Kaleb's ears only perked a bit, but the loud conversation outside the office was too faint for him to understand more than there was such a conversation taking place. He had no desire to go see what needed to be talked about so loudly, he was more interested in looking at the creature files open on the computer screen.

Eventually he just tossed his hands up at Reno and went in search of Tseng. There was no use in talking to the other red head.
He sauntered into Riley's office since the kid wasn't around to stop him and leaned over Kaleb's shoulder. "He tryin' to freak ya out with the monsters?"

Kaleb shook his head and smiled, glad that Riley hadn't tried so he wouldn't have to lie to Reno. He still liked the redhead, even though his partner didn't seem to approve. "I need a bigger challenge, and he let me look at his files so I wouldn't be so afraid of the creatures if I see them."

"Really? Surprised he didn't just toss one at'cha." That's what he would have done but that was because the blond kid needed to get just to things.

"I-I don't think he would want to scare me that badly," Kaleb said, glancing at the pictures in the files. Just being tossed into a room with one of those things without any prior warning would have had him in a near-panic until he figured out how to contain the thing. He was pretty sure Riley liked him enough not to do that kind of thing to him.

"Ya never know." Riley wasn't that bad but still. "You two seem to be getting along perfectly. Already getting domestic and all huh?"

"What do you mean?" Kaleb asked, swiveling around in the chair so he wasn't looking over his shoulder at Reno. Riley's chair was really comfortable, and the swiveling and wheels on the base just made it more fun.

"Stayin over at his house, goin to lunch together, all that jazz." He snickered and leaned against Riley's desk. "Though he's not as bad as me, probably hasn't tried to get kisses out of ya has he?"

Kaleb blushed and shook his head. "H-he doesn't seem to like being kissed much, he gets all flustered..." The little mage bit his lip a bit as he remembered the first time Riley made some excuse about a shower and ran off after being kissed in the gym, and then how he had used it to win their licking game.

"Really now?" He grinned one of his usual 'i'm up to trouble' grins. "Ya know that means ...."
"Reno, get out of my office." He opened the door and glared at the other Turk. Hew didn't want to know what he'd been about to tell Kaleb.

Kaleb shook his head, recognizing the grin but being too curious to actually take it as a warning flag. He kind of hoped Reno would tell him before he left, or maybe he could tell later, since any kind of insight into his partner's behavior would be welcome.

"And of course he comes in to ruin my fun." He chuckled and walked over to Riley. "Ya know it's true. You're just trying to be too nice about it." His hand trailed over Riley's shoulder as he walked out of the office.
He sighed and rubbed his muzzle. Reno couldn't go five minuets without getting himself into trouble.

"What's true?" Kaleb asked once Reno had left. He swiveled around in the chair again, hoping Riley wouldn't kick him out right away.

Kaleb sighed a bit, wondering if he would get a chance to ask Reno about it later. He didn't talk to the Turk so much anymore, especially since Riley didn't seem to want him to hear whatever Reno had to say. "Okay... Did you want your computer back now?"
