Take Me - London After Midnight
My god, the guys in this band are gorgeous. heart
You'll never understand, The meaning in the end, We're standing at the gate, You'll meet the darker fate...
Your purity and rage, Your passion and your hate, You promised more than bliss, With your God and with your kiss...
I'm on my knees, I beg your mercy, My soul is my loss, I'm well hung from your cross, Take me, Take me in your arms my love and rape me, Don't hide behind your rage I know you love me, And always will, You're my possession, Of that my love there really is no question, Don't hide behind your rage I know you love me, And always will...
My better half it's true has seen the darker side of you, Innocence stripped away, At least I've the brighter fate...
Take me, Rape me, I know you love me, And always will...
Take me, Rape me, I know you love me, And always will, Take me.

Jason Mraz- Geek in the Pink
[Rapper] Yo, brother A to Z [Mraz] Yo, whassup B? [Rapper] Yo, what time is it? [Mraz] Haha it's laundry day
Well, let the geek in the pink take a stab at it If you like the way I'm thinkin' baby wink at it I may be skinny at times but I'm fat fulla rhymes Pass me the mic and I'm a grab at it Well, isn't it delicious, crazy way that I'm kissin' 'Cause baby listen to this, don't wanna miss it while it's hittin' Sometimes you gotta fit in to get in But don't ever quit cause soon I'm gonna let you in but see
I don't care what she might think about me You can vibe without me if you want I could be the one to take her home Baby we could rock the night alone If we never get down it wouldn't be a let down But sugar don't forget what you already know I could be the one to turn you out We could be the talk across the town Don't judge me by the color, confuse it for another You might regret what you let slip away
Like the geek in the pink Like the geek in the pink, pink, pink The geek in the pink, yeah
Well this relationship fodder don't mean to bother nobody But Cupid's automatic musta fired multiple shots at her Because she fall in love too often that's what the matter At least I talk about it keep a pattern of flattery and She was starin' through the doorframe Eyeing me down like already a bad boyfriend Well she can get her toys outta the drawer then Cause I ain't comin' home I don't need that attention, see
I don't care what she might think about me You'll get by without me if she wants I could be the one to take her home Baby we could rock the night alone If we never get down it wouldn't be the let down But sugar don't forget what you already know I could be the one to turn you out We could be the talk across the town Don't judge it by the color, confuse it for another You might regret what you let slip away
Hey baby look at me go From zero to hero You better take it from a geek like me I can save you from unoriginal dum-dums Who wouldn't care if you com...plete him or not
So what I've got a short attention span A coke in my hand Because I'd rather have the afternoon, relax and understand My hip hop and flip-flops it don't stop with the light rock A shot to mock you kinda puts me in the tight spot The hype is nothing more than hoo-ha so I'm Developing a language and I'm callin' it my own So take a peek into the speaker and you'll see what I mean That on the other side the grass is greener
I don't care what she might think about me You'll get by without me if you want I could be the one to take you/her home Baby we could rock the night alone If we never get down it wouldn't be the let down But sugar don't forget what you already know I could be the one to turn you out/on We could be the talk across the town Don't judge it by the color, confuse it for another You might regret what you let slip away
Like the geek in the pink Well, I'm the geek in the pink, yo pink pink Geek is the color for fall, I'm the geek in the pink yeah So I'm the geek yo, in the pink yo. Hahah, y'all geek is the new color for fall I'm the geek in the pink

Kidney Thieves - Crazy
Crazy, I'm crazy for feeling so lonely. I'm crazy, crazy for feeling so blue. I knew, you'd love me as long as you wanted, and someday, you'd leave me for somebody new.
aaaahhhhhhhh aaaaaaahhhhhhhh
WORRY?!? Why do I let myself worry?!? And I'm wondering, what in the world should I do?ooohhhhh aaaahhhhh
I'm crazy for thinkin that my love could hold you...And I'm crazy for tryin and crazy for cryin, and I'm crazy for lovin you
I'm crazy for tryin and crazy for cryin and I'm crazy for lovin you
I'm crazy for tryin and crazy for cryin and I'm crazy for lovin you

God, sorry for necro'ing this thread but this song is so great. The lyrics make me want to cry.
John Mayer - Stop This Train
No, I'm not color blind - I know the world is black and white Try to keep an open mind, but I just can't sleep on this tonight
Stop this train I want to get off and go home again I can't take this speed it's moving in I know I can't But honestly, will someone stop this train
Don't know how else to say it, Don't want to see my parents go One generation's length away From fighting life out on my own
Stop this train I want to get off and go home again I can't take this speed it's moving in I know I can't But honestly, will someone stop this train?
So scared of getting older, I'm only good at being young So I play the numbers game to find a way to say that life has just begun
Had a talk with my old man Said help me understand He said, "Turn 68, you'll renegotiate Don't stop this train Don't for a minute change the place you're in Don't think I couldn't ever understand I tried my hand John, honestly we'll never stop this train"
Once in a while when it's good, it'll feel like it should And they're all still around, and you're still safe and sound
And you don't miss a thing, 'Til you cry when you're driving away in the dark, singing,
"Stop this train I wanna get off and go home again I can't take this speed it's moving in I know I can't Cause now I see I'll never stop this train."

