"Who is that girl?!" Coleman asked. "You know who she is, don't you?"

Shay bit her lip, nervous. The dark faerie, with the dark aura--she could sense auras if she tried hard enough, she was only half faerie, after all--was staring at her. Was it "Kordeth" that they called her? Yes, Kordeth. She had the power to see souls, just like Shay could see auras. How strange. My physical body's company is made up of almost completely faeries. Except for...Coleman. The name brought something into her mind. A name. A face. A memory. Her father's best friend, another drunken man...a man who hated her mother and hated Mara...one who had once brought over a little boy, older than Shay but still very young, and very human... Her eyes shot wide open. "COLEMAN!" she shrieked. "Oh my gods! It's Coleman! He's the...the..." she whispered so that she could barely hear herself. But she knew Coleman would hear, even in the other room. "He's the Child of the Sun. Blessed by the gods...just like Mara said..." Her soul collapsed, and fell into her body once more, while she slept peacefully, the coma broken.
(To understand what "Child of the Sun" means, see page 1, my first post!)

Alice walked bakc over to Shay, checking on her while humming a haunting tune. "Will she be okay, Kordeth?" Alice asked sitting down on the floor beside the couch.

Annabella starred. "She was my best friend." She said it like it had happened long ago.

Shay still felt like she was asleep. When her eyelashes fluttered as she awoke, she still felt as though in a dream. Her first thought was, I can't be dreaming. I don't know this place. She was lying on a couch, and a young girl was sitting next to the couch with a concerned look on her face. She recognized this girl. This girl had been sitting next to her during her out-of-body experience. And the dark one--Kordeth, was it?--was staring intently at her. "What happened?" she asked groggily, and noticed that Annabella and Coleman were still talking privately. "I wonder what they're talking about," she muttered to herself. "What happened?" she asked again. "How long was I unconscious?"

Alice turned her head to see the now-awake Shay. "Your fine, Your safe here. You weren't out long just about an hour. Oh i'm sorry I'm Alice and you are?" Alice asked the dazed girl. " Coleman!, Annabella! Get in here, Shes awake!" Alice called over her shoulder.

Kordeth glared at Coleman as he left, gritting her teeth, then turned to the fairy on the couch. When the fairy woke with a start, Kordeth jumped. She was saying something about Child of the Sun...
Kordeth froze. Child of the Sun. No, it couldn't be. He couldn't be the child of the sun. He was human for Christ's sake! Humans are merely wolves in sheep's skin. They're deceitful, violent, vengeful...
Kordeth glared at the human girl that lay on a separate couch, unconscious. She was a prime example of the human race. Even though Coleman appeared friendly on the outside, Kordeth knew he was just like that girl on the inside. All humans were. How could he be the Child of the Sun?!
As soon as the fairy woke up again, Kordeth grabbed the young fairy by the collar of her shirt. "What do you mean Child of the Sun? He can't be one!" she hissed.
Callyn grabbed her sister's arm, pulling her away. Despite the venomous look Kordeth gave Callyn, the emerald-haired fairy smiled.
"You've only been out for about thirty minutes, I think. I just walked in, so I wouldn't really know. By the way, what's your name?" Callyn asked the fairy, despite how Kordeth glared down on her with folded arms.

She was her best friend, but why didn't she say anything about the girl? Coleman thought to himself before he was interrupted by Alice's announcement. He burst into the room where all the fairies hovered around Shay. "She's awake?!" Coleman screamed. He looked at Shay, her eyes were open and there wasn't a scratch on her which relieved Coleman to see that she was okay. ((hey kai, what happened to that little girl character from earlier?))

"I'm Shay," she stammered to the group of mostly-faeries...except for Coleman. She couldn't take her eyes off of him, now that she knew his destiny. He's the Child of the Sun, she thought to herself, dazed. Kordeth knew--she'd been listening, and from the dark fire in her eyes, she wasn't happy about it, seeing as she'd grabbed Shay by her throat--but everyone else seemed blissfully unaware. "I'm awake, yes," she said, putting on an amused facade while looking into Coleman's eyes. They seemed innocent, unaware of their treacherous, difficult fate. The path those eyes would behold would be dangerous. How could she tell him? "Thirty minutes," she repeated to herself, looking at Callyn, who was smiling at her almost hysterically. Ick. Not to be judgmental or anything, but Shay wasn't a rainbows-and-unicorns type, and she'd never been one to be happy in the company of such a person. And this Callyn seemed like one. (No offense to Callyn herself, of course, she seemed like a nice person.) "I was out for thirty minutes." She straightened up, a smile playing on her lips. "Well, then, perhaps there's still some time. Annabella, I suppose you remember me?" She nodded to Annabella. "Perhaps you can still access my mind. And figure out who's controlling me." She flashed a teasing smile. "It would be greatly appreciated."

ALice reached over and slowly removed kordeth's hand from Shay's neck. "I'm sorry about Kordeth I don't know her well myself. So, Where did you com from?" Alice asked Shay as she sat down beside her.

Annabella stood near Coleman. "I- I cant. I have used so much magic today. I'm to weak...." She frowned at herself.

Shay understood. "That's fine, Annabella. It doesn't really matter. It doesn't hurt me or anything to have them probe me." She faced Coleman. "And now...for you..." a smirk played on her lips. "Perhaps you and I could have a private chat? Oh, and everyone else--no listening. Private means 'private'." She flashed a grin, and, standing up, went into the room that Annabella and Coleman had just been talking into a moment ago. "How can I break it to him?" she whispered to herself, her happy-go-lucky facade gone. She waited for him to approach, and wondered how she could tell him his destiny.

Coleman walked beside her, looking outside the room one more time to make sure no one followed. He locked the door behind him and sat down on something sturdy. "What did you want?" Coleman asked, his eyes not leaving Shay.

"I wanted to ask a few questions, make sure I'm right about a hunch of mine that includes you. You were in the Human Army. This I know for sure. There are telltale signs all around you. You look very neat, very prepared...signs of the army that's changed your life, your style. I know this for sure. And I can guess that you've seen me before, and I've seen you before. Because I have. When we were very, very small." Shay took a deep breath. "Your parents knew my father, who was human. I'm only a halfling. Do you remember?"
