Whether it was that he rolled too late, or the fact rolling wasn't a great defense against something you simply had to look at, but the fox's attempt would fail miserably. The Flash would burn and sting the Fire-Types, causing his vision to go spottier then before. His aim hadn't been great before, and now it would be even worse!
">You. Miss. Now! Ha. Ha. Ha!<" The Volbeat declared, speaking like someone that didn't understand the language very well, his arms crossed. He seemed to be playing some sort of role...but given the obscurity it was unlikely to be understood.

Nakano would look at her as though her fox was the biggest idiot in the world.
"Carrot? You need to aim that way."
The Vulpix upon rising back upon his paws would turn and aim his flames at a nearby tree. His vision so spotted that he was actually .....seeing double as he tries his best to get his view under control.
A quick shaking of his head would finally clear things as he would fire his embers at his opponent ...though it didn't have a ghost of a chance of hitting.

The Volbeat's response would simply be to laugh once, then begin a series of irritating buzzing noises. Not with his wings, but with his mouth!
">Buzz buzz. Buzz Buzz. Bzzz bzzz bzzz!<" The Volbeat chimed gleefully. IT was an entirely new take on Bug Buzz!

This was getting more than a little ridiculous as she saw Carrot take another hit. The pokemon was levels higher than him, but still, fire versus bug. This should had been over in a single hit as Nakano watches as Carrot was literally blasted off of his feet by the move ...rolling over head over tail.
He would growl loudly as he tries to retake his feet. His tails flashing around and around him in his desperation and anger.
They were struggling and this was starting to become quite pathetic.

Despite the absurdity of it all the Volbeat's little maneuver would work, a joyous grin appearing on his face. ">Now why don't you mind your own bzzzz-ness!<" The insect declared, clearly just trying to add one more irritating buzz to the mix.
With that said, the Volbeat once more would take to the air, his wings buzzing loudly as he climbed higher. It would seem he'd bought just enough time to allow them to recover, something he wasn't about to waste as he proceeded to taught his opponent with a wide selection of ridiculous faces!

"SHOOT HIM DOWN! USE EMBER!"
Nakano would jump in with a shout. She couldn't believe that the battle had spiral so far out of their control, that they were on the verge of taking a beating from a bug pokemon that should have been groveling at their feet two moves ago. But that was the case, as the bug pokemon looked to the skies and Carrot given such a bad choice would choose to instead aim his moves for the pokemon as best as he could.
Flames gathering in his mouth as he seemed to be curling it for a big attack, but would instead, do a small blow like sending petals off of a flower towards his opponent. Though the little bits of things that rode the wind wasn't flower petals but instead, bits of flames that could easily catch and ignite upon contact with their opponent.

With the flash still spotting Carrot's eyes, evading the attack would prove a simple procedure for the Volbeat. An impish smirk touching the corners of his mouth, the insect would dance lightly around the ember petals as if he were dancing beneath the cherry blossoms in spring. For something so evidently dangerous, he certainly made it look easy.
">Come on my granny hit's harder then that!...well she would have anyway...too bad about the Magnemite with hay-fever....<" Antwuan commented, trailing off part way as he reminisced about his no doubt absurd family history.
While he did this the Volbeat's wings would begin to hum, the sound reaching volumes far beyond those of human ears....but well within the range of a canine. It would be like Carrot was being assaulted by dozens of dog whistles, the sharp sound digging deep into his brain with the intent of making his ears literally bleed!

She saw it then, a opening as he came charging at them. Nakano knew the risk involved with such a move and their rebuttal as she would take a moment before calling out loudly.
"He is heading directly towards you, try it again, Embers!"
The girl would yell loudly ....as the fire fox would smile and nod only once. He would send out whispers of flames into the air ....as a single leaf disturb by their conflict would get caught in the way and show off the power of his move by igniting into a roaring flame before dying down to nothing.
Ash, and the hope was that the flying bug would have the same problem.

Flames would catch on the Volbeat's wings, but there they would not remain. Within seconds the fire would spread, lighting up the Volbeat like a candle. The insect wouldn't even have time for an agonized cry before striking the ground, a smouldering husk.
Not peep would come from the insects trainer...and the reason would quickly become clear. She was dead, likely having passed on from dehydration mere moments after the battle had begun.

There should have been a cheer afterwards. An congratulations towards the victory at the very least, but there would be none from her ....as she saw the end results.
Two deaths, as the girl would walk over to the body of the girl, and without a second thought start to search for something of use. Suzaku had helped her to make her way over ...as she open and closed pouches and such.
She knew there would be no food, no water, but, maybe some sort of identification to take back to let them know of her passing. And something for the living perhaps, a potion, pokeball, or maybe if she was extremely luck ...that bug type might not have been the only one she was carrying.
And maybe, in the least, one of those parts she was constantly looking for on this island.

Nakano would soon enough find that the girl's luck couldn't have been worse. Save for Antwuan's PokeBall, along with the cloths on her back, the girl had essentially nothing. Well nothing practical at least. Carrying the guardiest handbag one had ever seen, the contents were mostly a wide range of strangely named cosmetics, a broken mirror, tooth picks, floss, and....tissue paper?

Nakano didn't despair completely as she would pick up the broken mirror and tear a big strip from the girl's sleeve. She would wrap it around the mirror so she wouldn't cut herself before ....dumping out the contents of the gaudy bag.
It looked strange enough that maybe someone would recognize it as she would take it and gather up the cosmetics to place back inside, and then she would rise and leave. There was nothing else, as a side thought came to her.
But, she shook her head.
"Maybe, someone will want the body."
She would tell Carrot as she would recall him before resting back on Suzaku's shoulders, and placing the bag around her neck.
"Let's keep moving."
