Vorpal pulled back, eye fixed warily on the Ledyba. Not a bad hit! But it wasn't enough to stop him.
Alice watched from the sidelines, uncertain of what else to do but command and cheer. "Go for a Shadow Sneak!"
She didn't have to tell him twice. The Honedge wouldn't follow the Ledyba, but once again draw on the darkness lying around him. Instead, it was his shadow that crept along, crawling under their foe. It would attempt a surprise attack from behind that guard!
Hiro would notice the Pokemon, but it seemed to be playing. A Pokemon that seemed that childish deserved to stay at home with it's family. Thus, he ignored it and continued onwards ...he wouldn't waste time on a Pokemon that wasn't worthy of the world's greatest.

The Honedge's shadow would catch the Ledyba by surprise, striking him across the back and causing him to lose his balance. Spinning about as his species was want to do, the Ledyba would abruptly fall into the bog. Flailing like made the insect would shout ">HALP! I CAN'T SWIM! i CAN'T SWIM!" Completely unaware that he had actually managed to land on one of the smaller Lilypads and had as such sunk no lower than two centimeters. Still flailing like mad the Bug-type's distress would cause him to cover his stick in dark energy once again, swinging it about in hopes of it catching on something he could use to pull himself to 'safety'. It wasn't a traditional or planned Knock-off, but if it hit Vorpal it was still liable to sting!

[+1 to Sybelle's defense rolls due to earlier critical]
At close range with little to no time for Argyle to properly react, the Gastly would be forced to take action into her own hands. As the Charge Beam fired off, Sybelle would yell for all to hear ">POP GOES THE ME!<" Before abruptly dispersing into a cloud of fine mist. If nothing else at least this way there was less of her for the attack to actually hit.
Starter Pokemon: Croagunk [M] Name & Level: Jekyll, Lv 5 [Temperament] Naughty Bio:The story of how Argyle met Jekyll is a bit of an odd one. After purchasing a bulk shipment of skin rejuvenating mud from Sinnoh's Great Marsh (Guarnteed to take twenty years off your appearance!), Mistress Rosevelt had set aside some time for a fully immersive experience with the product, during which she received quite the surprise. It would seem the mud had come with stowaway in the form of an egg. Unfortunately it was about this same time the egg decided to hatch, splattering the aristocratic woman with muck and eggshell. After a shriek and shrill cry for the nearest Argyle to attend her, Verde arrived and was immediately ordered to dispose of the creature, although not before cleaning up the mess it had created. Whispering a snide remark just below his breath, both Mistress and Argyle were in for a surprise when the newly born Croagunk began to snicker devilishly. It seemed the Poison-type had heard the boy, and shared his sense of humor. Amused by this fact the young Butler then went about the task of convincing Mistress Rosevelt that the Croagunk would be quite useful in his regular duties, allowing him to make the manor to "shine as radiantly as you do Mistress Rosevelt". Little more in the way of convincing was required on the boy's part, and so he obtained his first and for the time being only Pokemon.
Since then Jekyll has proven a good match for Argyle, frequently snickering at the boy's comments be they made aloud, or simply implied. Unlike Argyle however Jekyll does nothing to hide his wicked nature, frequently mocking others quite openly and then laughing about it. Though cruel he is not crude, and more than willingly to amuse himself by catching the enemy off guard. For the third time, Kiani found herself taking a boat to the island of new beginnings. She hoped she'd be more successful this time and she had more pokeballs. While Korbin wasn't her favorite pokemon, she was actually growing used to him. When she stepped off the boat, she looked around her and sighed.
A strange rocky land that always seems to be hot, no matter the time of day. The ground occasionally churns beneath the feet of any poor traveler who happens upon these shores. Keep an eye out whenever you take a step—you’re likely to take a fall down a particularly jagged rock slide, and you might not like what you find at the bottom. Still, as any good adventurer knows, it’s the roughest paths that brings the most rewards!... Sometimes. In the very least, it’s where you are now, so suck it up, roll up your pants, and try to avoid any lava.

