Yakō dispels her barriers completely and towels the sweat from her brow. Of course she couldn't give the real reason she was training. After all Xuza could just as easily become her Organizations enemy sooner or later. Unlike Xuza and many others Yakō's abilities are far more defensive and supportive in nature. Even though she'd been trained and recognized by Maaba herself, as far as her Clans standard she knew she was lacking . Multi layering,changing the composition,and duration with minimal effort took constant practice when they should be innate abilities. Even her purification powers were lacking in some areas. Perhaps it had something to do with the state of her Realm or perhaps she had been spending to much time in the Cafe slacking off. She knew she would not be much used to her friends if she did not get past these shortcomings.
Well according to my master my skills are not where they should be compared to our ancestors. Sure by other people's standards I have been labeled as exceptional but even I admit I still have not reached the apex of my abilities. Training is different for me than other people. My power is to protect and heal so it does not matter how much physical ability I have. The power of ones Magic is based on the users ability to conceptualize and fully study the depths of their ability.
Everybody has things they are not good at or cannot do. That's why people form organizations and other such things. Each person covers the other's weakness. In a battle there are times we cannot simply retreat, no matter how bad the odds are. When the people we care to protect are threatened, people like me have to enter the fray and shield them. It does not matter who or what the enemy is. I need to constantly improve my skills and get stronger, the best I can. I think that is my responsibility as the one that protects.

"Sounds like an important job..." Xuza nodded along, taking in all Yako had to say. Sure did sound like a burden; the only thing she had to worry about was bringing the house down with her powers. The way Yako described it made it sound like surgery.
"So you tend to practice by yourself then?" Asked the winged one. "Wouldn't it be better to train with others? Or are the people in this 'organization' or whatever busy right now?" Xuza had her head tilted, but smoothed out her appearance and gave a sheepish smile to Yako. Really, she didn't strike her as the type that would be so driven--or at the very least not one to be encroached on by the urgency she just laid out. Xuza couldn't help but think...
"You know," she said moving on, "I used to have a little group going too. Come to think of it," she paused, thumbing her chin a little, "I don't think we even had a defense expert... Well," she chuckled, "that could be a problem, couldn't it?"

"Is that right?" She began with the skin of a chuckle wrapped around her lips. "I hope that information isn't off limits. I'd really like to know if there's somebody legendary enough to steal Ms. Yako's heart!" She couldn't help giggle a little.
"I have an idea," she said with a slight coo. "Why don't you let me help you? We'll see if I've gotten any better while you get to test your barriers in a more real situation."

"Well, that was quite a response. I wonder who this guy could be! ... It couldn't be Decus, could it? Those two are related, aren't they? Oy. I can never keep track anymore. I remember she's Lumina's big sis, but..." And so her thoughts went for a while as she nodded.
"Good," said Xuza while drawing her sword from thin air. "To tell you the truth, I've been interested in seeing more of your abilities since our last session on the island." Xuza started to prepare herself. She knew she would have to bring her A-game in the offense area if she wanted to get past Yako's barriers. She held her rapier up, dividing her face and highlighting the focus in her eyes.
"Ready?" She gave a confident nod to herself. "Here I come!" Without any hesitation Xuza lunged at Yako, using her warping ability to bridge the gap between the two of them. Because of it, in the time it took Xuza to step out she would be within striking distance of the witch.

Yakō turns a ring on her finger and instantly changes in appearance. Her new attire is almost ninja-like in appearances with a strange eye-like marking with three triangles above it. At her hips are a number of kunai, and with her hair swept back one could now clearly see her elvish ears. As Xuza rematerializes a beautiful, golden duel scythe appears in her left hand. The Lunar witch then skillfully tosses one of the kunai forward; toward Xuza's midsection with her right.
Well I can't show you everything, so this will have to do. Using this armor will allow me to train more efficiently without needing to release my soul protect.

