Personally Naruto got SO annoying with the "Dattabyo"'s that Naruto said constantly. So I prefer Shippuuden. But my favorite character is Gaara as the Kazekage. Personally the way he was portrayed in Shippuuden and the way Kankuro really started to acknowledge him as his brother when he was poisoned by Sasori of the Red Sands... was just really well done....
