Okay well that also sucked. Only what… five minutes after being healed, Butterfree was back to being beaten up and bruised and more miffed than ever. She didn’t even acknowledge Sebastian as he tried to coax her over for a few more potions, apparently very much done with her trainer.
Sebastian frowned and sighed. Well that wasn’t good. So much for really bonding with Butterfree. It wasn’t as though he wanted her to get beaten up by that Fletchling –boy, was that thing fast- but what was done was done. He rubbed the back of his neck, giving another sigh. Ah well. He might as well set up camp and rest.

Food and rest would be nice right about now, and then hopefully they could move out to the gym. And after the gym… probably to Geoseng Town for a chance at an Eevee like he’d intended. He’d probably need to go for another badge or two afterwards as well… probably head back to Johto? Gosh, there was a lot to probably do. Things seemed a lot easier a decade ago.
For now though, he needed to worry about his camp. He pulled out the rest of his pokeballs, deciding to let his pokemon out for a bit. It’d been a while and it’d be the first camp out, so why not? Everyone appeared in their glimmers of light, looking around in mixes of awe, cautiousness or disinterest. Sebastian snapped his fingers together to get the lots attention, gesturing to their surroundings.
"Alright all, we’re going to camp here tonight." He smiled, shuffling through his bag a moment. "It’ll be fun, right? "

The looks he received didn’t exactly exude confidence or joy at the notion of camping out. Naps was already yawning once more, eyeing Kaiser who seemed more focused on getting into Sebastian’s bag then anything. Blackjack was busy sniffing around, Spade was hovering and twitching close to the ground, watching the Butterfree with distrust who had decided to perch herself as high in a nearby tree as possible. His gaze only diverted from the butterfly pokemon from time to time to look at Fletching, who was busy hoping around and chirping, eyeing her new companions with curiously wide eyes.
Well alright then. Sebastian dug around in his bag, producing what looked a bit like an over-sized trowel. A quick snap of his wrist though and the thing extended to proper shovel size, catching his pokemon’s attention. He stuck it in the ground, eyeing the pokemon a moment. "You guys… could probably help you know." They were too busy staring at the shovel though…

"Spade, Blackjack, why don’t the pair of you go find some wood?" Spade gave a twitchy look, the sparks from his paralysis flickering through the air once more.
"Oh… I’m sorry, Spade. I forgot about that." Sebastian frowned, tapping his chin. He made to gesture at Naps, halting and remembering the bit of an altercation they’d had earlier, instead redirecting to Kaiser. "Blackjack and Kaiser then." The Mareep just mewled in disappointment, Blackjack looking less than thrilled before giving a little grunt and heading out to the forest. The sheep pokemon glanced after the Houndoom, mewling before quickly shuffling after begrudgingly.
Hopefully, they’d come back. He redirected his attention to Naps, giving Butterfree a passing glanced. He had a feeling she wasn’t in the mood for helping. "Naps, help me clear the place up a bit." He glanced at Spade and Fletching, the little bird twittering and flapping her wings excitedly. "You two just rest, okay?"

Naps surprisingly took to the task of clearing well, managing to help Sebastian shuffle any debris into a little pile. Once that was done, he’d dug a little hole to serve as a mini-fire pit. He kind of wanted a hot meal and so a fire was kind of called for. If Naps didn’t seem like he was ready to conk out at any minute, he might’ve just used the fire pokemon’s flames instead. Oh well.
Just as he was retracting the shovel and shoving it back amongst his things, Kaiser and Blackjack returned. The Mareep had numerous sticks poking out from his woolly body, looking sort of like a walking piece of cotton candy. Blackjack had more in his mouth, eyeing the mewling sheep who seemed rather dissatisfied with the situation. Sebastian quirked an eyebrow. Well, that certainly worked.
"Good job you two!" Their trainer praised, collecting the sticks and setting them up in the little pit. This would work just fine. "I’ll get some food going for us all in a minute here, alright?"