Lunar Stinger : - Medium sized kunai that are, inscribed with a magic formula capable of manifesting Yakō's magic across a certain distance. To make best use of the receivers, the Yakō must transmit her magic from the closest and highest point possible. By strategically scattering these kunai Yakō can manifest her chains,and Kekkai to ensnare her opponents.
Lunar Djinn Piercer - Yakō's bow-sword one belonged to her mother. The bow is used for ranged combat and the sword for close combat. The inscription on the sword reads "The light that pierces the enveloping gloom of time and illuminates the truth. " The arrows that it fires are made from Yakō's Lunar magic.
Tensa Zangtsu:A beautiful duel scythe that once belonged to her mother. It is a light, speedy scythe that is both powerful and reliable. It specializes in aerial attacks and its abilities are centered around giving Yakō weightlessness and agility in order to move through the air with ease.
Armor
Shin Tsukikage Shinobi Ishōsessei ( True Moon Shadow Ninja's Garment of Self-Restraint):: It is a set of training gear to increase her magic energy reserves, a wearer of this Garment needs to actively cycle their soul wavelength throughout their entire body in order to simply move, let alone fight. It's ideal purpose was to allow fighting while under Soul Protect,by forcing the user to manage their energy efficiently. The garb was embedded with a series of intricate spells and enchantments by Yakō's mother. It's enchantments serve to grant Yakō slight resistant to the elements, madness, and magic, when she has it on. The garb also sports a built-in rebreather for underwater combat/exploration. While wearing this Yakō can only use kekkai and Tsukikage Arts.
Tantankyūkyū ("Seeking Researcher"): An outfit blessed with the holy protection of the Horned Owl, messenger of the god of wisdom. It is said the aid the possessor's thoughts with its wisdom, lighting a path through uncertainty. It also boasts high tolerance to effects against the mind. Yakō usually uses this while researching,or when she doesn't wish to be bothered. She also can only use Shinigami and Lunar Magic while wearing it.
Keirikushō Hagoromo(Garments of Execution Heaven-Stepping Adornment) :These clothes are said to be ancient relics from before the Grim Times that Yakō obtained in her youth. It is also her uniform from the Witches Jail retrieval force uniform. The Garment possess incredible defensive power, allowing Yakō to withstand large amounts of magic energies without suffering fatal damage. Her Reigōji(spirt cloth),and Juin no Kusari(Cursed Seal Chains) are her only available abilities as the Garment blocks her others. The spirt cloth acts on its own to protect Yakō,while Yakō uses her chains and scythe to combat her foes directly.
Miscellaneous Items
Ofuda : Unactivated Shikigami usually appear as simple slips of paper with an identifying mark of the creator on them. A Shikigami is activated once its creator applies a certain amount of power to its paper and provides a desired shape. A Shikigami returns to its paper form if one or more of the following conditions is met: 1) the Shikigami's intended purpose is accomplished, 2) the Shikigami uses up its allotted power, 3) the Shikigami takes too much damage or is destroyed (in which case a portion of its paper will be damaged, 4) the Shikigami is captured, and either cuts off its own power to avoid questioning, or reverts to paper form on command. Yakō usually carries five,or so at any given time.
Reigōji (Spirit Cloth):A common magical fabric which is used to completely immobilize an opponent. With a small amount of magic Yakō is also able to freely manipulate the cloth. Yakō uses her cloth for defensive means by wrapping it around her and any nearby allies, she can form a protective barrier. The cloth can be made around a nearby object such as a rock, to better hold down the fortification.
Sewing Needle :Yakō is able to enlarge her mothers hairpin into a medium size sewing needle. The ornate needle has no innate abilities of its own, but merely act as a medium for Yakō's power, allowing her to embed her magic into clothing.
Moonstone Stele: A useful tools for a scholar,and Mage. The Magic Pen is a tool that enables the user to write in the air around them or inscribe objects. There are a variety of colors, with 72 being currently available,and appears as a neon luminescence that can be seen on any surface.
Densoumamori (伝送守り, Communication Amulet):If two people have one, they can communicate to each other even if they are in different places. However, the range of this Magic Tool depends on the quantity of Magic of the persons who are using it. Decus, Lumina,and Yakō use it to communicate with each other.
Kansō Ring: Allows her to use Kansō like her siblings,but to a lesser extent. Weapons take 3 post to cool down armors take 5

