Naharia woke in the soft grey light of early morning, snuggled against her father's crimson side. He seemed to be dozing, so she gave a yawn and stood, glancing around the cave. From her father's perch, the highest among the alcoves, she could see most of the pride still slept, including her mother and sister.
That black lion was missing again.
Wondering about him, she gave a little shrug and poked at the pile of stones her father had collected when he was younger. They shone all sorts of colors in the pure sunlight, but now they only glittered. Nosing them thoughtfully, she gave a squeek when a heavy paw landed on her tail. "DADDY!"
Rellick gave a rumbling laugh and pulled her backwards, into the circle of his forepaws. He nuzzled her until she giggled, smiling all the while. "Hello Princess! Did you sleep well?"
Naharia laughed and nodded. "Yes! Can we go play now?"
Rellick laughed and stretched, nodding. "Yes. We can go play now.."

" 'Naaaariiii!" Shey's voice floated softly inward from the mouth of the den. Her head poked around, a grin stretching across her face as she saw Naharia and Rellick. Despite the fact that the teen lioness still sometimes seemed acutely uncomfortable with life within a pride with so many other lions, Rellick's little green baby seemed to have caught her heart, and Shey loved spending time with the scarlet King and his daughter.
She padded into the cave, seeing Brooke and Jax among the sleeping pride as she picked her way carefully to avoid the slumbering bodies. "Off to play already?"

((Wow, I'm sorry guys... I feel like I haven't been on in ages... My sister opened up a shop on Gaia, and I haven't been able to get on much... will change when I getmy laptop, anyway...))
Amaree stretched and licked her cubs on the forehead. She was pleased with them both as they grew and became more frisky. It seemed like she had been inside so much attending cubs that Amaree didn't hve much else to do. She yawned lazily and stood. She walked out and up to her favorite sunning spot above the caves and stretched out, flopping down, and making an oomph noise. She licked a paw boredly and looked around at the other members of the pride.

Areli sighed, licking Jax's head lightly, before standing up from her light rest. She watched Amaree, and smiled, padding out, and plopping down in front of her. "How hard is it to take care of your kits?" she asked. She sorta knew, since she had taken in Jax, but still. He wasn't hers. Not really anyway.

The teal adult lay outside the cave, purple eyes looking over the dawn-touched surroundings. Where was Jayvyn and Revyn? He missed his friend and the male who had come to be his second father. If Aygra didn't know better he would think that Jay was off sulking. While Jax and some of the females may not have liked the link between the King and Scout, he was of a open mind.
He loved them both as a son would. If asked, he would die for them.

Jax's eyes fluttered open against the brightening morning to see his adoptive mom padding outside to greet Amaree. He stood and sank into a lazy stretch staring out at the golden ball that was peeking out over the horizon. He saw Aygra outside the cave, and padded toward him silently.
"Where's Revyn?" Jax asked the teal lion, poking Aygra with his muzzle. "I'm bored." He sat back on his haunches and launched his forepaws up with a little hop of his hind paws, slinging himself over the big lion and clambering up onto his back, burying his face into Aygra's thick mane.

The large lion -larger then the lion standard by a few inches at the most- chuckled. He stayed still when the cub clambered onto his back and buried his face into his mane. "I don't know, Jax. He's probably down at the watering hole doing something."

"He could've brought me along..." Jax said sulkily, staring out over the land and executing a perfect baby pout at the same time, narrowing his eyes expertly. "Mornings are boring. Everybody's sleeping..."

"That's what mornings are for, little one." Aygra chuckled again, head turning to view the chocolate colored cub. "You could always go find him, Jax."
The black teen lay on his back, feet sticking straight up into the air. His shiny coat was wet with water, soaking the dried grasses. Indeed he was at the watering hole, watching the prey beasts with concealed amusement. They knew he meant them no harm and grazed around him.
It was the larger black shape that lay on the rocks that caused them trouble. This male they didn't know, and he had chosen the rock that jutted out over the watering hole, a perfect place to launch an attack.
Revyn yawned, one paw twitching.

"Doesn't mean there should be mornings." Jax shrugged. "I'd go find him, but Jayvyn might be there." He shook his head as an image of the big black lion came to mind. "Brooke doesn't trust him."

"There is no reason not to trust him. You are not Brooke, after all." Aygra shook out his mane, the darker strands falling about his face. "To not trust one because they are different is no reason at all."

"She's like... I dunno, she's like my sister, almost. If I don't trust her, who am I supposed to trust?" He peered back over his shoulder into the cave, where Brooke seemed to be half awake, her tail twitching gently.

Aygra smiled softly, tail flicking over the brown cubs back. "First and foremost, yourself." The Warrior tilted his head, eyes roving the landscape. "Her mistrust is mainly a denial of what is there, I believe. Those who cannot have what they want lash out at those who they believe took it from them."

"Who took it from them?" Jax repeated, bewildered. "I always thought she was like that cause of what happened to her way back..." He fell silent into thought for a moment, and then perked up. "I guess I could go find him..." He said softly as he tumbled from his perch on Aygra's back. "Thanks." He added with a fleeting smile before turning and bounding down toward the waterhole.

Areli turned her head, watching Jax run off. She sat up on her haunches, watching him. "Where is he going?" she asked, glancing down at Aygra, noting before how Jax had been talking to him.
