"We're going to workout...do you like running?" he asked, standing up stretching his legs and back.

((OOC: That's fine...it seems this threads moving really slow now anyway, so that shouldn't be a problem.))

"I don't particularly dislike it," Iris stated, "but I've always been more fond of jogging."

Iris preferred the steadiness of jogging as opposed to strenuous running. She knew each person had their own tastes, but personally she preferred stability over speed.

((Okay! blaugh Hehe... isn't it amazing? I left the house at 7:30AM and I just got back about half an hour ago... sweatdrop and it's like, 10:10PM now. Bleh.))

Piper walked closer until she picked up the beat of faint footsteps getting closer. The group was dispersing, she gritted her teeth angry at her own carelessness and sat on the ground where she stood. They were all to have individual lessons so that they could practice on areas of alchemy that they particulary weren't strong in. From what she gathered she'd missed the briefing this morning of how the school days were going to go. She ran her hand through her hair which was still a tangle mess and had yet to be unravelled, thanks to her lack of time to brush it. "Wonderful blunder for the first day." She sighed and begam to draw in the dirt as she stared straight ahead past the tree line on the east side of the university.

((sorry. internet trouble. =( ))

Anslia nodded and quickly rose, her notebook and pencil in hand. There'd been books in the common room... probably best to start reading. How to make transmutation circles... the different kinds, etc... In a few moments she was back outside, Introduction to Alchemy and Transmutation Circles for Beginners under her arm. She chose a spot beneath a tree, stretching her long legs out infront of her and began reading.

Chapter 1... What is Alchemy? Already covered that, she thought. Chapter 2... Where to Start Well, why not start there? In order to be a successful alchemist, you must be strong in both mind and body. This author suggests that dedicated student begin by devoted at least an hour a day to the care and upkeep of their own bodies. Aerobics, and flexibility-strength training are important. Work to build up your own stamina. (See Appendix for a list of suggested exercises.) Next, it is important to menatlly prepare yourself. For the next five minutes, try and medidate on one idea... ...

((Sorry i haven't been posting...it's been a little crazy recently.))

"Allright, well we're going to run a few laps right now. I want you to keep my pace all the way through." He stretched his arms behind his back for a second, then was off toward the edge of the classes building. He wasn't running, more of a fast jog. She should be able to keep the pace...he thought, checking to make sure he hadn't left her behind.

Iris nodded and tried to follow Shtona to the best of her capabilities. She started off at a fast jog, and almost had to run to keep up with Shtona, for he was far taller than her.

((It's okay blaugh ))

Shtona slowed down just a little, I suppose i was going a little fast... When she drew parallel to him he asked if she was alright as they passed the fountain. He wasn't tired at all so far, he had long legs so his stride was long and could carry him faster and easier. He'd also been on a strict workout system until he'd opened the school. All the work that came with it kept him from doing much physical activity.

A little winded, Iris nodded as she kept up with Shtona. He had slowed down noticeably, most likely because he thought she wouldn't be able to to keep up such a pace. She tried to give him a smile to further indicate that she was indeed fine, but wasn't sure if her teacher saw it.

He continued with their jog, circling the dormitory corner and heading back toward the sparring grounds. "We won't do too much running for now, there's still plenty to do before your lesson's done."

Panting slightly, Iris agreed. She kept up Shtona's pace and followed him obediently.

((Sorry for the short post, I'm having writer's block or something.. sweatdrop ))

"For instance," he continued, keeping the same pace as they circled the buildings again, "we're going to be doing some ab and arm workouts, starting light of course. Then a quick sparring match and a couple cooldown laps. That'll be the starting routine for us in days to come."
PostPosted: Mon Aug 20, 2007 9:22 pm

Iris tried not to looked too shocked at the amount of exercise that she was going to be doing. She had known the work would be hard, yet for some reason she felt as though she wouldn't be able to do it.

Gritting her teeth, Iris nodded feebly and continued circling the buildings with Shtona.

You don't get anywhere without hard work, she thought to herself and pushed herself to run a little faster.

Kain had dashed off as Shtona and Iris began their workout. Strolling out near the fountain and sat on the stone pathway. He drew out a centering Transmutation circle on the ground That should help with the channeling. The wind rustled his hair and he concentrated. It began to whip up around him, and funneled down slowly forming an oval-shaped shield, barely visible in the misty air. Kain pushed his senses outward to the fountain, the liquid lifts into the air and onto the swirling shield. Kain moved his hands slowly over his head in an arch, as the shield jerked slightly trying to grow. Kain was angered by the jolt, cursing himself he pushed the orb outward quickly and it exploded into a mist. "Smoother, Smoother" he said aloud. Placing his hands together he closed his eyes and put his palms to the ground on the edges of the circle. As he concentrated he pulled the air around him again along with the water. Pushing it out slightly it jolted again. "Uggh, Come on Kain, get it right!" He grunted to himself. He repeated the process many many times before finally getting the shield to expand properly. Kain sighed joyfully as he dropped the orb of water and leaned back against the fountain base. Proud of himself he dozed off waiting on Shtona's call.

((ok guys im back for good now. sorry that i have been bouncing in and out so much. redface ))

A few laps later he slowed to a walk in front of the sparring grounds, walking slowly back and forth to let his heart slow down. If you stop suddenly after running for a long time it makes it really hard on the heart and lungs. He took long drawn out breaths, waiting for his pulse to slow down a little more before he sat and started stretching. "You should do the same..." he said, reaching for his right foot.