True to his word, Sebastian started getting a meal together for everyone. As their trainer went about preparing food, the pokemon did their own thing. Naps was plopped hear the fire pit, adding slight coughs of embers for no particular reason. Spade and Kaiser were nestled together nearby; apparently the Mareep offered a bit of relief from the paralysis effect Spade was suffering; which kind of seemed odd but he wasn’t about to question it. Blackjack was resting lazily nearby, one eye open as Fletchling twittered around the fire dog curiously, chirping happily and hoping from atop his head to the ground, to back on his head to the ground and so on and so forth. Luckily, the Houndoom didn’t seemed too bothered by this.
And Butterfree of course was still nesting in the nearby tree, ignoring everyone. She didn’t seem at all interested in interacting with the group it seemed. Hopefully she’d eat or at least, let Sebastian heal her at some point.

If you liked things as dull as dirt. Did Sebastian understand the concept of seasoning? Probably not. Which is exactly why his pokemon were staring. They’d sniffed at it a bit and even Kaiser had gone for a few bites before stopping and looking horrifically disappointed. If there was anything in the world the Mareep hadn’t expected to be betrayed by, it was food.
Sebastian frowned, going ahead and eating his food without much concern. It seemed fine to him; he had no real inclining why they didn’t seem to enjoy it. Well… most of them. Fletchling seemed fond of his cooking, picking at her food and chirping thoughtfully as she did.

Eventually, the food was consumed. At least it was edible, even if it was rather tasteless and most of his pokemon and cleared their dishes. Well, all except for Butterfree, who had remained in the tree the entire time, not bothering to acknowledge the cooling food at the base of the tree.
Sebastian frowned as he retrieved the dish, looking from the frozen food dish to the tree top. "Are you not hungry?" No response, which just made his frown grow further. He really wasn’t sure what the problem was. His other pokemon had been hurt in battles and they hadn’t responded like this. Sebastian sighed. Oh well, he’d have to deal with it later. She was safe up in the tree at least and could take care of herself if any other problems arose.

Sebastian collected everything together; there wasn’t any water around as far as he knew, so he made due getting them clean with some water he had and some wet napkins. It worked well enough and when he got a chance, he’d wash them properly back in town.
With everything cleaned and put away, he pulled out his sleeping bag and set it up. Luckily he and Naps had cleared the area enough that he didn’t have to worry much. He rolled it out, glancing at the fire pit. It was starting to die down and with Naps having nodded off after dinner, would be receiving no more fuel.
He swapped out his clothes for his sleepwear, which really just consisted of some pajama bottoms and his under shirt, folding his stuff away and storing it in his sleeping bag. Most his pokemon had already dozed off or were in the process of it; Spade and Kaiser were still huddled together, with Fletchling having opted to perch on the Mareep’s fleece. How safe that was, Sebastian wasn’t sure but whatever made the pokemon happy. Naps had fallen asleep near the fire and Blackjack seemed to be wavering between falling asleep and keeping an eye on their surroundings.
With pokemon accounted for, Sebastian yawned and snuggled into sleep.

It was pretty darn early when Sebastian started coming around, eyes squinting against the limited streams of light managing to seep through from the still rising sun. He was used to getting up at the crack of dawn for work, but seeing as how this was a forest and not his bed, it was still a little disorientating. Shifting a bit, he yawned noting that there seemed to be a weight near the top of his head. Was something in his hair?
Sebastian reached a hand up, gently patting at the strange occupant. Fletchling had apparently decided it preferred the comfort of her trainer’s hair rather than the Mareep’s fleece. She gave a light little chirp when she was prodded, wings ruffling a bit before she flew herself off and to the side.
He gave a yawn, sitting up and rubbing his eyes and eyeing the pokemon a moment, offering her a little pat on the head. "Good mornin’. Sleep well? " The little bird chirped, sounding as though she did indeed sleep well. That was good. Sebastian gave a little smile and nod, shifting and moving himself out of his sleeping bag. Time to get up and ready.

The rest of his pokemon were still sleeping, for good reason, and so Sebastian did his best to move with little sound. He’d pressed a finger to his lips to indicate that Fletchling stay quiet as well, though by the sounds of it, the rest of the forest was starting to wake up. The little bird seemed to understand, giving a single chirp before perching herself on her trainer’s shoulder, watching as he set to work.
In no time at all, he was redressed and rolling up his sleeping bag to store it away. At about this time, Blackjack was coming around, watching his trainer lazily as he worked, and giving a noticeable yawn after a minute or two of watching. "Morning, sleep well?" Sebastian questioned, the Houndoom giving a little grunt, shifting a bit in his spot. Well… alright then. He’d take that as a ‘maybe’.

