@Asch

Finally Asch reappeared on the floor, but it didn't seem as though he had any intent to stay. She kept pace with him for a distance, asking, "Attendre, qu'est-il arrivé? Quel était-il exactement?" The realist in her noted that he was obviously not in the best of moods and the probability of him stopping to answer her concerns was low, but the rest of her worried that something awful had happened between the two Rockets and wouldn't rest until those concerns were sated. She wouldn't press, though, if he made any indication of wanting to be left to himself.

Worst party ever was a distinct possibility.

@Aila

"Votre projet a été m'interroger sur des choses qui ne sont pas ses affaires!" Asch shouted back in reply to Aila as he stomped towards the costume room, not caring if the other French speakers heard him at this point. It wasn't her fault that any of this happened, thus his anger was not being directed at her. However, it was hard to contain his anger and inner turmoil at this point.

He continued on, whether Aila followed him or not. He was getting out of this dress and he was leaving. He hadn't had any fun since he came and there was no point for him to stick around.

@Asch

She flinched at the sudden shout, giving pause to her pursuit. Though aware she hadn't personally had any involvement in whatever had happened between Asch and Izaya, she still felt as though she bore some responsibility for it. By the time she replied - a murmured "je suis désolé" - it wasn't likely that her partner would hear her. She stood there a moment longer, as if the situation might reverse itself if she were patient, but this would not come to pass. Sullenly, she returned to the table separate from the dance floor and seated herself. At the very least, she could keep an eye on the fon Fabre heir and her partner's acquaintance in case there was anything worth reporting. Not that she exactly had any idea what Asch was watching for, but... it was something productive that she could do.

As Izaya returned from the bathroom, he went for the snack table to see what he could salvage. After finding a couple of chocolate chip cookies and some cartons of milk, he poured them out and went back to the tables beside the dance floor.

There he saw Aila sitting by herself. He came up behind her and placed a carton and a cookie on a napkin before her, watching the dancers absently while avoiding her gaze.

Izaya knew she felt bad, but Asch would cool down in time. He wouldn't be angry with her. Hopefully her own guilty conscience would allow her some respite for that, since he knew nothing he said or did would.

(Luke, Natalia)

For a time it was fun to enjoy the dancing, While most around her seemed to be still learning their way around dance moves, it was clear that Rosie herself was completely comfortable with it, her moves were controlled, and pressie. She had been trained, though she kept it basic for the others to follow suit if they felt like it.
She had fun either way!

But there was a break from the dancing when two people walked over to Luke, stopping him from dancing as they spoke, the tall person dressed in the super hero was saying something, and Luke didn't look to pleased.
Rosie blinked, glancing curiously between them, before suddenly recognition came between Luke and the blond women with the superhero.

She was a beautiful young women, didn't look any older then Rosie herself. The pink Pirate could tell, form the way she carried herself that she was a very refined, dignified young lady. her eyes were a bright, color of green. and her hair... she looked like she took good care of herself.
Did Luke know her? He certainly acted like he did.

"Is everything okay?" The trainer asked, with a little concern, stepping over to her friend and this pretty girl.

(Purrloin Twins)

Umbreon curled a lip at this reply, why should they not worry about their actions? did they -seriously- just say that?
He asked.

As they jumped on him he frowned, but for the time being didn't scold them from touching him, even though he clearly didn't care for the act, Umbreon was not a very touchy feely pokemon.

Umbreon also wasn't a very talkative pokemon either, even though he listened to every word the twins spoke.
He shifted on his hip under the table, turning his head to look over at the twins in turn as they spoke, eyelids drooping a little at their insistent that he was boring, and how they wanted to teach him fun, this did not interest him.

However, Umbreon did not disagree with the twins that when it came to training, that Izaya wasn't the best, and if the trainer can't control his pokemon, then there was a problem.
He stated, very simply, but with a firmness.

Izaya was likely to get himself killed anyway, no need to help it along.

