the tip "Crowe, take to the air and make this quick!" Raven commanded sharply, not even waiting for the ball to fully open.
A flash of light and the familiar form of a Skarmory would appear, his steely feathers reflecting the waning light of the sun as his wings spread wide. At last they seemed to be out of that cramped vent! Now he could fight to his fullest, and show why his kind were king of the skies!
A joyous caw would erupt from the Skarmory, but the sound would fall short as a chill ran down his spine...a sudden shiver running through him at the sight of his opponent. Honchkrow. Both it and it's previous form were well known as an ominous sign....harbingers of death. If Crowe had been able to sweat at that moment, he would have. Images of the dark feather bird only called back memories of that utter scorching blackness...
Pokemon: Skarmory [M] Name & Level: Crowe, Lv 2 [Temperament] Quiet Bio: Crowe was first encountered upon the second ring of Beginner Island amidst a crater. With wings that shimmered like steel, the bird no less landed upon the ground and challenged Raven to a duel directly. Battle fiercely against Genn, the conflict seemed to take an eternity as the two near immovable objects clashed. With a swift hand, Raven was able to throw a single PokeBall and capture the bird...with a slight chase soon to follow. Struck by the ball in the air, the capsule soon flew over the side of the crater, forcing Raven to pursue it by sliding down the side upon Genn's back. During the process of which the boy encountered a Sneasel...and soon both he and it were hanging off the crater by a branch. After a struggle and much dramatics, Raven was able to retrieve the ball, and save the little Dark-Type he had accidentally placed in a perilous situation. Since then Crowe has shown a strong sense of honour, reacting to nearly every battle as if it were a duel with that very thing on the line.
Shortly after the elimination of the Strike Student Trix's Meinfoo, Crowe too met oblivion at the hands of the girl's Magmar. His body burned down to cinders, an egg would form from the ashes due to the ability of Team Legacy's Guard Student. Reborn from the egg soon after, Raven gave him the same name he'd held in his previous life. Yet the experience of his death has changed the Skarmory. The memory haunts him, sending chills down his spine...the Skarmory has rarely spoken since the initial squawks at his rebirth. The Honchkrow gave a caw as she saw her opponent was aloof. There was a satisfying clicking of her beak, she had thought she would face a creature of the ground, but ....it would seem she was wrong and quite delighted. Creatures of the sky were her favorite to fight ....as she would open her wings and power then downwards once as she would leave the ground behind, this was to be an aerial battle.
The one whom could get higher into the air would be the winner. The one whom could strike the hardest would win, and considering that she was fighting the scourge of the skies .....she couldn't allow herself to get lost in the thought of this. No, she would simply tear that Skarmory apart, and the thrill of battling an aerial opponent turned what should have been a gentle pokemon into a monster.
This was her secret, she was a lover of battles in the air. Rarer than any other .....as her wings were spread to their fullest extent as she allowed the breeze to drive her higher and higher in the air ...above the trees. She would hold it for only a few moments before she would start her pursuit as she power her wings after the Skarmory with her feet full extended. She would pass him once, if she could catch him and slash with those feet as she would power that beak into his skull. A relentless attack, she would chase him over this forest terrain, tearing, flapping her wings, injuring her opponent as much as she possible could as she used pursuit.

The Skarmory's eye glinted slightly. He hadn't seen any true aerial combat since his days in the wild, battling over territory. Of course with those battles came experience, understanding of which the Honchkrow did not. Height wasn't everything. Fighting in the air one could move in every feasible direction if they had a mind to. If one came from the right, you simple had to drop lower. If they came from above you rolled to the left. Most importantly of all, with a body made of polished steel, he was willing to drop far lower then any other bird.
Yellow eyes darting back to glance at his opponent only once, the Skarmory would close his left wing against his body, causing it to tilt heavily in the air. Closing the other the Steel-Type avian would drop into a rolling dive off to one side. He wasn't quite as equipped for a 'dogfight' as something like a Tailow perhaps; but for the bulkier Honchkrow he was more then prepared.
A chill would run down Crowe's spine then, spreading to the tips of his wings. His last aerial battle had been in the wilds...but that hadn't been his last time in the air. The last time he'd spread his wings...he'd met his death. At a disadvantage against the Magmar he'd taken to the skies to place himself out of reach...but it hadn't been enough...the fires had reached him, and he had plummeted to the ground.
Despite all the heat in that memory, it did nothing but make the Skarmory's blood run cold. Tilting his tail feathers and unfurling his wings, Crowe would catch himself backwards, something which might have snapped his wings had he not immediately flapped them. From the tips of his feathers into the air itself he would spread the bone chilling cold of death he felt. An Icy Wind meant to unbalance and freeze his opponent in her tracks!

( 18 - 8 + 7 -7 = 10 x 2 =20dmg)
(Awww....I am more than a little bit disappointed in this ending)
It would end with that single move, as the pokemon moves out of the way ...as the Houchkrow as caught by that counter attack of Icy Wind. Her feathers freezing in mid-air as she would plummet into the ground below ....her form disappearing into the trees as she would hit a few before hitting the ground out cold.
For those that love the sky, the icy winds were some of their biggest weakness and is why ...they tend to go south for the winter.

