As Hel made her way back to doing things for the professor, Levi would give an approving grin to the reaper. That is- up until the point when she'd give West a nudge in the ribs for his wording. Master? Yew can call yerself a flamin' cockatrice, West, but sure as heckle hope ya'ain't no master a nobody. Ownership of kin was just wrong in all manners of Levi's books. Though, some did choose that lifestyle. The ghoul supposed that was alright; weird, but alright. Levi certainly wasn't one of those willing. Yew want me ta'be a master'a wrath demons? Brow raised, Levi posed the question jokingly. Indeed the tatzel knew he was likely just being a stupid boil with such a farce but if she were to turn the subject matter around, what would he think of it?
Shaking her head with a smile, Levi just accepted the joke. Boils.C'mon, birdboil. Most ya'll could do is be'a master'a spookies 'ere. Buuuut reckon that post is taken. By me. Any tails performing motions that may have resembled whippings to demon posteriors may or may not have just occurred in accordance with a certain tatzel ghoul's request. If he was planning to show her up, now was the time. Their professor was giving them the bulk of the exercise at this point: making the dough.
First thing she did was crack the eggs into her supplied bowl.

Wet ingredients were coming together. Levi would add the butter, brown sugar and molasses to her eggs, whipping them about with a balloon whisk. When the professor had urged them to stir vigorously, she undoubtedly hadn't considered how strongly some might. The tatzel enthusiastically kept the motion going, peering up to see where West was at the moment with his mix.

How's yer arm? Her eyes kept on West, sizing him up while continuing to whisk. Had she looked down, she might've noticed the liquid mix had started to foam a bit.
She eventually heard the change in whipping and lifted the whisk, shifting her eyes as if to say no one sees this. Best to get the solids in and pretend she hadn't been over-whisking.

In went the flour and the spices, all measured with the squint of Levi's eyes. Sure, measuring utensils were fine and dandy, but she'd done this before. It would be fine so long as the mix came out at the correct consistency.
Figuring she'd foamed her egg mix a bit, the ghoul aimed to compensate by using a pinch more of the flour. If they were heavier, they wouldn't become too fluffy, right? Right.

Levi folded in the dry ingredients, getting things to a state where she could get her hands into the bowl. Squishing the dough together, she aimed to keep all the bits integrated into her ball. She punched the dough and folded one half over the other, then punched it again. As she did this, the tatzel looked up again to West, checking his status. About done 'ere!
Once she'd gotten her hands on some plastic wrap, the white-eared ghoul took the solid ball of dough in one hand and plopped it onto the wrap, folding in the corners. The dough was sturdy as it was to say the least. If it didn't crack during baking, she could still win this battle. Only time would tell- because she sure as Jack wasn't telling. Patting it on the top to create a disk shape, Levi used her claws to define a facial expression in the dough:
ò __ ó
There, now she'd know which was hers. West would also know not to take her dough, in case he thought of doing something as foolish as that. Hands at her back, folded innocently, Levi took a spot beside the wrath demon again. Think yer still gonna win this? In all seriousness, she hoped he did. Where would the fun be otherwise?

West came down from his victory quickly, watching the ghoul through faintly narrowed eyes while she tried to put him in his place. The most curious thing about her reaction was that he knew she wasn't actually mad, and therefore couldn't fathom why it was such a big deal. He hadn't claimed he had any power over her or anything, and he hadn't even... West sighed and rolled his eyes. He knew talk like this could have been easily avoided had they taken the time to discuss actual issues and beliefs, like he presumed most everyone else did, but he could never find the desire to have such conversations in himself. Right now, for example, he just wanted to be the Master of Spookies. "Yeah? I think you got things a little mixed—"
Her sharp swat shocked a grunt out of him, and West retaliated by grabbing the first couple of ingredients to the left of his bowl and dumping them in, keeping his eyes on Levi all the while. He stirred with even strokes, determined to make the best damn dough there ever was.

Half a minute later, he paused and looked away from the tatzel, focusing on the heaping cup of flour he held poised above his bowl while the other hand stirred. No. He could really only vaguely recall the recipe they had followed when they had made their own spookies, but he was sure it hadn't involved tossing in the flour so soon.
He lowered the measuring cup back onto the tabletop, then dumped the rest of the smooshier ingredients in to join the first few.

In response to her taunt, West picked up the pace again, catching up on his mixing with an unexpected degree of skill.
"My arm's great," he snarled, the smirk that followed erasing any menace that might have been in his tone.

While his batter was coming along nicely... or so he thought... West knew he had to slow down once again to add the flour and s**t.
"Now's yer chance, y'powdery bitches," he muttered, dumping the dry ingredients in at what he hoped was the proper time.

They had reached the home stretch now. West glanced over at Levi's dough, noting how she folded and smacked it into submission. Were they really supposed to do that? He dumped his own bowl out onto the counter and gleefully hit it a handful of times before wrapping it up and flattening it like the Christmas spookie woman had told them to. It wasn't nice and round and it didn't have a fearsome face carved into its top, but West knew the dough was his.
"I don't have to keep my mind on all of that," he said, his nose in the air as Levi rejoined him. "I know mine's gonna be the best, so it's just a waste of my time to worry about losing." He would never be able to match his father's snootiness quotient, but he gave it a decent shot here, even though the attempt was marred by a smirk. He shook his head, dropping his proper act. "I'd rather be winnin' a fight than a bake-off." He fisted his hands then loosened them, crossing his arms before he did it again.

The reaper just grinned at West, completely unaware of his plotting with the creature in the oven, and Levi was on the receiving end of a grin as well. She also gave AJ an encouraging grin and couldn’t help but snort at Piper, she also might have not so subtlety said ‘kiss a**’. Endearingly of course, though. Of course.
Though like a handful of students, once the class kicked into the next phase, Hel didn’t find it so interesting. Kneading dough? Boring…
Neithan had completely missed the point of the wink Alamea had given him. Completely and utterly. All he took notice of was the obvious fact: fire melted snow. "Only if you mean tae melt the snow," he'd instead shrugged to her comment, glancing down to his still damp boots and pants' legs. Any other reason he'd be 'great to be around' for was beyond him.
Once things continued to get underway, Neithan leaned against his oven, listening to the dragon within alternate between munching some of the charcoal candy he'd left in there, and puffing away to keep the oven at the proper temperature. The professor prattled away on how to make the dough, and the balrog slowly followed suit. Dumped in the ingredients--the spices annoyed his nose, though he kept himself from sneezing after actually scrunching his face up a bit to the scents--and... began to mix. Awkwardly.
He'd never held a bowl and whisk. A few extra glances at Jubilee were required to even get the sense he was doing it right. At least he wasn't... spilling stuff all over the place?

She is quite welcomed to attempt 8D I can't promise he'll notice/realize anything is amiss tho orz
Bit by bit, the ingredients mushed and mixed together. What little liquid existed vanished quickly into the dry ingredients. The molasses bound and clung to ingredients and bowl alike. Moving the whisk through the forming dough was easy enough though. Neithan barely felt he was putting any effort into things. Well. Least until the end. When everything really was mixing together. Then he just got lazy--and a tad too cocky--and put actual strength into it.