Kiani recognized her surroundings, she was back at the volcano. A part of her hoped she'd encounter another litleo, and hoped she would be able to catch it, and another part of her feared that exact thing. Looking down at Korbin, she smiled and the two of them moved forward. This time...this time she wouldn't fail at her mission.
As Hiro continued forward, he would see that there was even more vegetation surviving in this barren wasteland. A tree, tall but slightly curve, stood ahead of him. It seemed one either learned to adapt to one's circumstances, or was left to wither away.
... well, somewhat. As Hiro got closer to the tree, he'd be able to notice that it seemed to slowly inch towards him. Every now and then, it's leaves would tremble, and the boughs would shake. Soon, Hiro would find that the tree was far closer to him than it had been... and it didn't seem like it had any intention of letting him pass! Instead, it planted itself firmly in front of the trainer, still shuddering. A closer inspection would reveal that it was actually a Sudowoodo, and the "shaking" was actually her trying to conceal laughter! Apparently, this Pokemon felt herself to be quite the stealthy rock-tree... regardless of the fact that everyone could see her moving. Still, there didn't seem to be away around this giggling trickster... just through it.
(( I apologize, I forgot something earlier when you finished battling the Barboach.

As the group continued moving along, there was a slight rustling and a Ducklett popped out of some nearby bushes. The pokemon stepped in front of their path, while visibly trembling. ">S-S-Stop right there! T-T-Trespassers!<" she yelled, holding a wing out to gesture at them. ">It's t-t-time for you to turn back around and l-l-leave the bog!<" While the Ducklett had good intentions, it would seem that she wasn't normally a fighter. However judging by the slightly steely look in her eyes, she wasn't going to let them go past without a fight!

(15-13)+(16-8 ) = 10 DMG! Sybelle is at 7 HP!
As gaseous as the Gastly might have been, it wasn't enough to protect her from the concentrated light blast. It erupted from Deoxys's chest, puncturing through Sybelle and whistling right by Argyle's non-occupied shoulder. The alien stretched back to its full height, and there was a light in its eyes that could only be called "smug". That was what being a teapot got you. It floated back defensively, and rose in the air. The static was back, fiercer and more of a challenge-- a battle cry. The little Gastly was welcome to try again, if she so wish to risk what little life she had left.

"Should we, um, help it? Alice was genuinely concerned by the poor flailing Ledyba. He was just trying to do his job, it seemed, and they were trespassing...
>No.< Vorpal could be compassionate, but not in battle. The Ledyba was an opponent, and any sympathy he felt disappeared in the face of battle. Still, he had enough honor not to attack an opponent laid flat on their back. Instead, Vorpal tried to get away from the flailing, glowing stick.
As the pair entered the volcanic area, the first thing they would see was an...egg of some sort? Nope... it was actually just a Darumaka in sleeping form. Curled up, he was simply slumbering out in the open, on the left side of the path. It seemed this part wasn't expecting anyone to pass through in the island or had no fear. Perhaps both. Either way unless the girl and her Wooper decided to take the initiative, the pokemon would simply let them pass on right by.

Kiani noticed the sleeping pokemon, though it had looked strange at first. She didn't want to bother it, though Korbin looked as though he wanted to examine it. However, with a short word, she called him to her side and the duo continued on their mission.

As they continued to walk, Kiani and Korbin didn't see many other pokemon. Which was both good and bad. Kiani was slightly reluctant to enter battle again, for fear of having Korbin die just as both Balrog and Nero died. But she did need to capture another pokemon for her mission and Korbin did need the experience. So she really needed to stop being so timid.

Kiani began to hum a gentle tune as she and Korbin continued to walk on the path. She was enjoying the day, despite the heat coming off the volcano. In all honest, Kiani had always loved the heat....it was the cold she couldn't stand.