This new outfit--and appearance change--was something else. Xuza wasn't expecting the witch to change into something that looked so... Athletic? No matter what it was, though, Xuza found that what was waiting for her were reflexes that were quicker than she had anticipated. Suppose that's what one gets for making assumptions; definitely made sense also when considering Yako was used to defending attacks.
Xuza ended up moving her arm down reflexively, suffering a minor cut on her arm to save her vulnerable side. She stepped forward again, warping to the other side of the witch and turning to square up. She used her ability to transport her sword--or at least half of it--to striking distance. She hoped to fight this way until it proved to be no longer effective as she swatted at Yako.
"That's an interesting look for you," said the meister. "I think it suits you!"

Yakō smirks as the kunai grazes Xuza prompting her to warp again. Lumina had a similar warping ability: although the mechanics were vastly different so it was not too much trouble keeping up with Xuza's speed at the moment. Yakō turns to intercept with a barrier over the materialized parts of Xuza; the arm holding the sword. Hopefully this barrier would prevent Xuza from warping away as Yakō advances with her scythe.

"Oh yeah? Who was the fir--HEY." Xuza struggled for a second, taken by complete surprise by what had just happened. She definitely wasn't prepared for this.
"That's not fa~~ir!" Xuza, freaking out a bit, dodged and ducked as best she could with the current restraint. After a couple strikes Xuza's reflexes and mind seemed to agree more. She was able to plot locations for her torso, head, etc. as she bobbed and weaved out of the way, making her body go all sorts of places, while her arm remained where Yako had trapped it.

Yakō smirks as her opponent adapts. Xuza' ability was impressive and while it would be easier to erect a wider barrier in a real battle it was not necessary for thier sparring session. Instead the blonde ninja had gradually direct Xuza over to the kunai she had thrown in the beginning. As they got within range the kunai would act as a receiver allowing Yakō to manifest a small barrier attack Xuza from behind.
There's no such thing as fair or unfair in battle. There is only victory, or defeat. Though to answer your question, the first person was the Great Witch Mabaa-senpai.

Xuza Uriel: "Angel of Death"
Xuza was dodging, chasing, trying to adapt to what was happening. Mind that this was as much new for her as it was for Yako, and the concentration required to hold herself in all these places simultaneously, each having the same sovereignty as people without this ability equate to having control of their own bodies--that is, knowing where and who they are for certain at any given moment--was, needless to say, a task. While it was that Yako's ability was also mentally demanding, it was for sure easier to lead than follow in this case. The meister and would-be graduate was dooped.
At the impact, Xuza cried out and was nudged slightly off course. The barrier having struck her back with enough force to knock her some distance; what instead ended up happening was Xuza just sort of jolted forward a little. The reason for this was that, stretched out as she was, there was simply too much friction and therefor inertia for her to overcome. Twisted into knots, divided and stretched by invisible planes, the winged meister found this to actually be more painful.
"NNNN!" She whined. After the initial shock was over the meister tightened the hand that held her sword some dozen yards away. A bolt of lightning tore across the arena. Granted it was small, but it was still not something to ignore--not to mention fast as physically possible in this setting. Xuza tried to pull herself away, but no doubt she would take some damage in the process of trying to hit Yako. She pulled herself back to her sword, hoping that she would be freed from the barrier--trying to distract or frazzle Yako enough to loosen her grip, if you will.

