Luka crawled over to him. "No you certainly would not. Not now that I have so thoroughly claimed you as mine." She glanced over to check on the rabbit. She leaned in close almost as if she were going to kiss him. "And trust me babe. I can hold out. I can hold out until you sit up and beg like the adorable little puppy you are." She turned her attention back the rabbit. She looked over it carefully trying to determine how much to turn the stick.

Though Connor was a bit ruffled and a little hesitant to challenge his "alpha" he just couldn't let that go.
"Yeah, we'll see..." he mumbled, though his voice carried no authority whatsoever. Who was he kidding? He really was just her puppy, and her property to boot. But things could be worse...

Luks gave the rabbit a turn. "Shouldn't be long now." She turned and then smiled at Connor. "Pouty is so not a good look for you." She sat down next to him and laid her head on his shoulder.

"And I thought girls went wild over that," he joked. "But it's good to know at any rate." Connor slid an arm around Luka's shoulders. "So how are we going to get that whole business with the mayor and you being a military werewolf cleared up?" he asked.

"Let's hope we recruit them before the mayor recruits his entire pack." Connor chuckled. "And that I can get along with them well enough to not drive you to the point of killing the lot of us. I don't think they're too fond of me being a walking paradox - wolf who hunts wolves, you know."

Luka gave a fake huff. "Well maybe if you hadn't just been trying to kill me the first time you ran into my brother, maybe you wouldn't bother him so much."

"That does tend to piss a person's family members off," Connor laughed. "And apparently trying to kill someone's lab partner doesn't go over too well, either." He thought back to the two times he'd tried to kill Katra, the mate that had given him a good thrashing both those times, and the second attempt that resulted in him being there with Luka that very moment. He had both that angry wolf and the woman sitting beside him to thank for the fact that he was still breathing.
"I'm glad... you went with me that day," he murmured. "I know it really wasn't that long ago but... if you hadn't been there, I'd be dead, just like Ma and Da."

Luka removed herself from Connor's shoulder and draped herself across his lap. Her hand reached up to caress his face. "I would never let anything happen to you. But don't you get to sentimental on me. I always feel guilty after pity and sympathy." She gave a smile that indicated emotions softer than her words. "And that is the smell of almost undercooked rabbit." She got up and pulled the rabbit out of the fire.

Connor smiled in spite of it all and watched Luka take the rabbit off the fire. She really was amazing. She really was amazing. It was such a shock, really, that he'd been so blessed. She was strong, smart, fun, amazing in bed, and even had a sweet side. He shook his head to himself as she approached with breakfast.
"Is there anything you can't do?"

Yakov melted just a little under the kiss. "I suppose we should get our lazy asses out of bed at some point." Despite his words, he clung tighter to Jeff.