Feeling vaguely nostalgic, but for what I don't know. So I give you..
Flogging Molly "Withing A Mile of Home" Dust falls on the empty halls of my old school Where the memories fade like the casualty, a forgotten fool Now wide-eyed has become the blind of spoken rule As equal only deep is now the word The lesson's not the answer you once heard
"Don't turn your back on me, don't ever let me down" She said, "I picked you up each time before you hit the ground Your selfish face is now erased when someone mentions you And the darkness that you left is overstepped aside Will disappear in clouds, the sun arrives Within a mile of home, within a mile of home"
Oh worry, oh my worry has it been that long? The whistle keeps on blowing but the chills all gone His empty frame cannot explain, there's nothing left inside So sing to me a song from yesterday When laughter filled the tears that we now make
"Don't turn your back on me, don't ever let me down" She said, "I picked you up each time before you hit the ground Your selfish face is now erased when someone mentions you If only you had seen what I now see And turned the corner where you would of been Within a mile of home, within a mile of home"
So sing to me, sing me a song, a song from yesterday And when the laughter turned these tears before the promises, then they'll slip away Don't turn your back on me, dont't turn your back on me, don't ever let me down Don't turn your back on me, dont't turn your back on me, don't ever let me down We are within a mile, we are within a mile, within a mile of home We are within a mile, we are within a mile, within a mile of home We are within a mile, we are within a mile, within a mile of home

The All-American Rejects
Change Your Mind ---------------------
Don't solve the problem, when danger is better. Far away where you stock them In cages that tether
And all the bridges you've burned, leave you trapped off at all sides. And now the tables do turn, and it's all gone, what's left for you.
And when the sky is falling, don't look outside the window. Step back and hear I'm calling. Give up, don't take the fast road. It's just your doubt that binds you. Just drop those thoughts behind you now. Change your mind. You let go too soon.
Sit down, you're sinking, there's no one to watch you. Skip town, you're thinking, there's no one to stop you.
Let go too soon.
Don't run away, Stop feeling fine. It's better than your worst, your worst day. No words to say, I'll give you mine, and pocket all the hurt, and just stay. Don't run away. It's better than your worst, your worst day.
And when the sky is falling, don't look outside the window. Step back and hear I'm calling. Give up, don't take the fast road.
And when the sky is falling, don't look outside the window. Step back and hear I'm calling. Give up, don't take the fast road. It's just your doubt that binds you. Just drop those thoughts behind you now. Change your mind. Let go too soon.
Don't run away. I'll change your mind. Let go too soon. [x3]
Don't run away. I'll change your mind.

Killing Me Softly - The Fugees
Strumming my pain with his fingers Singing my life with his words Killing me softly with his song Killing me softly... with his song Telling my whole life with his words Killing me softly... with his song
Hi, yo yea yea. now this is wyclef refugee el boogie up in here (doo dooo doo doo) one time one time one time hey yo L you know the lyrics!
I heard he sang a good song, I heard he had a style And so I came to see him, and listen for a while And there he was, this young boy, a stranger to my eyes
Strumming my pain with his fingers Singing my life with his words Killing me softly with his song Killing me softly... with his song Telling my whole life with his words Killing me softly... with his song
I felt all flushed with fever, embarrassed by the crowd I felt he found my letters, and read each one aloud I prayed that he would finish, but he just kept right on
Strumming my pain with his fingers Singing my life with his words Killing me softly with his song Killing me softly... with his song Telling my whole life with his words Killing me softly... with his song
Strumming my pain with his fingers (yes he was) Singing my life with his words Killing me softly with his song Killing me softly... with his song Telling my whole life with his words Killing me softly... with his song strummin my pain.

The Weakerthans - The Reasons
How I don't know how to sing. I can barely play this thing. But you never seem to mind, and you tell me to ******** off when I need somebody to. How you make me laugh so hard. How whole years refuse to stay where we told them to, bad dog, locked up whining in a word or a misplaced souvenir. How the past chews on your shoes, and these memories lick my ear. How we waste our precious time marching in the picket lines that surround those striking hearts. How the time is never now, and we know who we should love, but we're never certain how. I know you might roll your eyes at this, but I'm so glad that you exist.

