Kaleb huffed and turned his glare towards a corner of the room instead. He just didn't want to see Riley get hurt over little things, especially not over little things Reno said.

"Okay, you glarin at the corner ain't any better." He huffed himself and leaned against a wall.

"Fine," Kaleb said irritably, but just trying not to glare wasn't an option. He sighed, and tried to calm down a bit as he let some magical energy flow through his body. "Just try to hit me or something."

He shrugged and wrapped a bubble of gravity and earth magic around him. The earth spell grounded the gravity and caused it to pull in all directions rather than just pressing together.

That first attack would have been difficult to block against since most shields were designed to resist pressure rather than a vacuum. Kaleb just interwove his magical resistance shield tighter together so it couldn't be pulled apart. He wasn't in the mood to passively wait for Riley to call off the spell, so he summoned a portal on the floor immediately under his partner's feet that would drop him from the air a few metres to the left of where he was currently standing.

"Holy S...." His words were cut off before he hit the floor and shook his head. "....... s**t." His magic dissipated the moment he went though the portal and he didn't have the mind to put it back while his head was spinning.

If Riley reacted to his first portal trip the same way Reno had, he wouldn't be able to get to his feet without help for at least a minute or two. "That wasn't so bad, was it?" Kaleb asked in a flat tone, dispelling his own magic. Okay, so maybe he was still a little irritated.

He looked up at Kaleb and grinned. "That's a damn good way to knock someone on their a**." He stood up and shook himself trying to ignore the twinge behind his eyes. He was still dizzy but when did a Turk let that bother them?

Kaleb nodded. "It's hard to attack someone when you can't see straight, and it would be impossible to land a hit on me in a dizzy state. You're good for another attack so soon?" He asked, wearing almost a challenging look. His magical repertoire had grown since the last time the two of them had sparred, and it would be a better environment for testing his new tricks if Riley went all out.

"Not that dizzy anymore and only an idiot relies on their sight to attack." He crouched down for a moment before he went for what looked like a physical attack. He'd modded his gloves while Kaleb hadn't been around and could now charge them with varying degrees of electricity. If he got his hands on Kaleb it wouldn't knock him flat but it would hurt.

"It's not just your vestibulo-ocular reflex that the portals mess with, but it's good that you can shake it off so quickly," Kaleb replied, throwing up a barrier that would stop a physical attack from hitting, and reflect that energy back at the assailant.

He wasn't worried about the electricity being reflected back at him. His gloves had been made to protect his hands from any backlash should the mechanics malfunction.

Tilting his head slightly he cast a Shell spell on himself. Since the spell was made to block magic from doing damage he was able to almost bypass Kaleb's shields. It wasn't perfect since the two spells were different forms of magic but it meant that his hands sunk though the shield like it was viscous rather than solid.

Kaleb had to admit, that magic clash was an interesting effect. He stepped back and threw an additional element into play, one that neutralized the Shell spell and solidified his own shield around Riley's arms.

He raised a brow as his arms were once again stuck in the spell. At least he knew that the Shell spell would work for a bit as long as Kaleb didn't mess with it. He tried tugging his arms slightly to see if the shield was hooked to something or if it would move with him in it.

Kaleb smiled almost mischeviously, he had been holding the shield until he felt Riley's tug, but then he let go of it's anchor to see what Riley would do with it stuck on his arms. It was only a partial shield, intended to block frontal attacks, so his partner would be able to move it around easy enough.
