Biting his lower lip he watched as Kieran smirked and felt his hand groping him. He playfully rolled his eyes at his taunting words. "Mm,I might have to disagree with you on that one." he teased once more. Leaning up, Jakob stole a quick peck from the males lips. Laying back down, he enjoyed the feeling the males hand brushing against his skin. He was a bit surprised by the sudden change in topic, but he didn't mind it. "Maybe go back to Europe...play tourist in some of the countries I hadn't been to before, like Denmark, Romania, or Austria. Or pay another visit to the ones I haven't seen in a while like Italy, France, Belgium. Maybe even go home. See if anything has changed in Berlin." he replied, naming a few of the places he wouldn't mind going right off the top of his head. "What about you? You got any travel plans in mind?" he asked.

Jakob could understand the need to travel. As much as he loved his two hometowns, being able to easily escape to a neighboring country was always so thrilling. New towns, new sights, he loved it so much. It was something he truly missed while being under the employment of Cornelius. Chicago was nice, it had its charms. But sometimes he felt that he had explored enough of it for now. As they continued their conversation, he watched the male roll his eyes as he grumbled sarcastically. "Oh my poor baby." he said softly. He smiled down at him as they laid a bit longer.
They stayed there quietly a few minutes before interrupted by the sound of Kieran's cell phone. He glanced down at the floor then back at Kieran as he wondered if he was going to pick it up. Together they listened to the ringtone repeat itself a few more times before hanging up. Jakob thought about saying something, but once more the phone began to ring. He sighed a little as Kieran moved off of him as he too was not ready for him to move. But he understood that he should at least see who was trying to get ahold of him. It was probably just Abel. The man was so helpless without Kieran.
Rolling on to his side, Jakob watched as Kieran fished the device out of his pocket before answering it with annoyance. From his viewpoint he couldn't see the name on the phone to know who it was and he couldn't exactly make out who was talking on the other end. Jakob watched curiously as the man soon stood and went about to gather his things. "Who is it?" he mouthed. Instead of an answer, he watched as Kieran seemed to grow furious almost instantly. In he was a little frightened of his expression and flinched at his outburst.
His heart hammered as he sat up slowly. "W-what's going on?" he asked nervously. Once again he was told nothing. He raised an arm in defense as his clothes were tossed across the room. Jakob had no idea what had just happened. Everything was fine a moment ago, he couldn't imagine what was said to him to set him off like this. As Kieran growled towards him, he nodded his head meekly. "Okay...." he said softly. Moving towards the edge of the bed, Jakob slowly dressed. He didn't like Kieran when was like this. It made him feel small and scared, like a child caught with their hand in the cookie jar. Jakob slowly went about pulling on his shirt and shoving his legs into both his boxers and jeans. All the while he ignored the ache of his hips and lower back. Once he was dressed, Jakob went to grab his shoes and brought them back over to the bed. He was too sore to try and stand to put them on. Taking a seat on the edge, he pulled them on one at a time and tied the laces. When he finished he looked to Kieran, still confused and not ready to leave him. "Call me later?" he asked as he on the edge of the bed.

He'd always known something like this might happen, however, he didn't want to think it was true. This could have just been a coincidence. It wasn't as though Abel was Mr. Popular. He probably just pissed off the wrong person and got what was coming to him. Jakob didn't want to think what they both knew was likely the truth. Sliding off the bed, he came towards the male, throwing his arms around him. He knew Kieran was angry but he didn't care. Jakob stood there a moment trying to convince them both that Abel was stronger than this. He noted the way the man didn't hug him back or say anything at all. He didn't know what Kieran was thinking and wished that he might say something. But forcing him might only cause problems.
Pulling back slightly, Jakob stretched up on his tip toes and pressed a tender kiss to the males lips. He wasn't expecting any response, he just wanted to show that he cared. "Go to him." he said, stepping away from Kieran. "He's family...I'll find out if there's any info on Cornelius's side." Double checking he had his own things, Jakob walked around the male and made the door, he paused briefly as he glanced back at him. "Kieran, I love you." he said with a soft smile. Slipping out of the doorway, Jakob stepped out into the late afternoon sun and started to cross the parking lot.

