WellzY ZOMG, my German seminars are so confusing. Not because they're in German, because they're not, but because of the material we look at. We're looking at philosophy, and I read the material, and I"m just like "... OK, and the point is?" Like Schiller. I mean, WHAT THE ********?! That took a good hour to explain, and even then still wasn't very clear. neutral And clearly, I love the neutral emoticon. I've just started post-VCE French. I can't believe what a step up it is. gonk It's entiiiirely in French. Maybe I should have expected it, but I just... didn't. xp And half the class has been on long term exchange. eek It's filled with private school kids. My first assessment is due Monday. sweatdrop

My first assessment is due Monday. sweatdrop Frightening isn't it? xd rofl You should have chose beginner French instead, because if you're doing Post-VCE French they expect you to speak, read and write it fluently without the need for English translation. At least you don't have to worry so much about pronunciation. Post-VCE Chinese is even worse. I stupidly tried to select it as a diploma, but then I backed out when I realized how hard it was. There's pretty much no pinyin at all, which makes reading Chinese incredibly difficult.

That's why i hessitated about continuing my German and instead I'm doing SPanish..properly razz . I gotta say learning a language instead of learing your first one at uni is a big help.

Elaborate...hmm.. well I just feel a little disconnected from the world, it's as though I'm a spectator on my own life, my conciousness exists in my own body but I seem to be unable to control it. It's as though my mind is arbitrary to my thoughts. It's a really strange sensation. I think I may just need a change of surroundings, I'm not sure.

Well, obviously an introductory course in a language would be much easier for any uni student than an intermediate or advanced course in a language. Studying a post-vce language course that assumes you have a thorough grounding in the language is much harder than doing a native language course in high school, obviously because you have do more than know how to speak, read and write properly; they expect you to know everything about the language's culture and history.

Well, the disconnect thing. Generally, I just distract myself ^_^

Yeah I was gonna say too, Germany just continued the legacy. And we're not doing Marx or Frued this semester, next semester I think we are. For now it's Goethe, Schiller, Lessings, Kant and I think later some Mann and Jung. Also, I hated sitting in the first year German classes, hearing students say things like "Oh, well, when I was in Germany, a lot of people woudl say this and this. And life there was like this and this. And I made friends with these and them, and those and that, and OMG ******** YOU I WANT YOUR LIFE TOO NOW SHUT UP!" Yeah.