Harry Chapin - Cat's In The Cradle
A child arrived just the other day, He came to the world in the usual way. But there were planes to catch, and bills to pay. He learned to walk while I was away. And he was talking 'fore I knew it, and as he grew, He'd say, "I'm gonna be like you, dad. You know I'm gonna be like you."
And the cat's in the cradle and the silver spoon, Little boy blue and the man on the moon. "When you coming home, dad?" "I don't know when, But we'll get together then. You know we'll have a good time then."
My son turned ten just the other day. He said, "Thanks for the ball, dad, come on let's play. Can you teach me to throw?" I said, "Not today, I got a lot to do." He said, "That's ok." And he walked away, but his smile never dimmed, Said, "I'm gonna be like him, yeah. You know I'm gonna be like him."
And the cat's in the cradle and the silver spoon, Little boy blue and the man on the moon. "When you coming home, dad?" "I don't know when, But we'll get together then. You know we'll have a good time then."
Well, he came from college just the other day, So much like a man I just had to say, "Son, I'm proud of you. Can you sit for a while?" He shook his head, and he said with a smile, "What I'd really like, dad, is to borrow the car keys. See you later--Can I have them please?"
And the cat's in the cradle and the silver spoon, Little boy blue and the man on the moon. "When you coming home, son?" "I don't know when, But we'll get together then, dad. You know we'll have a good time then."
I've long since retired and my son's moved away. I called him up just the other day. I said, "I'd like to see you if you don't mind." He said, "I'd love to, dad, if I could find the time. You see, my new job's a hassle, and the kids have the flu, But it's sure nice talking to you, dad. It's been sure nice talking to you." And as I hung up the phone, it occurred to me, He'd grown up just like me. My boy was just like me.
And the cat's in the cradle and the silver spoon, Little boy blue and the man on the moon. "When you coming home, son?" "I don't know when, But we'll get together then, dad. We're gonna have a good time then.
Such a sad song ;3;

Linkin Park What I've Done
In this farewell, There’s no blood, There’s no alibi. ‘Cause I’ve drawn regret, From the truth, Of a thousand lies.
So let mercy come, And wash away…
What I’ve Done. I’ll face myself, To cross out what I’ve become. Erase myself, And let go of what I’ve done.
Put to rest, What you thought of me. While I clean this slate, With the hands, Of uncertainty.
So let mercy come, And wash away…
What I’ve Done. I’ll face myself, To cross out what I’ve become. Erase myself, And let go of what I’ve done.
For What I’ve Done
I'll start again, And whatever pain may come. Today this ends, I’m forgiving what I’ve done.
I’ll face myself, To cross out what I’ve become. Erase myself, And let go of what I’ve done. What I’ve done.
Forgiving What I’ve Done.

Daphne loves Derby - "Hopeless Love"
Two hundred miles away from home. Two hundred miles beneath this lake is where my heart belongs. But you don't care at all You wouldn't even smile if I were screaming as the water filled my lungs, oh my lungs.
You demand to be chased for your love. My desperate heart is far too weak to run for you this long. But you don't care at all. There's nothing I can do to draw you close to me.
Can you take this silence like a pill so I can breathe again? I've been trying to ignore the best part of you. But I'm still hoping that I'll be with you somehow, somehow.
Please be home tonight. I'll die if I don't get a chance to make this just right. I'm sorry but I can't forget about the way I feel, Every time you're here.
What would it take for me to be with you? I swear I'd rip my heart out if you said you'd be impressed, please be impressed. I'd go so far to please you but I bet you wouldn't care at all, oh at all.
Hopeless love please leave me. This broken heart is far too weak to run for you this long. Why don't you care at all? I'm dying for a place in your heart.
Hopeless love, why did you carve your home in me? This broken heart is too weak to hold your weight. And now I regret the day we met. And help me forget your name.

FROU FROU
"Hear Me Out"
I join the queue on your answerphone And all i am - is holding breath Just pick up i know you're there Can't you hear - i'm not myself
Oh go ahead and lie to me You could say anything Small talk will be - just fine Your voice is everything We owe it to love And it all depends on you
So listen up - this sun hasn't set I refuse to believe that it's only me feeling Just hear me out - i'm not over you yet It's love on the line can you handle it
So how do i do normal The smile i fake - the permanent wave of Cue cards and fix it kits Can't you tell - i'm not myself
I'm a slow motion accident Lost in coffee rings - and fingerprints I don't - wanna feel - anything But i do And it all comes back to you
So listen up - this sun hasn't set (I refuse to believe that it's only me feeling) Just hear me out - i'm not over you yet (It's love on the line can you handle it?)
So listen up Look at me straight Just hear me out Don't make me wait I'm not myself I can't take this Love's on the line Is that your final answer
I join the queue on your answerphone And all i am - is holding breath Just pick up i know you're there......
So listen up - this sun hasn't set (I refuse to believe that it's only me feeling) Just hear me out - i'm not over you yet (It's love on the line can you handle it?)
But it's far too late to say this. I feel like I've lost everything. This is a terrible way...

JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE
"What Goes Around... / ...Comes Around"
Hey girl, is he everything you wanted in a man? You know I gave you the world You had me in the palm of your hand So why your love went away I just can't seem to understand Thought it was me and you babe Me and you until the end But I guess I was wrong
Don't want to think about it Don't want to talk about it I'm just so sick about it Can't believe it's ending this way Just so confused about it Feeling the blues about it I just can't do without ya Tell me is this fair?
Is this the way it's really going down? Is this how we say goodbye? Should've known better when you came around That you were gonna make me cry It's breaking my heart to watch you run around 'Cause I know that you're living a lie That's okay baby 'cause in time you will find...
What goes around, goes around, goes around Comes all the way back around What goes around, goes around, goes around Comes all the way back around What goes around, goes around, goes around Comes all the way back around What goes around, goes around, goes around Comes all the way back around
Now girl, I remember everything that you claimed You said that you were moving on now And maybe I should do the same Funny thing about that is I was ready to give you my name Thought it was me and you, babe And now, it's all just a shame And I guess I was wrong
Don't want to think about it Don't want to talk about it I'm just so sick about it Can't believe it's ending this way Just so confused about it Feeling the blues about it I just can't do without ya Can you tell me is this fair?
Is this the way it's really going down? Is this how we say goodbye? Should've known better when you came around (should've known better that you were gonna make me cry) That you were going to make me cry Now it's breaking my heart to watch you run around 'Cause I know that you're living a lie That's okay baby 'cause in time you will find
What goes around, goes around, goes around Comes all the way back around What goes around, goes around, goes around Comes all the way back around What goes around, goes around, goes around Comes all the way back around What goes around, goes around, goes around Comes all the way back around
What goes around comes around Yeah What goes around comes around You should know that What goes around comes around Yeah What goes around comes around You should know that
Don't want to think about it (no) Don't want to talk about it I'm just so sick about it Can't believe it's ending this way Just so confused about it Feeling the blues about it (yeah) I just can't do without ya Tell me is this fair?
Is this the way it's really going down? Is this how we say goodbye? Should've known better when you came around (should've known better that you were gonna make me cry) That you were going to make me cry Now it's breaking my heart to watch you run around 'Cause I know that you're living a lie But that's okay baby 'cause in time you will find
What goes around, goes around, goes around Comes all the way back around What goes around, goes around, goes around Comes all the way back around What goes around, goes around, goes around Comes all the way back around What goes around, goes around, goes around Comes all the way back around
[Comes Around interlude:]
Let me paint this picture for you, baby
You spend your nights alone And he never comes home And every time you call him All you get's a busy tone I heard you found out That he's doing to you What you did to me Ain't that the way it goes
When you cheated girl My heart bleeded girl So it goes without saying that you left me feeling hurt Just a classic case A scenario Tale as old as time Girl you got what you deserved
And now you want somebody To cure the lonely nights You wish you had somebody That could come and make it right
But girl I ain't somebody with a lot of sympathy You'll see
(What goes around comes back around) I thought I told ya, hey (What goes around comes back around) I thought I told ya, hey (What goes around comes back around) I thought I told ya, hey (What goes around comes back around) I thought I told ya, hey
[laughs] See? You should've listened to me, baby Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah Because (What goes around comes back around) [laughs]

barenaked ladies - falling for the first time
i'm so cool, too bad i'm a loser i'm so smart, too bad i can't get anything figured out i'm so brave, too bad i'm a baby i'm so fly that's probably why it feels just like i'm falling for the first time
i'm so green, it's really amazing i'm so clean, too bad i can't get all the dirt off of me i'm so sane, it's driving me crazy it's so strange, i can't believe it feels just like i'm falling for the first time
anyone perfect must be lying anything easy has its cost anyone plain can be lovely anyone loved can be lost what if i lost my direction what if i lost my sense of time what if i nursed this infection maybe the worst is behind
it feels just like i'm falling for the first time it feels just like i'm falling for the first time
i'm so chill, no wonder it's freezing i'm so still, i just can't keep my fingers out of anything i'm so thrilled to finally be failing i'm so done -- turn me over, because it feels just like i'm falling for the first time
anything plain can be lovely anything loved can be lost maybe i lost my direction what if our love is the cost?
anyone perfect must be lying anything easy has its cost anyone plain can be lovely anyone loved can be lost what if i lost my direction what if i lost my sense of time what if i nursed this infection maybe the worst is behind
... maybe the worst is behind