The rest of his pokemon started coming around as well with different yawns and shuffles and the standard twitching. Sebastian was busy fishing through his bag, producing some pokemon food and setting a bit of it out for everyone to eat. He figured they’d have a proper breakfast once they got back to the pokemon center but a snack would hold them over for a bit. While Fletchling took to the food, the others gathering to do the same, he dug around and pulled out a brush.
Sebastian undid his braid, running his fingers through his hair and shaking out the few feathers that Fletchling had not surprisingly left behind. As he was fooling with his hair, he noted someone was missing; Butterfree was still playing loner apparently. This was getting concerning.

He made his way over to the tree Butterfree had been occupying the night before while he brushed his hair out, gaze narrowing a bit as he looked up and spotted the pokemon still nestled in the branches. Sebastian frowned, pausing and placing a hand on his hip.
"Are you really going to stay up there…?" He called. Butterfree just shifted, her bug eyes glancing down at Sebastian before her feelers twitched in agitation, turning away from him with no response. The young man sighed in agitation, running a hand through the top of his hair as he tried to figure out what to do. What was Butterfree’s problem? Had he actually messed up with a pokemon already? There had to be something he could do to appease her at least.

Sebastian frowned. He didn’t really have time for this; he wanted to get moving and onto better and brighter things and an uppity Butterfree wasn’t about to stop him. He took one of the bands and put his hair back into a ponytail so it wasn’t in his way before he started scaling the tree. It was a nice one for climbing, luckily enough or else he wouldn’t be getting anywhere.
He paused once he reached the branch Buttrerfree was on, slinging an arm over the nearest branch to keep himself steady, the other pointing at the pokemon. "Come on, we need to get going. I need you to stop pouting.""Free." The bug pokemon responded curtly, wings flickering a bit as she stood more at attention. Sebastian’s frown grew.
"So you got a little beat up, it’s not that bad-""FREE!" Apparently, Butterfree didn’t agree with that statement. Sebastian just stared at her for a long moment before shaking his head, reaching for her pokeball on his belt with his free hand. "Well if you want to be that way, that’s fine. But we need to get going so-"
The squeal of disapproval wasn’t what startled him nor the sudden movement of Butterfree apparently launching herself up in the air just a bit. No it was more the sudden stream of powder slamming into his face that really surprised him. One moment he was hanging in a tree attempting to retrieve his pokemon and the next he was slammed on the ground, practically gasping for air at the stinging sensation in both his eyes and lungs. What in the world was that? It wasn’t pleasant that was sure. Sebastian gave a harsh hacking couple of coughs, sitting up and rubbing at his eyes frantically. Wow that hurt. That really hurt.
His other pokemon were suddenly alarmed at their trainer pretty much falling out the tree, Spade rushing over despite the paralysis still being in effect, nuzzling the side of his trainer’s face worriedly. Sebastian blinked through the tears a moment, reaching a hand up and giving the Mightyena a reassuring pat. "I’m… I’m fine. Thanks buddy." He sort of rasped, getting to his feet. No seriously, that hurt. Fletchling was chirping frantically at the sight, Kaiser and Naps watching with utter surprise. Even Blackjack seemed a tad bit off-put by what had occurred. The only one who didn’t seem to care was of course, Butterfree.
Sebastian gave another cough, retrieving the pokeballs and returning everyone but Blackjack, Spade and Butterfree. He… needed some eyes and those two were good for the job. He glanced back towards the tree, a hand still to his eyes wiping away tears and coughing, spotting Butterfree fluttering to the ground in a huff. Without a second thought he returned here too, staring at the pokeball a moment with a frown. Well… that sucked.
Sebastian sighed, retrieving his bag and cleaning up the mess before beginning to head off towards the forest exist, ushering Blackjack and Spade to sort of lead the way. He certainly hoped this wasn’t that respect issue Ajicka had been talking about because… it sucked.
