"Good plan," she agreed, then glanced back down at the glowing monster stomping around. It wasn't funny, not even a little bit, but his comment pulled a rather startled chuckle from the dainty Sun.

She needed the laughter, badly. She needed anything that distracted away from the destruction. Not just of the island, but of the people as well. Evan's change, Rep's heightened violence, Her own injuries. Everything was falling apart.

Robert did not look so hot as far as Leon could tell. And he wasn't doing too good either *rimshot* The boxer was fairly sure that twinkletoes might have been low on sugar. there was after all no more juice boxes for him. It was kinda..... depressing, seeing the lunkhead all quiet and mopey and not trying to create awkward porn sounds while putting runes together.


"Hey, you need a hug?" it was an awkward statement, especially with their history, a sordid history full of punches and yelling and bickering. "You look like you need one."

But Leon knew he was there when he needed him, and right now looked like the favor might need to be cashed in. "I'm an excellent hugger, you can ask Mads."

More laughing, this time with a slight hysterical edge, because what they were talking about, what they had been talking about, was utterly ridiculous and silly and not at all in proportion to what was actually going on.

She shook her head, and then spotted another Sun hunter kicking the s**t out of harpoon gun to get it to fire. That managed to steal her attention for a few minutes, at least until the thing finally did fire, then she turned back to Solomon. "Maybe not awful, but possibly not very fitting." Her lisp twitched, almost a grin, then she was holding her hand up in the universal sign for 'one minute'.

Peyton moved quickly towards the other Sun huntress. She didn't know her name, but that didn't matter at the moment. "Hey." Not a bad start. "There's a harpoon over there that seems to be reserved for me, but as you can see I'm pretty beat up and not even close to my best." She gestured towards her bandaged shoulder her arm in it's sling. "Would you like to take a few whacks at it in my stead?"

It was as if Robert got stuck in the solar plexus, the pained look that he had as he openly took him up on the offer and held on to dear life. Whatever it was, he was reaching for help.

If there was anything that he learned was that, all they had in this new life of theirs was each other, and it may not even be for very long. The Bear hug was returned, choosing to not comment on the sobs. "Anytime Pal, just don't grab my butt." The boxer rumbled back, trying to at least keep it normal between them.

Robert needed a moment of normalcy, even during the battle to save the outside home area.

......................... from complete destruction again. "I'll make you some fruit punch later, you need some sort of juice box." he offered the lug, that needed a pal.

He wasn't going to tell him that it was a sugar free protein powder mix he had on hand, some secrets were best left unsaid.

[ Sun Division ]

Milo couldn't say that he was expecting as much as this guy, actually he couldn't really recall what he had been told to get him here at all now that he thought about it. Huh. Interesting. The teen paused for a moment realizing until he simply shook his head from the thought, not important probably. "I'm sure I signed up for monster fights," sounded about right, he chuckled. "Didn't expect to be eaten and thrown up though," again, at least he wasn't dead. It made for an interesting experience? Maybe? He could be added to the heroes he watched through the power of the internet being eaten and coming out alive, he just didn't get to come back with great flair and with the creature blowing up behind him.

Well, that was what everyone was trying to do now, he guessed. Around him, a few more harpoons were being sent off in volleys towards the giant thing. And here he was sitting. "Aa, you didn't have to," he blinked, watching the other guy hobble over. "You okay though, dude?" Had he been at the beach? He didn't look familiar but he took the offered handkerchief regardless - hopefully this wasn't a death flag, that when he found the time to return it all nice and clean, the other guy would find his end, that would be terrible.

"I'm Milo, by the way," he offered, cleaning a little more of the blue goo from his face. It was small, wasn't going to do much more than that but it was still appreciated. "And I think that..." he began, pushing himself back up to his feet to get another look at the thing, "is not Kamen Rider Kiva gone crazy..." it was probably going to be a personal joke, he still grinned though, "So, I don't know... run of the mill super sized bat creature?" And a shrug.

Juice boxes.

Robert pulled away from Leon, his face flushed and his eyes rimmed with red. He swallowed, as a whole new wave of melancholy overwhelmed him, for a reason far sadder than the one he was feeling before. He pouted, a childish expression at best, and patted Leon's shoulder fondly.

"I haven't seen you since." He didn't feel the need to explain what he meant. "How are you holding up?"

It figured. Count on a monster invasion to bring people together.

SUN HUNTER
(Filling in for Peyton)

Cursing under her breath as she gave the hunk of meta a second kick, Kat stood back a moment as if to look it over. Surprisingly, this harpoon was going to give her more trouble than her own. That was fine, though. She did enjoy a good challenge now and then.

Pausing a moment, she extended her hand to the other girl. "Nice to meet you, Peyton. I'm Kat. You out of the pods long?" She was sure she had seen the girl around before, but with all the recent traffic in Deus, she was beginning to lose track.

"Already did," Jack replied easily. "That gun is something else to handle, no? I had my fun with it before you did." He wore the smile of a skeleton in return because, well, when wasn't he smiling about something? Much less about his first monster invasion. "Apologies to the miss if any insult was perceived--though frankly I'd rather let the Town absorb the damage if it means saving the rest of our equipment."

He had barely scratched the surface, judging from what he saw at work right now.

He was wiping at the aforementioned sweat carefully as he turned to Noah. "Me? Oh I an absolutely peachy~ Nothing like a quick runic lesson and terse orders to get the blood going, hmm? Managed to get a few in myself; the first plasma shot was mine." If only he had a camera. "Saw the swallowed suckers get vomited out? See, nothing to worry about at all~"
