Taima could feel G panting and felt vaguely guilty that she wasn't doing anything to help--and guilt, that was a new emotion. It was almost regrettable that there wasn't time to explore it. She hugged G back before wiggling out of his arms, landing on the step beside him. She took his hand and squeezed, grinning encouragement as she tugged at him. Let's go, the gesture seemed to say.  There was another sign. Again, Shun didn't even bother trying to read it. He opened the door, then glanced behind. He could see the figure of the false wolf girl coming up from behind. Nodding to her, he turned and continued up the steps. They should be getting close, he figured. But there still seemed like there were a lot of stairs left. Serafina winced as she saw the way Gargantuan wheezed and panted for breath. The poor guy was going to run out of breath before they even got up there, and there were so many stairs yet remaining for all of them.
Admittedly, that made her glad that she had left his grasp, as much as it would have been so much better for her aching legs and feet to have just been carried up. Gargantuan was already working so hard for them--she needn't make him work harder when she had feet of her own. She would climb for her own self, even if Gargantuan managed to get a bit ahead of her. That was okay. She could still see him clearly.

As Jing rocketed past, Gargantuan could only blink with surprise before his face broke out in a big, soundless grin. It was the arm slipping around him that made him stiffen for a moment, offering a curious glance at Nuk until he realized just what the young man was doing.
The tips of his ears flushed pink, but Gargantuan couldn't help but be touched by the offer of help.
Andrew's squirming earned another silent grunt, but the big man reluctantly let him loose. Taima, too? G actually just frowned at her for a moment, not quite wanting to release her, but eventually he knelt until her feet were touching the stairs again. You be careful, both of you.

We can't speak now? The look on her face was rather comical as she pondered how pointless this was. To take the voice from those who couldn't hear? What would it matter in the end at that point?
Stumbling along behind Nuk and G she could only shrug looking at Nuk with a delighted smile. She moved her mouth something about what was that? And leaned towards Nuk, mocking the fact he couldn't say a word to her that she would have never heard at all.

Andrew spotted the frown on G's face and tried to smile back, but his face was pale, drained of the flush the drink had brought. He appreciated the thought but really no he wanted to walk. Mitsu paused again at the sign but but tilted her head. If she could no longer hear then what did it matter if she could speak? Turning toward Shun she followed after him quickly to keep up. She didn't want to get too far behind like before.

He was trying to talk to the voice again, but this time he couldn't feel the words coming out of his mouth. Roch looked around, realizing what was going on quickly. He could only hope that he didn't lose his sight next floor, he thought as he silently headed up the steps.
There was no backing down. No walking away. Not this time.

Shun was a little surprised to see her dash ahead like that. The Reaper picked up the pace a bit, but didn't break off into a full sprint at the moment. He didn't want to risk accidentally bowling her or anyone else over. Falling down all these stairs would suck after all. What was that nuk? he couldn't quite tell since you were eating his dust. the burst of speed was only that, just a burst. the pumping of adrenaline gave out and Jing could feel the tightness in his chest. The pumping of blood in his body, it all felt so real. But it wasnt. none of it was, other than this. this moment, the moment where g passed by after a sluggish trek and he was mouthing the words "Elephant juice" over and over to the silly skin walker. it looked like sammy had a similar idea, he was proud of this double team. the height up must ahve been high, the voice that spoke in its etheral way felt... louder, not sound but just by sensation is seemed for forceful. speaking of their birth... "You know what voice, you can suck my co-" the voice might have been glad that it had the power to shut off the sense of sound. Again Mitsu was thinking about how this tower wasn't well thought out unless someone was really into exercise. She wasn't against it, being a nurse, or...thought she was a nurse, either way she knew it was a healthy pass time but this seemed a bit excessive. Why did it have to be in a tower anyway? Couldn't it have been in the basement.
Mitsu could tell it was getting harder to climb though. Her body was getting tired and worn and she had to brace herself against the wall as she continued upward. After a while the voice chimed in again with it's nonsense and she frowned. She already didn't exist and this world was falling apart. Their kingdoms had been out to destroy one another. The only way she wouldn't have been taken out was if she had survived and the odds were not in her favor. And so, as painful as it was becoming, she pressed on pausing to see that Shun had caught up with her. It wasn't hard to see she was hurting but she wanted to reach the top.

There were certainly a lot of stairs. Shun saw Mitsu speed on and he hurried up to stay close. As he moved, he heard the voice speaking to him yet again. He was about to mutter under his breath in response, but realized that he couldn't talk in turn. Well that was all fine. He didn't care that much. But he had no kingdom. He never had a kingdom. He can continue to live without the kingdom. Sorry voice, he wasn't a fragment. Far from it. Looking ahead, he caught Mitsu's glance. She looked like she was struggling. Furrowing his brow he nodded and motioned upwards. They needed to keep going. Taima didn't go too far. She wasn't that curious about what lay at the top of the tower. It cost her nothing to stay by the big man's side, to support him as he had supported everyone else. They couldn't hear, they couldn't speak, but they could still be there for each other.
