I kept seeing animated GIF's of that show flying around, and I couldn't figure out what it was called. It kept bothering me, so when I eventually chanced upon one of the characters names, I managed to track down the show. A wikipedia article showed it be interesting enough. Then, I found that the site I usually get my FMA and Trigun episodes from also had episodes of Azumanga Daioh. So I decided to watch an episode or two and see what all the hooplah was about. And now I can't stop. O_o Although I still can't get past the ridiculous introduction. 'The temptation of wheat'? What the hell is that about?

@ Ahab: My mum and brother drink Guinness, and I've had no trouble acquiring the taste for it. XD

To be frank, the only thing I find that keeps me drawn to the show is the aforementioned Osaka, whom I see as a female version of myself; completely off-track most of the time, and seemingly perpetually tired.
If it weren't for her, I'd probably have stopped watching it long ago.
But yeah...xD ._.;

I'll provde you with a link to where I got the episodes so you can see for yourself. Be warned; this show will challange your grip on reality to a death duel...and win. There are things in this show that will break you. (no download nessicary; all video's are Youtube style). http://www.keiichianimeforever.com/anime/onlineanime/series.html/en/azumangadaiohAs to the unison of the show and I; I suppose that's one way to look at it. The animation is top-notch, and the show boasts the widest range of anime emotions (you know the ones I'm talking about) I've ever seen. Another thing that I find particularly interesting about it is that there really isn't a plot to speak of. It simply follows the characters in their day-to-day lives; no scheme to save the world, no akward romance between Character A and Character B. The other interesting thing to note is its tendancy to slip into absurdity and general insanity. It often goes off on extreme tangents right in the middle of conversations. I find that this is what provides the most humor, as well as what generally pulls me into the show (most of it is provided by Osaka, so my prior claim stands firm). Veelah Shazbot_the_Pirate To be frank, the only thing I find that keeps me drawn to the show is the aforementioned Osaka, whom I see as a female version of myself; completely off-track most of the time, and seemingly perpetually tired. I hate how a conversation will be going one way and then someone says something totally irrelevant.
It's not just this, but it's happened so many times before with so many different people. It makes me feel like you're ignoring what people have written up for you to read, and you're just starting your own thing.
Notice how the last three posts in this thread are completely unrelated?
And I really didn't mean for this to sound bitchy, as I was just told it does. =S Don't take offense in it, anyone who's read it, it was just an observation.
