Shaitani smiled softly down at her, his arrogant, conceited facade breaking, "I plan on leaving the pride when I'm older." He paused a moment, smileing, "when we're both old enough we can leave... There are mountains across the desert... Or savannah..." He smiled, bringing his eyes back up to see a figure atop a sand dune, "Hey, what's that?"
(Dinner - I'll eat quickly. wink )

She was quite pleased that the male said we and not him. There was a slight falter in her steps. "Xiao Rou..." What was she going to do about that?
"What's what?" She peered in the direction he was looking at. "Maybe it's a hyena."

The lioness pushed her legs errect again and started down the dune side towards the two specks that were not vanishing like mirages. ~Maybe they are real...there is hope.~ As she got closer she could distinct the shapes as two young lions.

"We should check it out..." He started forward again, large paws leaving heavy dents in the sand. "If it's a hyena, it's a small one... We'll see."

((a full grown lioness looks like a small hyena from a distance? O.o))
Adelle smiled a little as she got closer to the young ones. "Hello. Can you help me find some water?"

Shaitani blinked, surprised, "Oh, um," he glanced to Kun Yi, "There's a pride a way behind us..." He hesitated a moment, "We can take you there if you'd like..."

"Thank you young sir. I will go on alone after I get some water." Adelle said as she nodded to them both. "Where is the border to the pride? I should announce myself as is proper."

He chuckled, "Technically you're already on the lands. But our home is that way, is more what I meant. Are you sure you don't want us to lead you back?"
Although he was excited to continue exploring the desert, he knew that the right thing to do would be to lead the female lion back. Sighing, he glanced to Kun Yi in both silent apology and annoyance.

"It's that way then." Kun Yi gestured to the lush green behind them. "I'd hurry if I were you." The irritation she felt came through in her words.

He looked to the adult, "You'll know it when you see it - look for lots of cubs." He pawed at the sand, his large paw making a deep hole that became half-full once more as soon as he removed his paw. "And a pretty big cave."

"She has directions now, shall we continue, Shaitani?" The Dragon Lioness trotted past the adult lioness. She was eager to explore the vast stretches of the desert. Who knew what they would find out there!

He nodded, glancing once more at the lioness, then caught up with Kun Yi. He was silence - lost in his own thoughts that took place a whole world away. No one else accessed his mind, and he would keep it that way. His eyes bored into Kun Yi's back for a moment, mind racing, then returned to the desert in front of them.

The fur on her back prickled under the weight of the males stare. Yet she said nothing. She picked a direction and started out. Some part of her mind thought that if they got far enough away from the Pride that they'd never find their way back. She wouldn't miss the Pride, just her sister.

Shaitani began to sweat under the swealtering sun. Looking to the sky, he saw the the sun had already passed high noon slightly - it was going to start to get really hot, really fast, "Kun Yi... The sun is growing hotter. It's going to start to get dangerous soon..." He remembered the exhaustion Ling had suffered the last time he had wandered to the desert. It was about the same time of day, and Ling had collapsed when he had gotten them back to the pride. While Shaitani was still smaller than the adult King, his body was larger than last time, and it held the heat well due to his black coat.