"O-oh, t-thank you." Izumi gave a tiny smile when the pirate at the table stepped to the side to give her some walking room. She hadn't expected anyone to approach her-- "Ah- Um- t-thanks..." Izumi squeaked out as the man in the robe and silly helmet started going on about her arm. Most people at the party probably assumed it was part of her costume, but he'd seemed to figure out that it wasn't. "I-I..." Izumi rubbed her real arm nervously with the metal one. "K-Kaiba corp.... u-um..." She looked around, slightly panicked at being approached about it out of nowhere by a person she'd never met. The questions about her arm, at least, weren't the ones that made her clam up, and she did like people to take an interest in the actual arm.

"H-hi Dee... I-I'm Izumi..." She smiled shyly, "O-oh, y-yes, I did... thank you..." This man seemed nice, and if he wanted to hear about the workings of her mechanical arm, that was alright with her. "Um... it has the same gripping strength as a normal hand... or slightly stronger... a-and.... i-it has pressure sensors, but... not great heat sensors... so, it... um... it kind of like your arm being numb, but without the tingling..."

@Izaya

Though she detected someone's approach, she paid it little mind until a small offering of food and drink appeared before her. She turned to her company searchingly and found Izaya there. She watched momentarily - features forlorn, bitter, hesitant, expectant - but he would not meet her eyes. Words formed at her lips only to be discarded before they could become real. Defeated, she returned her absent gaze to the dance floor. Her hopes in coming to this party in the first place had been to ensure that her partner and recruit were able to go about their attendance without being troubled. How spectacularly she had failed in that; it likely would have turned out for the better if she hadn't gone at all.

the lighter twin asked. Mairu still wasn't sure why Umbreon insisted on having such a professional air at this time and place. It was killing the atmosphere.

(enemies)
...?> Kururi wondered allowed again. He couldn't mean the trainers like Shizuo. They'd done nothing against Team Rocket. Not yet, anyway. Besides, how did that affect them? It wasn't as if Shizuo discriminated them just for being Izaya's pokemon, so why should they have treated him any different just for being a trainer? Their relationship was a strictly neutral, straight-forward one. And, as the twins knew, Shizuo didn't mind so much when people were direct with him.

Mairu persisted, sounding a little impatient now. They were getting farther and farther from the snack table, not to mention Shizuo and Kasuka. They didn't even know why, either.

(we're not)....> Kururi corrected Umbreon quietly. (trying to kill)...>

led Shizuo to Izaya. If they find each other, it won't be any fault of ours.> the younger sister pointed out. trying to kill him. We just don't care if he dies. So where are we going again...? This is getting old. I swear we've been in circles.>

When Aila didn't touch the cookie or milk, when she chose not to speak, her recruit decided he'd done enough. They could talk later, maybe. Neither seemed to know what to say to the other right now. He didn't realize she had come precisely to prevent the disaster that had occurred, and so could not have understood her new, self-imposed guilt. Turning away without another word, Izaya took his remaining cookie and milk carton, scanning the guests in attendance.

There was Xander again. Frost wasn't at his side like he'd been when he'd left them, though...oh, the helmet-headed wizard was striking up a conversation with the cyborg angel. How quaint.

The deflated-looking hero strolled over to the pirate not too far away, taking a bite out of his cookie and a sip of his milk. Watching Izumi and the Technical Wizard, he held up the bitten cookie to Xander's mouth. "Want some?" he murmured absently, taking another gulp.

@ Aila

Seeing as Dith had his brood to keep track of, and Rosie was having fun with her friends, Mau couldn't help the faint smile. It was good to see people having fun. Though as he thought that, he caught sight of Aila and someone he didn't know. It wasn't the girl from before... or the, er... 'lady' who had joined them. Leaving an offering of cookies, the guy left, but Aila still seemed pretty down. He slipped away from the trainers with a wave, though was fairly sure no one would miss him.

Weaving through the throngs of people, he eventually came to the chairs where she was sitting and plopped down beside her. "Don't seem to be enjoying the party." He said softly before looking at her. Did this have something to do with the man-lady from earlier? Who was he anyways? He crossed his legs and leaned back, head dipping down, hiding his face under the hat he wore. "You ok?"