Yakō wasn't one to gloat, but she didn't really see much to Xuza's ability compared to her own. Xuza lacked the discipline necessary to keep a calm head. Furthermore she hadn't accounted for her opponents unknown abilities. While common knowledge to most,barriers are a type of spatial magic. This allows the user to cause a given area to be cut off in space from the rest of the world. Even as restricted as she was currently, Yakō fully understood her abilities applications. Designating a target and determining the Kekkai's location didn't take much effort. She could even cause the kekkai to collapse, destroying it and its contents. The kekkai could either have coordinate or conditional settings; with coordinate Kekkai anchored to one spot and conditional Kekkai removed in a conditional state. The barrier binding Xuza's hands was of the former variety; though do to the nature of their battle Yakō wasn't going to be ruthless.
Spatial magic is specialty. My kekkai can cut of space and effectively trap anything within. I can also collapse them cause damage to anything inside. Of course I won't collapse one on you.
The blonde dispels the barrier on Xuza, and erects one beneath her feet. As the bolt comes toward her the barrier lifts her up. Keeping both her an Xuza from being hit.

Tensa Zangtsu:A beautiful duel scythe that once belonged to her mother. It is a light, speedy scythe that is both powerful and reliable. It specializes in aerial attacks and its abilities are centered around giving Yakō weightlessness and agility in order to move through the air with ease.
Armor
Shin Tsukikage Shinobi Ishōsessei ( True Moon Shadow Ninja's Garment of Self-Restraint):: It is a set of training gear to increase her magic energy reserves, a wearer of this Garment needs to actively cycle their soul wavelength throughout their entire body in order to simply move, let alone fight. It's ideal purpose was to allow fighting while under Soul Protect,by forcing the user to manage their energy efficiently. The garb was embedded with a series of intricate spells and enchantments by Yakō's mother. It's enchantments serve to grant Yakō slight resistant to the elements, madness, and magic, when she has it on. The garb also sports a built-in rebreather for underwater combat/exploration. While wearing this Yakō can only use kekkai and Tsukikage Arts.
Tantankyūkyū ("Seeking Researcher"): An outfit blessed with the holy protection of the Horned Owl, messenger of the god of wisdom. It is said the aid the possessor's thoughts with its wisdom, lighting a path through uncertainty. It also boasts high tolerance to effects against the mind. Yakō usually uses this while researching,or when she doesn't wish to be bothered. She also can only use Shinigami and Lunar Magic while wearing it.
Keirikushō Hagoromo(Garments of Execution Heaven-Stepping Adornment) :These clothes are said to be ancient relics from before the Grim Times that Yakō obtained in her youth. It is also her uniform from the Witches Jail retrieval force uniform. The Garment possess incredible defensive power, allowing Yakō to withstand large amounts of magic energies without suffering fatal damage. Her Reigōji(spirt cloth),and Juin no Kusari(Cursed Seal Chains) are her only available abilities as the Garment blocks her others. The spirt cloth acts on its own to protect Yakō,while Yakō uses her chains and scythe to combat her foes directly.
Miscellaneous Items
Ofuda : Unactivated Shikigami usually appear as simple slips of paper with an identifying mark of the creator on them. A Shikigami is activated once its creator applies a certain amount of power to its paper and provides a desired shape. A Shikigami returns to its paper form if one or more of the following conditions is met: 1) the Shikigami's intended purpose is accomplished, 2) the Shikigami uses up its allotted power, 3) the Shikigami takes too much damage or is destroyed (in which case a portion of its paper will be damaged, 4) the Shikigami is captured, and either cuts off its own power to avoid questioning, or reverts to paper form on command. Yakō usually carries five,or so at any given time.
Reigōji (Spirit Cloth):A common magical fabric which is used to completely immobilize an opponent. With a small amount of magic Yakō is also able to freely manipulate the cloth. Yakō uses her cloth for defensive means by wrapping it around her and any nearby allies, she can form a protective barrier. The cloth can be made around a nearby object such as a rock, to better hold down the fortification.
Sewing Needle :Yakō is able to enlarge her mothers hairpin into a medium size sewing needle. The ornate needle has no innate abilities of its own, but merely act as a medium for Yakō's power, allowing her to embed her magic into clothing.
Moonstone Stele: A useful tools for a scholar,and Mage. The Magic Pen is a tool that enables the user to write in the air around them or inscribe objects. There are a variety of colors, with 72 being currently available,and appears as a neon luminescence that can be seen on any surface.
Densoumamori (伝送守り, Communication Amulet):If two people have one, they can communicate to each other even if they are in different places. However, the range of this Magic Tool depends on the quantity of Magic of the persons who are using it. Decus, Lumina,and Yakō use it to communicate with each other.
Kansō Ring: Allows her to use Kansō like her siblings,but to a lesser extent. Weapons take 3 post to cool down armors take 5

