Didn't some disney show use a polysics song as a theme? That partially may account for greater exposure to the audience here. But it's really a ******** disappointment that most people get their panties moist for acts like Psycho le cemu. Never I have supported an artists use of illegal drugs more than in that band. Daishi getting caught? WIN GET.

Haruko.the.Assassin AznMin10n I think that in America, Jrock is not that big yet: but it is definately growing. But it is not spreading! >. xd hee hee. there IS this one high school here in NYC where a megaload of the student population is into jrock ^^ at least my friend told me that. 3nodding nah but seriously, jrock needs to spread more. when people ask what im listenign to and i tell em japanese rock they give me funny looks.... these people need to be schooled. Which high school? I went to Stuy and we had about 7 anime clubs, but the only people who were into Jrock were the ones in the club I started... and trust me, it really wasn`t that much.

kashirakashira Japanese music is pretty well known with like, the scene kids and underground music scene ppl. A lot of those type of people know of Guitar Wolf, Pizzicato Five, Boardoms (sp..), Ruins, Merzbow, Polysics....You're right, in the niche market for Japanese music, these bands are BIG. Especially the noise/experimental segment, where Merzbow is like a staple and synonymous ( gonk ) with the noise genre. P5 is big within the lounge (dunno the genre) segment and Boredoms... so many side projects and such a big following that they're REALLY popular. Of course, within the (small) niche in the US, that is. sweatdrop

Kaidan EggShen Only s**t music from Japan is spreading to the U.S. When I say I like J-rock I don't want some f** thinking I like PLC, or X Japan. The only good ones that have recieved some American attention are noodles, polysics and guitar wolf. And Quruli. And Ex-Girl. And Electric Eel Shock. And My Way My Love. ect. Another small tour soon I hope. No new news on a CD though. Makes me wonder if they are going to stay here or go back? Their BBS is always active though so it's weird. No updates-- yet people still go to the site. I got a hold of a Kero Keychain at the JRock stand at MetroCON. [Their little mascot.] I flipped off the walls. I don't care if I shelled out 10 bucks for it.

Yes. At SXSW. kashirakashira They sure did. I think when Christopher was the drummer? Maybe? I'm not sure about that, really...but I think seeing them play there is what made him want to join. He talks about it on the dvd.