@Izaya, Mau

Izaya withdrew wordlessly, followed by his recruiter's sidelong gaze. Remembering her purpose for remaining at the party, she returned her attention to the dance floor and attempted to maintain it there as Mau approached the table. It was difficult to concentrate on her self-assigned mission anyway, and so she relented to the man's company.

"Not especially, no," she replied to his observation. Idly she poked at the little box of milk that had been left behind, rocking it back and forth on a corner. The second statement the other Rocket presented - a question - drew a quiet hum in response, followed by a moment of silence and, finally, a reply, "Yes."

(Dith)

When Dith asked to speak to him, worded in a more interesting way then he had heard before, figuring it came with the fact that this guy had a heavy accent.
Jerome glanced at him, before wordlessly following.
Yeah, he knew what was coming, and this didn't help with him feeling like that thug he was back in Jr. High.
though, this time Jerome knew better then to go punching papa in the face.

They didn't go to far though before Dith stopped him, and asked, in an impressively low tone, what his intentions were.

This drew a from from the ex-gangster, his hands tightening a little inside his pockets, but leaving them in.
The statement's "exactly" was accentuated, and this left Jerome standing wordlessly for a time.
He found this a little more difficult to answer then he expected it to be.

"Ya scared I'm ganna get her hurt, ain't ya." He finally answered, his tone sounded calm, like he wasn't at all surprised by this, nor did he seem offended or angry. But his eyes were fixed very intently on the larger man, something that might have been a testosterone thing, since this Dith guy was pretty damn intimidating. But ******** is Jerome was going to show it.

(Presea, Asch)

Shizuo lead her onto the dance floor then awkwardly held her in the position of a slow dance. He knew how to dance, having been taught how to a bit(an boy had THAT been embarrassing...), but it had been a while. "Yes, I was born and raised in the city. And you?" Why was it always so difficult to interact with people? There were only a few that he didn't get awkward with when he interacted with them for a while. Sharing an apartment with Izumi hadn't helped in that matter either but at least it hadn't made it worse.

Once the song ended and he stopped them though, before he could ask if Presea wanted another dance a, girl?, ran by looking man and was yelling at someone. "Could you excuse me for a moment?" He asked, remembering the etiquette lessons Shinra had someone roped him into one year back in high school. "I'm just going to see if something is up then be right back." He promised then gave his dancing partner a nod and hurrying after the princess.

When she, he?, ducked into the changing rooms he paused outside them. "Are you ok?" He had recognized the 'princess' from the slight commotion a few minutes ago with a super hero but at the time he hadn't gotten a good look at them. "Was that person bothering you?" If so he would either tell security or deal with them his self.

(Izaya, Luke, Rosie)

Quiet honestly Natalia almost missed it when Nakura decided to take his leave. Not proper of her but still. She was rather distracted by the questions going through her mind about Luke and her encounters with him with in the past half hour or so. She gave her childhood friend a slight puzzled and hurt look "What do you mean you didn't know? I saw you a short few minutes ago." She put her hands on her hips and gave him a flat stare. "If you are still going to have a tantrum though then fine." At the moment Natalia didn't feel up to dealing with more of the same as before. At least Luke hadn't run in the opposite direction again this time.

Farther confusion for the night however came with a familiar voice shouted in french. What in the world was going on here? And what was that about projects and things not being their business? It was starting to look like she never should have come to Kodo, worried about her boys or not. She did however stop her looking around, something she had started when she heard the shout, to look at the young woman dressed as a pirate when she talked. "Quite honestly I am not sure any more." she answered.

(Punch bowl group)

...It really was funny how quickly Frost could be distracted by technology. Xander watched as the older man light up in excitement and started to blast the poor woman with questions about it. "You might want to slow down a bit there, you're scaring her." He wasn't sure that his date would hear him though, as lost as he was. He really was cute when he was like this though. He then looked over at Tambrey and gave her a smile. "It's ok, I knew he was trying to help." Even if the little bat kind of messed that up.