((Why so disappointed?))Closing his wings tight, Crowe would spiral around in the air, plummeting downward for a spell in a sharp dive. Angling his tail, the scourge of the skies would unfurl his wings and begin to circle. A sharp victorious caw would fill the air. Even after so long he still remained the lord of at least this domain.
For a time Raven would wait patiently below, allowing the Skarmory to enjoy this rare chance to stretch his wings...then with a flick of his wrist and a raise arm, he would recall the airborne Steel-Type. As he did, the boy would briefly marvel as the scenery melted away, leaving him once more in the midst of the vents. The Academy certain had some interesting things didn't it?
Scratching his head briefly, the boy would replace Crowe's ball upon his belt, then stride forward. He still had more rodents to eliminate...

Once more the boy would find himself greeted by nothing in this place. Not entirely surprising given his recent efforts; he imagined most of the Rattata were avoiding the area nearest the entrance now. Probably scurried back into their holes or the tunnels farther off.
No matter, he would find them, and he would eliminate them.

(I had so many plans for that Honchkrow, I bet you didn't even notice you could have caught it crying )
Though that wasn't true ...his exploits had been passed along while he was gone, and there was one Rattata that was actually waiting on him. It stood not in the entrance, it didn't want to make it too easy on him, but it was still near as it sat down and smiled as it looked at him. Ears going flat as he showed his fangs ...he had been waiting for this kid to appear.
He would hunt his comrades no more.
He would stand up and hiss at him as his tail flicks from one side to another.

((I did actually. I pondered whether or not that was actually a mistaken. Then ultimately I just decided even if it wasn't, a Honkrow didn't actually bring anything to my team I didn't already have. )) Raven would almost crack a smile as he saw the Rattata. Be it from human or Pokemon he recognized a challenge when he saw one, and he was pleased to see not all of these rodents were filthy cowards.
Reaching for his belt the boy would not grasp the ball of Crowe as he had so many times before. The Skarmory had made great strides in returning to his former glory, and now it was a certain Zorua's turn. Hopefully this battle would end better then the last...
With a simple flick of his wrist the boy would toss the ball, releasing the black furred fox onto the field. With bright eyes and a spring in his step the Zorua would puff out his chest and call out ">Helloooooooo...<" Trailing off a little on the O, Requiem would abruptly slide closer to his opponent ">Scuse me mate, but where are we exactly?<"
Pokemon: Zorua [M] Name & Level: Requiem, Lv 1 [Temperament] Bold Bio: During his rather lengthy adventure within the aether, Raven encountered a sight most odd. The forms of three Ghost-Type's surrounded by mist and wielding instruments; at their center standing a lone Zoroark with a microphone. Instead of fighting, the four Pokemon joined together in melodies most haunting; and when the performance had reached its end, the musicians shifted, the air glimmering about them as their forms disappeared, revealing a group of four rather unique Zorua. Requiem had been the lead singer of this group, and despite a lack of combat with the creature had left a rather distinct impression upon the child. Thus when Regal offered them the chance to obtain any one Pokemon they had encountered upon the island, Raven chose the little black fox. He knew nothing of Requiem's combat ability, but he had witnessed the signs of a leader, and the potential for so much more! Upon his first release into the world outside the aether, the Zorua declared this and all too follow his first 'Solo Tour', and that he was going to rock this world!
It was on the shores of Iron Island Requiem met death against the Magmar of a Strike Student named Trix, a member of the self named "Team Legacy". Though the Zorua had proven his strength, plowing into his opponent with devastating power, gusto on it's own didn't prove enough to save him from the Magmar's Focus Blast. Saved by the ability of the team's Guard Student, Requiem was reborn as an egg; and once hatched managed to retain a patchwork of his old memories. The memory of his own demise especially is something he feels will forever mark his soul. (Yup, well you know it's an illusion right, so the only thing that could mean ...was you past up a Pokelot. I wanted more time to hint that)
The pokemon would slide on the floor a bit as he would come forward. He saw his opponent and he knew exactly what to do with him ....as he would leap at him with his maw open and his teeth glowing with dark energy as the pokemon leaped at him. His teeth meant to catch and sink deeply into the flesh of his opponent if he could catch it himself.

(Oh well damn then...that would have been cool... )) ">Not a rock fan are ya mate?<" The Zorua would remark, taking a sliding step backward, his tail flicking from one side to the other ">Well then, I'll just have ta fix that!<" Requiem declared with a wink, his earring wiggling slightly as he tilted his head.
Dancing about nimbly, the vulpine rockstar would begin to sing, his tones as always dark and melodic, with a certain roughness contributed to most rock songs. It was merely a warm up, but the Zorua was countering with Round!

The Rattata would be hit by the attack this time ...as he felt his ears flatten against him. The sound running around and around in his brain making him feel as though his brain was being scrambled. His claws would spread out on the ground as he tries to hold himself steady against the attack ...as his tail would flick from side to side as his ears flatten themselves. He hated to have blood running down his fur ....as his eyes would narrow dangerously.
He would continue to hunker down ...as he looked to avoid whatever might be coming next.
