Tamahome kissed her forehead gently, then rubbed her back softly, not letting up on how close he was holding her. "Am I even worthy of you? I've been alone... a drifter for so long... I fope I don't turn out to be unworthy. I hope you'll be happy with me."

Was it possible to be surrounded by a crowd of people yet feeling more alone than you ever felt in your entire life? Being in a family where everyone was rarely in the house, causing herself to also stay out of the house often to avoid being alone, Ayame couldn't match that emotion to what she felt her first day in Konan. It wasn't even about the fact that she wasn't in her world anymore, for she apparently had warriors, guardians, looking after her.
But it was those same guardians that made her feel the isolation that gripped at her heart.
It seemed that they were all becoming friends and lovers, brought together by their destiny to protect her, the Priestess of Suzaku. Becoming close to everyone but her...it felt like she was just a part of their job that they had to carry out, and so treated her as such. Although she realized she probably wasn't helping in the bonding process, Ayame still felt that way very deeply.
Turning in her sleep, blue-gray eyes snapped open as her ears picked up on something dropping to the ground with a loud thump. Groaning at the fact that she woke herself up, Ayame tiredly propped herself up on one elbow to glance over the side of the bed and at the object that had fallen to the floor. If she was feeling sleepy a second ago, that all disappeared as what she saw was her schoolbag lying on the floor. Jumping out of bed, she crouched by the bag, carefully reaching a hand out to touch it as if afraid she was dreaming or that it would evaporate at her touch.
To her relief, her bag was very much real, as well as the few school books and other things that was stored inside. As her fingers grazed upon a set of seven tickets, Ayame's happy expression changed into one of bittersweetness. In her hands were seven tickets to the new amusement park that had opened in the area, and she had planned on inviting her four best friends and Tatsuko's older brother and friend. She had always thought that Ryuichi and Toushiro were a little cute.
Tears began to well up in her eyes at the memory of her life in her world. She was no longer there, together with her friends. Before she could become any more depressed, though, her stomach growled loudly, still furious with her for eating so little at dinner yesterday. Wiping her eyes, she let out a sigh as she returned the tickets to her bag and stood up on her feet. She had to be happy, so she wouldn't dampen the other's spirits while they were on their journey for...whatever it was that the Priestess was supposed to do.
Placing her bag gently upon the bed, Ayame walked to the door and stepped out, heading towards the direction that she believed the mess hall was from earlier.

Drive grins and says "Nuriko huh well i just hope your not like the last Nuriko". After saying that he cranes his head back and looks at the door
"I think someone is coming"he comments
(sorry for the sparcity of my posts i work alot so i dont get a lot of time for gaia)

Lian frowned slightly.
"I assure you, Drive-san, I do not cross-dress," she said levelly. "Though Suzaku was very kind as to reincarnate the original Nuriko as a woman." She looked up at the sound of someone coming. When she saw who it was she smiled. "Good morning, Ayame. Would you like some breakfast?"

As Ayame walked down the hallway, voices carried down towards her as she neared the soruce of the noise. Slowing down as they noticed her and looked her way, she made herself smile and bowed to the two of them when she was close enough. "Ohayou gozaimasu, Lian-san, Drive-san," Ayame replied, standing up straight soon after she had greeted them.
"I hope I didn't interrupt anything. But food sounds really great-- I don't think I ate very much yesterday..." she trailed off before smiling brightly again, resuming her walk towards the mess hall. "Though you shouldn't worry about me. You guys have enough to deal with, ne, with our trip coming up? I'd ask you two to join me for breakfast, but I suppose you guys are quite busy, aren't you...? I won't take up any more of your time."

"No, no, not at all," Lian smiled brightly and joined Ayame. "I've got everything ready; I've been trying to find something to do anyways."

Drive stands and bows deaply before Ayame." I belive that I will worry about you anyways, you look...." Drive stops for a moment trying to think of a good way to put into words the sadness that seemed to wrap around her. " Tired " He finaly says.
Drive turns to back to the dining table and pulls out a chair. "here have a seat"

Riku smiled handsomely at the priestess, "It is nice to finally meet you Ayame. I am Riku, the prince of Suzaku, and also a prince of Konan. We were talking about leaving very soon, so it is good to see you well. Now... where did Tasuki and Tamahome run off too?"
Chiriko grinned, "Probably off smooching somewhere... you can tell by the looks they give eachother. They totally have the hots of one another." He then looked over to Ayame, "I'm Chiriko, I'm dashing, debonair and single." He winked and then looked to Drive and Lian, "So, maybe we should pack up the horses, so we can leave before it starts to get hot."

"That would be an excellent idea." Lian smiled at both Riku and Chiriko. "It would do no one good to get heatstroke while journeying." There was a slightly wry smile on her face. "Now . . . who wants to go tell Tamahome and Tasuki?"

Raising a hand to her face as if reaching for the bags under her eyes that she couldn't see, Ayame blushed slightly at Drive's observance. As more people came to greet her as if she was some beacon that everyone could see and was drawn to, Ayame bowed her head as Riku and Chikiro introduced themselves, wondering what a 'prince of Suzaku' was and giggling at Chiriko's wink.
As three of them decided who would do what concerning the horses and Tamahome and Tasuki, Ayame joined Drive at the table, smiling up at him as he brought her a plate of food. "Thank you very much, Drive," she said, her smile fading slightly at his previous words. "Ano...Drive-san...is it really...that obvious?" Ayame asked nervously. "I don't want to...worry anyone on our journey. Everyone's so worried about their own lives, I don't want to make it worse. Do you...have any ideas?"

Smiling at Tamahome, Mika nodded, kissing him again softly. "Hmmm... I think you are more than worthy. I should be the one worrying if I am worthy of you." Honestly, she couldn't see how he could possibly like her, considering her past... but... he seemed to look beyond that. It made her exceptionally happy to just be normal. "And, I am happy with you. I don't see that ever changing." She enjoyed staying in her arms, but she had completely forgotten that she was supposed to check on the Priestess. She hadn't even noticed the girl walk by. "Mmmm... as much as I would love to stay like this, I think we should probably head back to the others. We still have to get everything ready for heading towards the capital today."

Drive looks over at Ayame a small smile tugging at the conners of his mouth. "Ayame I belive that I can say that everyone here came of there own accord, All of us come from backgrounds that give us strength. If they chose to worry about you it means that they care about you, My best advice to you would be .....let them. They are strong and they want to lend you that strength, all you can realy do is use it well .....that and sleep once in a while."Drive lets out a small chuckle as he stops talking.

Running through all the contents in her bag one more time, she nodded in satisfaction and drew the strings tight. Slinging it over her shoulder she knocked on Riku's door.
"Riku? Are you in there?" she asked.

"Yeah, you are right about that." He didn't want to let her go, but he did. "We do need to get there, I'm sure the Emperor is both worried about Riku-sama, and would be interested in talking to Ayame." He took her hand and gently kissed it, "After you my lady."