He was distracted away from his admireing of Frost and listening to the woman with the metal arm though when a rather down troden Izaya came up to him. He ignored the cookie and looked the hero costumed man with a concerned look. "Are you ok? What's wrong?" he asked. If need be he was willing to leave Frost to his gleeful questions to take Izaya aside to help him.

(Jerome)

Answering a question with another question? It was a fairly obvious question too, but then again on the other hand it hadn’t sounded flippant so there wasn’t any reason for him to get worked up about it. “Yes,” Dith responded after a moment, returning Jerome’s intense look like for like, “or perhaps take advantage of her, or just unintentionally lead her into danger. Perhaps you don’t intend to do either of the first, and are smart enough to avoid doing the last, but you must realise you are hardly a reassuring figure and that somebody who cares about her might have questions. I care very much for Izumi and I simply wish to make it clear to you that if you harm her or cause her to come to harm, things will not go well between us.”

Jerome didn’t seem overtly hostile or angered by being confronted, that was slightly reassuring and of itself.... Unless he was one of those that seemed quite calm until they exploded and beat somebody to a pulp with the first thing that came to hand. Maybe he was just being prejudiced. Maybe it was quite unreasonable for him to ask these things. Izumi was, after all, an adult in her own right not a little girl that needed to be sheltered... yet she was so innocent and shy, surely he was justified in at least asking questions. Yes. He was. He wouldn’t be justified in trying to stop Izumi seeing this man – unless he did turn out to be serious trouble and she just refused to see it – but asking questions was fine to his mind at any rate.

*****

(Punch bowl, Izumi)

Xander was probably right. Frost nodded absently and made a vague gesture towards the taller blond but didn’t turn around to acknowledge his companion, which was fortunate as spotting Izaya trying to feed him a cookie would have thoroughly derailed his good mood.

“Apologies,” Frost/Dee twitched a brief smile at Izumi, eyes still alight with interest “I tend to get a little... enthused about things like that. What would you like to drink? I’m afraid a Gengar has had most of the punch but there seems to be a little left, and there are other drinks too.” Resist the urge to ask further questions until she had her drink.... Well, alright, maybe just one more. “How is the dexterity? The fingers look remarkably well made.” He was going to go on and ask about the range of movement in the wrist, but that would probably count as bombarding her again.

More people worrying? Izaya must have really been off today if this many people could so easily identify his mood. Normally he was pretty good at keeping even his troubled emotions unknown to the general public. Though to be fair, he supposed, Aila, Faleen, and Xander probably couldn't be classified under that particular category.

He was tired, though. Shizuo's mere presence had been stressing him out the entire time, wearing him down. Heck, this whole mess could have probably been attributed to him. Just another reason or two to hate the man with every fiber of his being. Nakura hadn't seen the ex-bartender as of late, though, so maybe Shizuo had left. He'd never been too good around large groups of people.

"Is he flirting with her?" the grunt questioned incredulously, having never actually seen Frost take so much of an interest in anyone or anything before - not even Xander. He wasn't sure how the platinum blonde man went about the process considering what Izaya knew about his social ineptitude. The shorter agent might not even have realized what it looked like he was doing. Regardless, Nakura decided to take advantage of the situation to hang around Xander without any dirty looks, harsh words, or ominous threats.

"What do you mean, 'what's wrong'? Everything's wonderful~! Aren't you enjoying the party?" the superhero asked, beaming up at the tall teen. "Though if you ask me," he whispered, putting a conspiratorial hand near his mouth, "It looks like your precious Frosty-chan's gotten himself a distraction. Were you not enough?"

It probably wasn't any way to treat someone who seemed genuinely concerned with his own well-being, but that was exactly what drove Izaya to do it. He couldn't stand Xander and his genuine concern. Not for him or anyone. The young man had always been too soft and trusting in the grunt's opinion. That, plus Orihara didn't like being read so easily.

It caused him to be just a tad more spiteful than usual, drawing Xander's attention to a potential problem of his own rather than questioning about any of Izaya's. He finished the rest of the milk and threw the remaining cookie away. It tasted like nothing in his mouth.