Xuza Uriel: "Angel of Death"
(Ah, Kekkaishi. lol I hadn't actually finished the series. I assume you enjoyed it?)
Setting aside how it was that the barrier was able to move fast enough to counter the bolt's speed--allowing for reaction time of course, and perhaps inserting a large dose of quantum postulates--it was clear from what had been shown that Yako had the upper hand. This notion of holding back for the sake of the spar went both ways, however; Xuza wasn't about to use or account for things she would see or wouldn't see in battle simply because this wasn't a battle--duh. What that means in brass tacks for these two was that this was a learning experience. Xuza, perhaps being more greedy, was learning first.
"Sounds a little overkill, don't ya think?" teased the meister as she stood, holding her arm for a moment. "Maybe I'll just have to turn it up a notch..." Xuza drew out a couple metal barrings from her pocket. They began to spin around her sword, increasing in speed as her wings opened to spill out an inky, smokey, substance. Soon the tip of her sword was glowing orange. It was clear now why there was heavy bandaging on the hilt of her weapon.
"Okay... Let's go!" Xuza started warping her sword from every which way around Yako, striking and thrusting at her. She seemed much more serious now, and would be much more vigilant for any sign that would tip her off to Yako's barriers. Did she look a certain way? Was there a hand gesture? Maybe a certain key phrase (lol)?

Yakō Gōkana Tsukikage The Luxurious Moon Witch Former Captain Of The Witches Retrieval Corps

Yakō keeps her cool and uses new barrier platforms to dodge while remaining airborne . Every few seconds she would receive the sharp sting of Xuza's heated sword when her scythe was not able block effectively. While her armor would lessen some of the damage her exposed skin and hair were at Xuza's mercy. If she had released Soul Protect her wavelength would be able to shield her more effectively but that would defeat the entire purpose of this training. Slowly golden hexagonal shields begin to manifest around Yakō; intercepting Xuza's offensive. The first few were easily dispatched by her winged opponent; as a attack of high enough force over a small area would overwhelm the shielding at the point of contact but this tactic kept Yakō from the brunt of the assault. Eventually Yakō shields began overlap each other to form a defensive sphere-like grid around her. She smiles from within as multiple pillar-shape kekkai rapidly extend from the sphere to keep Xuza at bay.
My clans specialty was protecting others from evil beings. So I suppose you could call it overkill against certain opponents. Though compared to my siblings it's not that impressive at this level. Land spirits and ancient mythical beasts would seek out my ancestors to create and restore worlds for them. The different territories within the Netherworld are an example of this . Ah but listen to me rattle on heheh. Back to training.
The blonde chuckles and in typical ninja fashion performs a short hand sign;left hand flat over right fist (Inu/Dog). Slowly Yakō begins to condense water vapor out of the air and ground using her first kunai as a receiver for her power. Below them golden flowers would begin forming in mass.

Lunar Stinger : - Medium sized kunai that are, inscribed with a magic formula capable of manifesting Yakō's magic across a certain distance. To make best use of the receivers, the Yakō must transmit her magic from the closest and highest point possible. By strategically scattering these kunai Yakō can manifest her chains,and Kekkai to ensnare her opponents.
Lunar Djinn Piercer - Yakō's bow-sword one belonged to her mother. The bow is used for ranged combat and the sword for close combat. The inscription on the sword reads "The light that pierces the enveloping gloom of time and illuminates the truth. " The arrows that it fires are made from Yakō's Lunar magic.