Leaving Kieran like this was the last thing he wanted to do. He knew the man to be angry as well as a few other emotions he was refusing to share with him right this moment. He felt the male relax to his kiss, but was not given one back. Jakob reminded himself that it wasn't necessarily personal and that Kieran wasn't in his right mindset either. After wishing him well, Jakob left on his own and started to walk across the parking lot. He was going to have to find a bus stop or a café to stop in to call in a ride. Walking or even running would take him far too long. As he reached the lots edge, he gave Kieran's car one glance before walking off towards the main roads.
Jakob reached a McDonalds about ten minutes after leaving the hotel. He ordered himself some fries and a cup of water so he could loiter just a little longer. He'd been able to book an Uber to come pick him up from the very location a few minutes before walking up to the establishment. According to his phone, it was still five minutes away. Taking his sad order to a nearby window seat he sat impatiently. Already he wanted to text Kieran, to make sure that he was driving like a sane person, and not doing anything stupid. Instead he ignored that urge and kept his eye out for a silver CRV.
Nearly an hour passed by the time he arrived back home. Nothing outside the house seemed unusual but still he felt as those he were about to walk into a place he was not welcome. After thanking the driver, Jakob walked up the path and fished out his key. The locks were still the same, so that was good...he hoped. As quietly as he could, Jakob pushed the door forward and stepped into the foyer. A football game blared on the television in the nearby living room. Glancing in, he could see three large men hyper-focused on the game. He started towards the stairs but had barely touched the railing before his name was called. "Jakob. The boss said you finally got Durand. Good, but next time don't make him wait this long." said the man in the middle.
Jakob was shocked by his words. Why was Cornelius of all people giving him credit? This did not sit well at all with him. He needed to leave, now. But first he needed to say something. "Uh...yeah. Alright. Sorry it took so long." he said, in what he hoped was a convincing enough tone. The man nodded without looking at him and returned his full attention to the game. He hurried up the stairs as quickly and quietly as he could and moved down the hall to his bedroom. He flipped on the lights and glanced around cautiously. Everything looked normal, so why did he feel like everything was out of place. Either way it didn't matter. He was leaving, now.
Going towards his closet he pulled out a large rolling luggage, backpack and duffle tossing each of them on to the bed. Jakob was in no mood to dilly dally. He couldn't take everything, but at least he could take his essentials. He stuffed nearly all of his clothes, three pairs of shoes, a box of important documents, and his preferred toys into the rolling luggage. In the duffle, he had bullets, his glock, a revolver, crossbow, and five knives. Last but not least was his backpack. He quickly emptied every file from his computer and stored it to the external hardrive. He then unplugged the cord and gently placed it inside along with a laptop he rarely used.
Once he was packed, Jakob pulled out his phone and pulled up Kieran's contact info. "Definitely someone Cornelius sent. Haven't gotten a name yet as the others seem to be under the impression that I did it. Leaving now, ttyl." After hitting send, Jakob grabbed his bags and headed downstairs. Just like before he had ordered a ride to take him away from this house. He spared a glance towards the trio on the couch, groaning at whatever the referee was saying. "Tell Cornelius I'll be in Amsterdam for the next two weeks." he said firmly. Someone nodded and another waved him off. It was easy enough to get out of the house but he didn't consider himself safe by a long shot.

Indeed, it almost too easy to predict that Cornelius would have the job taken care of by someone else. However he still didn't understand why the credit was being given to him. Just who exactly had gotten their hands dirty and what were they were planning. He wanted to know all this and more but he needed to find a place to lay low first. After texting Kieran, he hauled his things out the door and down to the car waiting for him. The driver graciously helped him put his luggage into the trunk and he slid into the back seat.
Jakob gave the house one more glance, feeling as though this would not be his last. Somehow, someway Cornelius would find him. He sat back and strapped himself in as the driver pulled away from the curb. For now, he had chosen to be dropped off at the nearest train station. He looked over a map wondering where he could go and for how long. As he was searching, his phone buzzed in his hands with a text from Kieran. "I'm in a cab and heading for the station. I'll let you know when I find a place." he replied, hitting send before starting another message. "By the way how are you holding up? How is Abel?" he asked, genuinely concerned for them both. After sending the next text, Jakob glanced up to make sure they were still on route. So far so good. He hated feeling like this, but it couldn't be helped.
Twenty minutes passed before his arrival. He thanked the driver and took his things up stairs. Sometime in the car he had found a not too crowded but also not too secluded neighborhood on the west side of Chicago. Purchasing his ticket, Jakob waited behind the yellow line and clung to his things. The platform was busy enough and he didn't see anyone that seemed suspicious. Then again, it was hard to tell when he was feeling so jumpy. The train arrived nearly another twenty-five minutes later and Jakob stepped through the sliding doors.
